Abstract Background We report a case in which a list of high-risk pregnant women on cloud-based business communication tools was useful in formulating an anesthetic plan for unscheduled cesarean section. Case presentation A 37-year-old woman, who had been prescribed icosapentate for hypertriglyceridemia, received an antenatal anesthetic evaluation for possible cesarean delivery, and it was agreed that the anesthetic method for emergency cesarean section was general anesthesia if the surgery would take place within 7 days after the discontinuation of the drug, and regional anesthesia if it would take place any time later. Then this agreement was uploaded on the cloud-based business communication tools, and updated until she delivered her baby via unscheduled cesarean section. Conclusions A cloud-based business communication tools was useful in formulating an anesthesia plan for a patient undergoing a cesarean delivery. However, more discussion would be needed to utilize it in security.

Abstract Introduction: Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is the third coronavirus that make a global concern in 21th century. Pregnant women are particularly at higher risk of developing severe viral pneumonia, possibly because of a partial immune suppression during their pregnancy. Under such critical and rapidly evolving circumstances, these poor findings might be helpful for the treatment of infected pregnant women with 2019-nCoV.Case presentation: In this study, we have reported a pregnant woman at 25 gestational weeks with COVID-19 who has developed severe complications, including hypoxemia, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), pulmonary fibrosis, and bilateral pleural effusion. In the end, she died one month after admission to the hospital. Conclusion: Pregnant population are especially more at risk of viral pneumonia caused by coronaviruses, further research on the prevention and treatment of new coronavirus is necessary.

Abstract Introduction: Vertical transmission of covid-19 is possible; its risk factors are worth researching. The placental changes found in pregnant women have a definite impact on the foetus.Case presentation: We report a case of a 25-year-old woman, gravida 3, para 2 (2 alive children), with a history of two caesarean deliveries, who was infected by the SARS-Cov-2 during the last term of her pregnancy. She gave birth by caesarean after 34 weeks of gestation to a new-born baby also infected with SARS-Cov-2. The per-operative observations noted several eruptive lesions in the pelvis, bleeding on contact. Microscopic examination of the foetal appendages revealed thrombotic vasculopathy in the placenta and in the umbilical cord vessels. Conclusion: This case is one of the first documented cases of COVID-19 in pregnancy in sub-Saharan Africa. We strongly suggest obstetricians to carefully examine the aspect of the peritoneum, viscera and foetal appendages in affected pregnant women.

Introduction: In March 2020, the World Health Organization introduced the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic as a global health concern and predicted that without any changes in the transmission process, the disease would reach its peak in April. Hence, it was not unreasonable to expect the referral of pregnant women in all trimesters. Since respiratory illnesses can increase the risk of infectious diseases and maternal mortality, it is justifiable to consider COVID-19-positive cases as high-risk pregnancies. Case presentation: The present study introduced six pregnant women with COVID-19 and discussed the points to consider in managing these patients. Conclusions: Pregnant women are at increased risk in all epidemics of infectious diseases due to their physiological and immunological changes. Moreover, the safety of the fetus is another important issue to consider.

Background: Acquired uterine arteriovenous malformations (AVM) are a rare but potentially serious condition that can result in severe bleeding. Rarely, uterine AVM can occur following a complete molar pregnancy. Resolution of AVMs has been reported recently with conservative management using a combination of Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone (GnRH) agonist, an aromatase inhibitor and tranexamic acid. This treatment has not previously been reported in a patient with AVM post molar gestation. Case Presentation: A 23-year-old woman was diagnosed with a large uterine arteriovenous malformation following a suction curettage for a molar pregnancy. Complete resolution of the lesion on imaging was seen after six weeks of medical management. Conclusion: A uterine arteriovenous malformation can develop in a patient post complete molar pregnancy and can be successfully treated with medical management.

AbstractSeizures during pregnancy complicate <1% of all gestations; however, they are associated with increased adverse maternal and perinatal outcomes (acute and long term). The differential diagnosis of seizures in pregnancy is extensive. Determining the underlying etiology is crucial in the management of these patients. Medical providers caring for pregnant women should be educated about possible etiologies of seizures during pregnancy and the importance of prompt management of these women in a timely fashion. Evaluation and management should be performed in a stepwise fashion and may require a multidisciplinary approach with other specialties such as neurology. Objective: The objective of this article is to increase awareness and to provide a stepwise approach toward the diagnosis and management of pregnancies complicated by seizures.
