Sintasan yang rendah pada pembenihan lobster air tawar tidak terlepas dari karakteristik lobster air tawar yang teritorial pada areal yang terbatas, sering menunjukkan sifat agresif pada umur muda, dan memiliki perilaku kanibalisme. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengevaluasi pengaruh penggunaan selter yang berbeda terhadap respons stres dan kinerja produksi sehingga dapat menentukan jenis selter yang tepat untuk pendederan lobster air tawar Cherax quadricarinatus. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan empat perlakuan dan tiga ulangan. Perlakuan pada penelitian ini adalah penggunaan selter yang berbeda yakni pipa PVC, roster (ventilasi blok), tali rafia, dan tanpa selter (kontrol). Benih lobster air tawar yang digunakan memiliki bobot rata-rata awal berkisar antara 0,60±0,09-0,64±0,02 g dan panjang total rata-rata awal berkisar antara 2,55±0,06-2,61±0,03 cm yang dipelihara dalam sistem resirkulasi selama 60 hari. Perlakuan dengan penggunaan selter ataupun tanpa selter (kontrol) tidak memberikan pengaruh signifikan (P>0,05) terhadap respons stres, namun memberikan pengaruh signifikan (P<0,05) pada kinerja produksi benih lobster air tawar di akhir penelitian. Perlakuan terbaik pada penelitian ini adalah penggunaan selter tali rafia dengan kadar glukosa sebesar 101,00±17,35 mg/dL; protein total sebesar 5,00±0,36 g/dL; sintasan sebesar 86,67± 0,00%; bobot rata-rata akhir sebesar 2,86-3,46 g; panjang total rata-rata akhir sebesar 4,47-5,08 cm; laju pertumbuhan bobot spesifik sebesar 2,92±0,21%/hari; laju pertumbuhan panjang spesifik sebesar 1,15±0,08%/hari; rasio konversi pakan sebesar 2,97±0,05; dan biomassa total sebesar 45,02±1,10 g. Penggunaan tali rafia sebagai selter menjadi perlakuan yang terbaik karena kemampuan tali rafia memisahkan banyak individu sehingga dapat mengurangi kanibalisme dengan cara meminimalkan kontak antarbenih lobster air tawar.The low survival rate in seed production of freshwater crayfish is mainly caused by the territorial behavior of freshwater crayfish which leads to aggressiveness and cannibalism behavior even at a young age. This research aimed to determine the effect of using different nursery shelters on stress responses and production performance of freshwater crayfish Cherax quadricarinatus. This research used a completely randomized design consisted of four treatments, each with triplicate. The treatments used were different shelters made from PVC pipes, ventilation blocks, raffia ropes, and no shelters as controls. The freshwater crayfish seeds had initial weights ranged from 0.60±0.09-0.64±0.02 g, and total length ranged from 2.55±0.06-2.61±0.03 and reared in a recirculation system for 60 days. The results of the research showed that all treatments including controls did not have a significant effect (P>0.05) on stress responses but had a significant effect (P<0.05) on the production performance of freshwater crayfish seed at the end of this research. The seeds reared with raffia ropes shelter had the best production performance indicated by its glucose level of 101.00±17.35 mg dL1, total protein level of 5.00±0.36 g dL1, survival rate of 86.67 ± 0.00%, final average weight of 3.46 ± 0.08 g, final average total length of 5.08 ± 0.12 cm, specific weight growth rate of 2.92±0.21% per day, specific length growth rate of 1.15± 0.08% per day, feed conversion ratio of 2.97±0.05, and total biomass of 45.02±1.10 g. The use of raffia ropes is considered as the best shelter for freshwater crayfish seed as it provides more space to separate individual seeds which can reduce cannibalism behaviour due to minimum contact between individual seeds.

<em>This study aimed to determine the best dose of administration of marine fungal <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Nodulisporium</span> sp. KT29 metabolites to improve the production performance of marine culture of white shrimp. The experimental animals used were white shrimp <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Litopenaeus</span> <span style="text-decoration: underline;">vannamei</span> post larvae 12, which were reared in the sea using floating net cages with a stocking density of 700 post larvae/net. Experimental design used was a completely randomized design consisting of 3 treatments with 3 replications; control without the administration of <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Nodulisporium</span> sp. KT29 metabolites, dietary of feed containing <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Nodulisporium</span> sp. KT29 metabolites at doses of 20 mL/kg of feed and 40 mL/kg of feed. The results showed that survival rate, absolute length growth, weight gain, daily growth rate and feed conversion ratio in treatment groups were better than the control (P&lt;0.05). The administration of marine fungal <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Nodulisporium</span> sp. KT29 metabolites at a dose of 20 mL/kg of feed could improve the production performance of white shrimp cultivated in the sea with survival rate, daily growth rate and feed conversion ratio: 66.61±6.94%, 20.18±0.39 %/day and 3.20±0.22, respectively.</em>

The thyroxin hormone plays an important role in the process of metabolism, yolk sac absorbsion, and growth of fish. The aims of this research were to observe the effect of various concentration of thyroxin (T4) on the absolute growth weight, total length, survival rate, and pigment development of pink zebra fish larvae (Brachydanio reiro ) after being reared 42 days. The pink zebra fish larvae at 4 day age with the average weight of  0,002 – 0,003g and average length of ± 3.10 – 3.43 mm were immersed at various concentration of T4 for 24 hours. Prior the treatment fish larvae were dipped into 1 ppt salinity for 2 minutes then transferred into 1 Liter, 1ppt saline and various T4 in plastic bags. The thyroxin concentrations were A (0 mg / L); B (0.05 mg / L); C (0.10 mg / L) and D (0.15 mg / L) respectively. The stocking density was 40 fish/L. After that they were transferred into aquariums and reared for 42 days. Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with four treatments and three replications were used. The variables observed were absolute and specific growth, total length, survival rate and hue degree. The results showed that the thyroxin hormone had significant effect on absolute growth weight, total length and specific growth rate.  The dosage 0.1 mg/L was the best treatment on absolute growth, total length, and specific growth rate. Whilee the survival rate showed no significant differences across the treatments. Treatment C also demonstrated the best ppigment development (14.60 + 0.36º hue) compared to others.

Abstract Lobster is among freshwater crustaceans which is potentially cultivated in aquaculture system. This present study was conducted to determine the growth and survival rate of freshwater lobster Cherax quadricarinatus fed different forage feed. The experimental methode used a completely randomized design consisted of 4 treatments in triplicate: commercial diet (PL), commercial diet and carrots (PW), commercial diet and potatoes (PK) and commercial diet and sweet potatoes (PU). The experimental lobsters were 5-7 cm in size and 6-8 g in weight. Results indicated that forage feeding can affect the total weight and length, weight gain, specific growth rate and survival rate of lobster. Data showed the best weight gain and specific growth rate were found in PW (34.37±0.30%) and (1.05±0.03%), respectively. The lowest survival rate was seen in PU at 86.67%. However, the best feed conversion ratio gained by PL at 1.74±0.09. This study suggested that the combination of commercial diet with carrots provided the best growth performances in freshwater lobster Cherax quadricarinatus.

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari hibridisasi ikan nila Pandu F6 dengan nila Nilasa terhadap karakter reproduksinya dan performa benih yang dihasilkan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode eksperimental menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 kali ulangan. Perlakuan dalam penelitian ini: perlakuan A (Pandu F6 ♀><Pandu F6 ♂), B (Nilasa ♀><Nilasa ♂), C (Pandu F6 ♀>< Nilasa ♂), dan D (Nilasa ♀><Pandu F6 ♂). Data yang diamati meliputi fekunditas, daya tetas telur, diameter dan bobot telur, panjang dan bobot larva TL, panjang dan bobot larva lepas kuning telur, kelulushidupan, laju pertumbuhan spesifik, konversi pakan dan kualitas air. Hasil penelitian menunjukan nilai terbaik pada fekunditas sebesar 1191,67 ± 239,45 butir/200 g, daya tetas telur sebesar 80,93 ± 3,90%, kelulushidupan sebesar 81,55 ± 7,54%, laju pertumbuhan spesifik sebesar 7,26 ± 0,25, konversi pakan 0,54 ± 0,02 didapatkan pada perlakuan C, akan tetapi untuk diameter dan bobot telur, panjang dan bobot larva Kuning Telur, dan panjang dan bobot larva lepas kuning telur tidak berbeda nyata. Hasil tersebut menunjukan bahwa hibridisasi (perlakuan C) memberikan pengaruh yang nyata (P < 0,05) terhadap fekunditas, daya tetas telur, kelulushidupan, laju pertumbuhan spesifik, dan konversi pakan tetapi tidak berpengaruh terhadap diameter dan bobot telur, panjang dan bobot larva, dan panjang dan bobot larva lepas kuning telur. Kata kunci: Hibridisasi, Ikan Nila, Karakter Reproduksi, Performa Benih  ABSTRACT This research aims to know the influence of hybridization tilapia fish Pandu F6 with nila Nilasa against the character of the reproduction and seed performance. This research was conducted with the experimental method using Random Design complete (RAL) with 4 treatments and three replicates. The treatments in this study: the treatment A (Pandu F6 F6 ♀ >< Pandu ♂), B (Nilasa ♀>< Nilasa ♂), C (Pandu F6 ♀>< Nilasa ♂), and D (Nilasa ♀ >< Pandu F6 ♂). The observed data covering fecundity, hatching rate, egg size, yolk sack larva length and weight, length and weight of the egg yolk off larvae, survival rate, specific growth rate, feed conversion rate, and water quality. The results showed the best value on the fecundity of 1191.67±239.45 eggs/200 g, Hatching rate 80.93 ± 3.90%, Survival rate of 81.55 ± 7.54%, specific growth rate of 7.26 ± 0.25, conversion fodder 0.54 ± 0.02 obtained at the treatment C, but for the diameter and weight of egg, larval length and weight TL, and the length and weight of the yolk egg off larvae for each treatment do not differ markedly. The results showed that hybridization (treatment C) gives a real influence (P < 0.05) of fecundity,hatching rate, survival rate but not with the egg size, larva weight and length, and the length and weight of larvae off yolk. This study was aim to determine the different pellet feed source on the growth and survival rate of Nile tilapia. The purpose of this research was to provide information of the best feed for the growth and survival rate of Nile tilapia.Completely Randomized Design, with 3 treatments ( treatment A: community-made pellet, treatment B: commercial pellet PF500; treatment C: commercial pellet 885) and 3 replicate was used for the research. Nile tilapia with 3-4 cm length placed in nine aquariums with stocking density 6 fishes/L. Feeding treatment given twice a day at level 3 %/ body weight.  The parameters observed include growth rates, survival, and feed conversion. Supporting data was observed for water quality. Observation was carried out for 30 days.The results showed that the average weight, in treatment A was 101,66 g, treatment B was 118.33 g, and treatment C was 128.33 g. The average yield of relative growth in treatment A was 111.44%, treatment B was 134.23%, and treatment C was 135.76%. Treatment C shows the highest value, then treatment B and treatment A. The average yield of feed conversion, treatment A was 1.11; treatment B 3.21; and treatment C was 3.37. Survival rate of all treatments was 100%.

Aquaculture is is often constrained by the availability of water, both in quality and quantity. The aim of this study was to determine the optimum maintenance system of elver (Anguilla bicolor bicolor) on a wet, moist and dry system through production performance studies and physiological responses. The research was conducted from August to September 2018 at the Production Technic and Management of Aquaculture Laboratory, Department of Aquaculture, IPB University. A completely randomized design with 5 treatments and 3 replications was used in this study, namely treatment with high water wet system 0% of body height (A), high water wet system 50% of body height (B), high water wet system 100% of body height (C), moist system (D), and dry system (E). The body weight of elver was 18.80 ± 0.62 g which derived from fish cultivator in Bogor, West Java. Fish was fed 3 times per day at satiation with commercial feed which a protein content of 50%. Results showed that treatment C was the best result with survival rate of 100%, the specific growth rate of 0.45% day -1, the absolute growth rate of 0.07 g day 1 and feed conversion ratio of 6.57. The analysis of variance showed that the treatments showed the significant effect (P <0.05). The blood glucose value closest to the eel condition before treatment was found in the treatment C.

Abstract Gurami having economic values of. Have abundance, namely able in waters with its oxygen relatively low. Belong to the species of carnivorous herbs herbivora. Unprofitableness is eat feed derived from herbs with content nutrition relatively low compared to animals, so it impact on its growth slow, easly diseases, easly stress, hard eat and SR low. The purpose of this research isto know the addition of enzyme lignosellulase in artificialfeedincreased growth and increased survival rate seed gourami. Method research used is experimental with delightful random complete (RAL) with five treatment and four deuterenomy. The treatment used were : control (A), enzyme 550ml (B), enzyme 600ml (C), enzyme 650ml (D), and enzyme 750ml(E). The main parameters measured were growth rate, and survival rate. The supporting parameters observedwas water quality. Data analysis used analysis of variance (ANOVA) to know the effect of the treatments.To know the difference among treatments used Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The result showed that the provision of enzymes give a real power (p<0.01) against growth rate daily and growth long absolute gourami (Osphronemus gouramy) To survival rate and feed conversion ratio gourami give impact which is not dissimilar real. Growth best on treatment E (0.0214), then successive followed by treatment D (0.0174), C (0.015), B (0.0142) and A (0.0128). Conversion ratio feed on all treatment e 10,415, that is, e then successive followed by treatment d (12,915), c (14,3975), b (15,6375) and a (17,5325). Survival rate obtained 100%. Water quality media maintenance gourami is temperature 26ºC - 29ºC, pH 7 – 8, oxygen dissolved 3.5 – 5 mg/l and ammonia 0.004 – 0.005 mg/l.

This study was conducted to investigate and compare the growth performance of four Tilapia strains in hapa nursing with the aim to find out the best strain of tilapia. The research was conducted by four treatments with five replicates each. The tilapia fry were collected from, BFRI source from BFRI HQ, Mymensingh stocked in Treatment-1; unknown source from Hi-Tech Tilapia Hatchery Dagoanbhuiya, Feni in Treatment-2, Philipine strain from Green Field Tilapia Hatchery, Laxmipur in Treatment-3 and fry from Breeding Cohort, Sonar Bangla Hatchery, Bamna, Barguna in Treatment-4. The Individual stocking weight (g) of fry was average 0.01g. The fries were stocked in 12 hapa at same stocking density of 1200 fish/m2. Each of the hapa was 2m × 1m × 1m size and fixed in an earthen ponds. Supplementary feed with 31.29% of protein level consisting of rice bran (25%), mustard oil cake (15%), wheat flour (30%) and fish meal (30%) was given at the rate of 40% of their body weight per day manually, four times a day at the beginning of the experimental period and reduced to 25% of their body weight and continued up to harvesting period. The results showed that fry of Treatment-4 strain was the best strain and had significantly (p < 0.05) higher final mean body weight (FMBW), mean body weight gain (MBWG), specific growth rate (SGR) (9.75%), gross yield (GY) (2.13) and Net yield (NY) (2.12) than the Treatment-1 , Treatment-2 strains and Treatemnt-3 strain. Treatment-4 strain had the fastest growth rate, whereas the lowest performing strain was that from Treatment-2. We also analyzed survival rate of the fish from stocking to harvest, survival rate was highest in Treatment-4 strain (80%) where lowest is Treatment-3. Treatment-4 stain also showed the best feed conversion ratio (FCR) 1.62 than others. Considering the overall performance it can be concluded that tilapia strain collected from Breeding Cohort source is best among the four strains. However, further research may still be needed to compare more strains from different water body to evaluate the genetic potential for Tilapia.International Journal of Natural Sciences (2015), 5(2) 98-106

This study aimed to evaluate the impact of plant-based food additives on growth performance, body composition and survival of Nile tilapia. Four isonitrogenous (25% CP) and isolipidic (13% CL) experimental diets were prepared and designated as R1, R2, R3, and R4. R1 contains (3% Cymbopogon citratus), R2 contains (3% Ocimum basilicum), R3 contains (3% Mentha spicata) and R4 (control or 0% additive). 180 Nile tilapia fry with an initial average weight of 0.2g were distributed in 12 plastic tanks (50 L/tank) at the stocking density of 15 fish per tank in an isolated system. Fish were fed with experimental diets 3 times per day (8:00 am, 1:00 pm and 5 :00 pm) for 3 months. After 90 days of experiment, the results revealed that the final average weight ranged from 2.62g to 8.00g, the absolute average weight gain (AAWG) from 2.42 to 7.8g, the feed conversion ratio (FCR) from 1.31 to 2.67 and specific growth rate (SGR) from 3.06 to 4.36%/d. The survival rate (SR) varied between 64 and 100%. Of the parameters studied such as the absolute average weight gain (AAWG), the specific growth rate (SGR), the feed conversion ratio (FCR), and the survival rate, the best were obtained by the group of fish fed with the R2 diet containing 3% Ocimum basilicum. The results of the analysis of the flesh showed that the addition of 3% O. basilicum does not modify the contents of dry matter, crude protein, and ash but slightly increased the fat content. Based on the results, the inclusion of natural plant-based food additive (3% Ocimum basilicum) in the diet of Nile tilapia improved the parameters of growth, feed efficiency, and survival.
