The purpose of this study is to determine the factors that affect the level of entrepreneurial capability in tourism of rural area in Nagari Salayo of West Sumatra. The level of entrepreneurial capability is the response variable in this study with an ordinal scale consisting of four categories, they are lower, middle, high, or very high. Whereas the predictor variables consist of 4 socio-demographic factor variables, they are gender, education level, age group and occupation, and also 5 entrepreneurial motivation variables. To determine the predictor variables that are significantly affecting response variables, an ordinal logistic regression with a bootstrap estimation is executed. The study’s result shows two predictor variables that affect the response variable significantly, they are the entrepreneurial motive and social motive with the hit ratio of 61,667%. With that result, the model formed by bootstrapping logistic regression is able to determine the level of entrepreneurial capability in tourism of the rural area.

This study aims to use the logistic regression model to classify patients as infected and without cataracts. The independent variables were used to represent the gender, the age, the pressure in the right eye, the pressure in the left eye, HbA1C, and the anemia, representative variables for the study of Cataract disease affects the eyes, based on a random sample of (116) patients. The results proved that the used logistic regression model is an efficient and representative for data that shows through (Likelihood Ratio Test) and (Hosmer and Lemeshow test), and the study proved that the value of (R Square Nagelkerke=1) this means that 100% of the change in the occurred changes in the response variable explained through the Logistic regression model.

Abstract The study aims to analyze the factors affecting community involvement in the waste separation and reduction through waste bank for low participation through benefits offered to its member. Logistic regression was used for the analysis, and there were 26 dependents variables applied to the analysis. The result showed that six variables, i.e., age, occupation, participation in social activities, knowledge of sustainable development, distance from HH to WB, and availability of dissemination of 3R, affect people’s motivation to be member and actively involved in waste reduction through the waste bank. All variables except distance are proportional to the motivation of the community to participate in waste bank. The attained model is used to calculate the probability of community participation in waste banks afterward. Using different conditions, where variables are set with values of zero and one representing absence and availability of related variables, respectively various probability values come out ranging from 0% to 94.8% which is the highest probability value if all significant factors are available.

Abstract Background Antenatal care (ANC) is a health care intervention intended to ensure the safety of pregnancy. According to the World Health Organization, at least four ANC visits are recommended for a healthy pregnancy. However, whether this recommended number of visits was followed or not in the rural areas of Southwestern Ethiopia is not known. Therefore, the study aimed to investigate the prevalence of, and the associated factors of ANC utilization by pregnant women in the rural areas of Southwestern Ethiopia. Methods A community-based cross-sectional study design was used in three rural zones. The data were collected from n = 978 women through a structured questionnaire with face-to-face interview. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and a multiple binary logistic regression model. Results The results showed that 56% of women made the recommended minimum number of ANC visits and the remaining 44% of them underutilized the ANC service. The multiple binary logistic regression model identified zone, marital status of the woman, educational level of the husband, occupation of the husband, knowledge of danger signs of pregnancy, birth interval, source of information, timely visits, and transportation problem to be statistically significant factors affecting the prevalence of ANC visit utilization of women. Bench Maji zone had smaller odds ratio of ANC visit prevalence as compared to Kaffa zone. Women who lived in the rural area of Sheko zone are 2.67 times less likely to utilize ANC visit than those who lived in the rural area of Kaffa zone keeping other variables constant. Conclusion The study results highlight the need to increase the number of ANC visits, and the importance of using an appropriate model to determine the important socio-demographic factors that ANC service providers shall focus on to improve the health of the unborn baby and the mother during pregnancy.

OF LOGISTIC REGRESSION IN DETERMINING FACTORS AFFECTING THE NUMBER OF ECOTOURISM ASSESSMENT IN BEDONO VILLAGE. Tourism activities are one of the vital sectors that can be relied upon by the people of a village to obtain additional income. Bedono Village is a coastal village located in Sayung Subdistrict, Demak Regency. As one of the coastal villages, Desa Bedono experiences pressure from activities on land and in the ocean. The most noticeable impact is damage to infrastructure due to tidal flooding. This certainly inhibits tourists who want to come to visit Bedono Village. This study aims to determine the factors that influence tourists to come to the village of Bedono. Data collection was carried out with a questionnaire containing closed questions with 100 respondents. Data processing used logistic regression with the help of SPSS software. The results of this study indicate that there are three factors influencing tourists to come to Bedono Village, namely: villagers' responses to tidal floods (X1), priority environmental problems (X3) and types of tours offered (X11) seen from the significance value at under 1% and 5%. After knowing the factors that influence tourists to come to Bedono Village, it is hoped that residents can maximize their potential so that they can increase the number of tourists.

Sharecropping system is wellknown as a disincentive agricultural system (Marshall 1920). It has been a culture that is very difficult to be deleted in rural area. Almost 70,5% of salt production business in Pamekasan regency applied this system, although it does not give more adventages to the sharecroppers. This study aimed to analyze the sharecropping system in salt production by estimating the profit taken by landlords and sharecroppers. Beside that, this study aimed to identify the factors affecting sharecropper’s decission by using binery logistic regression. The results showed that the landlords and the sharecroppers have a significant difference in the mean of their profit. This result is significant for α=5%. Sharecropper’s decission is affected significantly by the last education of sharecropper, number of sharecropper’s family, and cost of fund. This study recommended the government, landlords, sharecroppers, middleman, and the stakeholder to cooparate and make a forum that can give a better welfare to the sharecroppers.

Bangladesh is one of the most densely populated countries in the world where population growth rate is 1.6 percent (Wikipedia). Early marriage is one of the important factors of population growth. This paper uses data from Bangladesh Demographic and Health Survey 2011 to examine different socio-economic and demographic factors that are correlated to age at first marriage of women in the rural area. Bivariate and multivariate logistic regression analyzes have been used to estimate the factors effect on age at first marriage. The results show that respondent’s education, husband’s education, husband’s occupation, religion, region and socio-economic status have a significant effect on age at first marriage of women in the rural area by both Cross-tabulation and Logistic regression analyzes. Moreover, access to mass media has found a significant association with age at first marriage in the rural area by Cross-tabulation analysis.
