Purpose: of the article is to study the basic principles of higher education and their impact on the formation of a socially active position of universities and their involvement in achieving sustainable development goals on the scale of global humanity. Methods: is based on the application of systemic and institutional approaches to the study of the role of higher education in solving the problems of society, as well as a group of methods of scientifc cognition: dialectical and retrospective, induction and deduction, comparative analysis, the method of rating assessment and others. Results: the essence of the fundamental principles of higher education – academic freedom and academic responsibility, which form the value basis of classical education in its historical period of development, is revealed. In modern conditions, these principles are increasingly reflected in the activities of universities related to their key role in solving economic, social and environmental problems. More and more often universities declare their social responsibility and prove it by the example of their decisions in the conditions of social crisis. The COVID-19 pandemic isconsidered one of the crisis situations, and the measures taken by the university leadership to support the teaching staff and its student audience are a kind of indicator of social responsibility. The range of tasks in which the higher school is involved is quite wide. It covers problems of a global nature, one of which is the search for ways of sustainable development of mankind: universities take responsibility for achieving the selected Sustainable Development Goals and report to society for the effectiveness of this area of their activities. Conclusions and Relevance: the implementation by universities of socially responsible behavior towards their internal stakeholders (teachers, students, employees), integration into solving vital problems of society, as well as involvement in achieving Sustainable Development Goals clearly demonstrate the transformation of their mission. Universities enter into an active dialogue with society to solve problems at different levels of economic systems, making efforts to combine the spheres of knowledge production, scientifc research expected by society, the transformation of knowledge and scientifc results into practice through the initiation of new directions and activities, technological transformation of the scientifc and educational space, diversifcation of channels of interaction with society

The integration processes, taking place in modern society, impact the system of higher education. The united world educational environment is being formed, demonstrating the coordination of educational standards, programmes, approaches to the training of future specialists in higher educational institutions of various countries. The integration of the system of Ukrainian higher education into the world educational environment determines the growth of academic mobility of students, for which the USA higher education is famous about. The aim of the article is to study the organizational and aontent aspects of academic mobility of students in the USA higher education. Research methods applied: analysis and synthesis of psychological and pedagogical literature; study of experience of particular American universities in the context of academic mobility, systematization, and generalization. Internationalization has been defined as one of the most important principles of academic mobility organization in the USA. Internationalization is a process in which the goals, functions and organization of educational services acquire an international dimension. This process involves the integration of national education systems, defining and development of general and universal concepts and components of their functioning, i.e. those principles that form the basis of diversity of national cultures, contribute to their mutual enrichment and provide systemic changes in higher education. Academic mobility is a form of organization of the educational process (in particular, by distance learning means), which provides the opportunity to study, teach, train or carry out research in another educational institution, even abroad, resulting in self-realization in learning and professional activities. The temporary study in other institutions of higher education is a characteristic feature of academic mobility of students. The main goals of academic mobility of students in the USA are the acquisition of professional and intercultural competencies, cultural experience of the host country through training in academic mobility programmes, in summer and evening language schools, project implementation, and research.

The COVID-19 year was a difficult and challenging year in all areas of life. The academic world as well was compelled, in a matter of days, to shift from face-to-face learning on campus to e-Learning from a distance, with no adequate preparation. Despite the difficulties generated by e-Learning and students’ many complaints, the Israeli Council for Higher Education and institutions of higher education are preparing for a new era, where online courses will constitute an integral part of studies. The purpose of the study was to examine the attitude of lecturers and students to the benefits and shortcomings of e-teaching with its various aspects from a systemic, multi-institutional perspective. The study included 2,015 students and 223 lecturers from different academic institutions: universities, academic colleges of education, academic colleges of engineering, and private colleges.

This paper shows how the Operations Research (OR) tools (in modelling and simulation) can be modified, applied in planning and their understanding of any long-term impacts due to sudden policy changes. The proposed approach is particularly useful to investigate the movements of the university academics and their impacts on changes in research, research funding, teaching and services as they are the integral parts of the career at any level. We argue that the Discrete Event Simulation (DES) approach can be used to model such dynamics in Higher Education Academic Workforce Model (HEAWM) and show that it can provide a comprehensive projection of future requirements within the context of career progression. Consequently, this HEAWM allows universities to interrogate factors influencing the academic workforce planning as this process often requires the new attributes to be tracked in the model which is difficult with other OR models. It is shown that this approach is easy to apply via DES and creation of the corresponding HEAWM provides better understanding of the factors that will influence the future workforce than the existing results.

The problem of this study is determining what types of studies involving mobile technology in the field of music education are carried out in Turkey and the analysis of these studies. The main objective of the study is to evaluate the mobile technology studies conducted in the field of music education in Turkey. The data obtained in the study were visualised using tables and the answers to the research questions were sought. From the data obtained in the study, it was observed that there were no scientific publications about mobile technologies in the music field before 2004. In line with these findings, it can be said that the number of academic studies on mobile technologies in music education has increased gradually in recent years. It has been suggested to increase the number of these studies and to implement music education programmes where music education processes are carried out with modern learning models.     Keywords: Mobile learning, mobile technologies, music education, academic studies, Turkey.

Within the education academic arena, there is almost no established research on the alternative Waldorf (or Steiner) education movement in the US or UK. This primary research investigates Rudolf Steiner’s philosophy of early childhood Waldorf education, and its child-centered and inclusive core. Ten kindergarten teachers in the US and UK educating children ages three through seven were interviewed on their values and practices, and on intrinsic notions of inclusion, which are scrutinized according to Lani Florian's inclusive pedagogy. Contrasting interpretation among practitioners on educating diverse learners emerge. US and UK Waldorf education appear situationally different, and yet the underlying educational ethos fundamentally remains the same. An anthroposophical understanding of the human being, and ‘the will’ of the kindergarten child who learns through imitation and play, underlies this far-sighted, holistic basis. Recommendation is for Waldorf early childhood studies to enhance transnational networks among themselves, and to make connections with broader academic educational clusters, in particular those on inclusion.

By the time we set such fragments as empirical field, we intended to exploit traces that allow us to reflect on how individuals become teachers when they are inserted simultaneously into two contexts whose articulation tends to be marked by conflicted and subordinated relations: the school and the university. We defend that the biography’s experience, which came out in this written text, contributes to think other theoretical ways to the interface scientific research-teaching in the elementary education, providing, therefore, the destabilization of binarism grounded in the educational field. Keywords: Beginning teacher; Teaching experience; Self-biographical narratives; Basic education.
