ABSTRACT: The aim of this study was to determine the diversity. composition. forest structure of a stretch of dense ombrophilous forest in the state of Amapá. The area is located in the east of the state of Amapá. in the Eastern Amazon. at the following coordinates: 2º 0’0.00 ’’ N. 14º 0’0.00’’O. The sampling process used was systematic. where nine plots of 1 ha (100 m x 100 m) were allocated. 0.5 km apart. within a 13 km long and 0.03 km wide transect. The horizontal structure of the forest was evaluated using phytosociological parameters. One thousand seven hundred and ninety trees were sampled in this study. they were distributed in 131 species. 69 genera and 48 families. The species that presented more individuals were Pouteria guianensis Aubl. (136). Eschweilera coriacea (DC.) S.A.Mori (78). Inga paraensis Ducke (45). Licania paraensis Prance (38). The area is highly diverse and dissimilar with great variability and complexity in vegetable formation.

Este trabalho teve como objetivo analisar a estrutura fitossociológica horizontal de um trecho da vegetação arbórea de uma floresta de tabuleiro. Foi realizada uma amostragem fitossociológica em 100 parcelas contíguas de 10 x 10 m, sendo amostrados os indivíduos com PAP ≥ 15 cm. Construiu-se a distribuição diamétrica e estimou-se o padrão de distribuição espacial das espécies. Foram amostrados 1519 indivíduos, distribuídos entre 265 espécies, 138 gêneros e 44 famílias. O índice de Shannon (H’) estimado foi de 4,87 nats/ind. As espécies com os maiores VI foram Rinorea bahiensis (Moric.) Kuntze, Eriotheca macrophylla (K. Schum.) A. Robyns e Sterculia speciosa K. Schum. Em relação aos grupos ecológicos, as secundárias tardias obtiveram mais que o dobro do VC e VI das secundárias iniciais. A distribuição diamétrica apresentada pelas pioneiras foi truncada, sendo que a das secundárias iniciais foi ampla. A predominância de espécies tolerantes ao sombreamento nos estágios iniciais de crescimento reforça a ideia de que o estádio sucessional encontra-se avançado. Foram encontradas 10 espécies com padrão de distribuição espacial agregado e 29 aleatório.Palavras-chave:Fitossociologia; estrutura horizontal; Floresta Ombrófila Densa; floresta de tabuleiro; floresta atlântica. AbstractHorizontal structure of Ombrophilous dense forest of lowlands in Sooretama Biological Reserve, Linhares. This work aimed to analyze horizontal structure of arboreal vegetation from a “tableland” forest. A phytosociological sample was carried out on 100 contiguous plots of 10 X 10 meters. We sampled the individuals with PBH ≥ 15 cm, built up the diametric distribution and estimated spatial species distribution pattern. We sampled 1519 individuals, which were distributed into 265 species, 138 genera and 44 families. Shannon’s Index (H’) was estimated at 4.87 nats/ind. Species with the highest IV were Rinorea bahiensis (Moric.) Kuntze, Eriotheca macrophylla (K. Schum.) A. Robyns and Sterculia speciosa K. Schum. In relation to ecological groups, the late secondary species obtained CV and IV, twice as much as the early secondary ones. Pioneers presented truncated diametric distribution, as long as the early secondary had a broader one. Shadow tolerant species predominance reinforces that successional stadium is advanced. R E S U M OO objetivo do presente estudo foi avaliar a influência da precipitação interna sobre a composição e estrutura da regeneração natural em um trecho de floresta ombrófila densa aluvial no estuário amazônico. Os dados foram coletados de fevereiro a julho de 2016, em quatro parcelas de 20 x 20m, subdivididas em subparcelas de 1 x 1m para análise da composição florística e estrutural da regeneração e instalados 11 pluviômetros para amostragem da precipitação. Houve pouca variação na quantidade de indivíduos, famílias, gêneros e espécies entre o período chuvoso e o menos chuvoso.  Pariana campestris Aubl., Anthurium sinuatum Benth. ex, Schott, Costus arabicus L. e Costus spicatus (Jacq.) Sw. foram mais representativas devido aos impactos antrópicos na área. Conclui-se que não houve influência da precipitação interna na abundância e na riqueza de espécies da regeneração natural.Palavras-chave: Floresta de várzea; florística; estrutura.  A B S T R A C T The objective of the present study was to evaluate the influence of internal precipitation on the composition and structure of natural regeneration in an alluvial dense ombrophilous forest in the Amazonian estuary. The data were collected from february to july 2016, in four 20 x 20m plots, subdivided into 1x1m subplots to analyze the floristic and structural composition of the regeneration and using 11 pluviometers to sample the precipitation. There was little variation in the number of individuals, families, genera and species between the rainy season and the less rainy season. Pariana campestris Aubl., Anthurium sinuatum Benth. Schott, Costus arabicus L. and Costus spicatus (Jacq.) Sw. were more representative due to anthropic impacts on the area. It was concluded that there was no influence of internal precipitation on the abundance and richness of natural regeneration species.Keywords: Floodplain forest, Floristic, Structure.

An unusual new species of Eremocaulon, a Neotropical woody bamboo genus, is here described and illustrated. Eremocaulon triramis occurs in dense ombrophilous forest and is apparently endemic to Espírito Santo state, Brazil. The diameter and indument of the culms, number of branches in the branch complement, and occurrence of two different forms of fimbriae on the foliage leaves allow this taxon to be recognized as distinct from its congeners, even in the vegetative condition. Reproductively, E. triramis differs from its congeners in having laminiferous subtending bracts in the pseudospikelets and four stamens. Illustrations, photos, a detailed description, comments on morphology, habitat, distribution, and conservation status are provided, as well as a key to all species of Eremocaulon.

ResumoO presente estudo verificou a influência dos contingentes florísticos sobre a composição e estrutura de uma sinúsia florestal na região central do Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil. O estudo foi realizado no município de Sinimbu, em uma floresta decidual, onde foram demarcadas 100 unidades amostrais contíguas, totalizando 1 ha. Todos os indivíduos com diâmetro à altura do peito ≥ 4,8 cm foram amostrados e identificados. As famílias com maior riqueza específica foram Myrtaceae (18), Fabaceae (16) e Euphorbiaceae (10). A maior parte das espécies e dos indivíduos amostrados é de ampla distribuição geográfica. Uma elevada proporção das espécies pertenceu ao contingente das florestas estacionais, entretanto, este apresentou baixo número de indivíduos. O contingente Atlântico apresentou, além de um baixo número de indivíduos, também baixa riqueza. A comunidade apresentou três estratos de altura, todos com predominância de plantas de ampla distribuição geográfica.Palavras-chave: Fitogeografia; flora; unidade de conservação; vale do Rio Pardo. AbstractFloristic-geographic relationships in a forest structure at the central region of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. This work studied the influence of floristic contingents on the composition and structure of a forest in the central region of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The study was carried out in the County of Sinimbu, in a deciduous forest, where 100 contiguous sampling units that totaled 1 ha were established. All individuals with DBH ≥ 4,8 cm were identified and measured. The richest families were Myrtaceae (18), Fabaceae (16) and Euphorbiaceae with 10 species. Most of the species surveyed are widely distributed across southern Brazilian vegetation formations. A large proportion of species belonged to the western seasonal contingent, although it has had contributed with few individuals. The eastern wet contingent presented both, low percentage of species and individuals. The community showed three height layers, all of them showing dominance of wide geographical distribution species.Keywords: Phytogeography; flora; conservation unit; Rio Pardo valley.

Juliomys ossitenuis was previously known from the Atlantic Forest of southeastern Brazil, where it occurs in Dense Ombrophilous Forest. The record of the species in Floresta Nacional de Piraí do Sul, in Paraná state, confirmed by morphological and cytogenetic analyses, extends its distribution about 200 km southwards. This is the first record of the species in the state and in an area of Mixed Ombrophilous Forest (Araucaria Forest).

Abstract The paper attempts to determine an optimum structure of a directional measurement and control network intended for investigating horizontal displacements. For this purpose it uses the notion of entropy as a logarithmical measure of probability of the state of a particular observation system. An optimum number of observations results from the difference of the entropy of the vector of parameters ΔHX̂ (x)corresponding to one extra observation. An increment of entropy interpreted as an increment of the amount of information about the state of the system determines the adoption or rejection of another extra observation to be carried out.

The сlassification of geosystem used in mapping is based on a system-hierarchic approach to detecting the co-involvement of landscape taxons. At the same time, we took into account the positioning of individual territories in the system of physical- geographical regionalization. The complexity of the landscape structure of the studied territory is due to its location at the junction of high- and lowland regions belonging to four physical-geographical areas. In the area under study, we identified and described more than 200 groups of fairies, which were then typed into classes of facies, geomes, and groups of geomes. Geoinformation mapping is performed using vector topographic basis and Earth remote sensing data. The decryption of synthesized space images was carried out manually and was based on field landscape surveys data. Digitization and indexing of landscape contours, creation, design and layout of the map were carried out in GIS MapInfo Professional. The cartographical analysis revealed regional differences in the complexity of landscape horizontal structures of high- and lowland regions, as well as the composition and structure of typological spectra of regional geosystems. Lowland geosystems mostly have a fairly uniform horizontal structure and large areas of landscape patterns. At the same time, mountain areas are characterized by considerable complexity and contrast of landscape structure.

Serra da Pedra Branca (SPB) is a mountain range located in the Southwestern portion of the state Minas Gerais, in the municipality of Caldas (21°58′-21°55′S, 46°24′-46°22′W). It is a striking feature in the landscape, between 1100 and 1780 m.s.m., in a region that is part of the Atlantic Forest Domain and is considered as a priority area for conservation of the flora in Minas Gerais state. The vegetation is composed by a mosaic of “campo de altitude” (which occupy the greatest extension in the area), Seasonal Semidecidual Montane Forest, Dense Ombrophilous High-Montane Forest and Mixed Ombrophilous Forest. The aims of this study was the elaboration of a floristic survey of SPB added to the specimens collected by Anders Fredrik Regnell in the nineteenth century in Caldas and to analyze its floristic similarity with altitude areas of the Southeastern Region of Brazil. There were recorded 502 vascular plant species, distributed in 274 genera and 100 families. The majority of recorded species present herbaceous habit, terricolous, saxicolous and/or rupicolous (representing around 58% of recorded species), predominantly occurring in the “campo de altitude” (ca. 46%). The richest families were Polypodiaceae (20 spp.) and Dryopteridaceae (10 spp.) among the ferns, and Orchidaceae (56 spp.), Asteraceae (27 spp.) and Fabaceae (26 spp.) among the angiosperms. Just one species of gymnosperm was recorded, Araucaria angustifolia (Bertol.) Kuntze (Araucariaceae). Five new records were made for the Minas Gerais flora, 13 species are cited as threatened with extinction in the state and at least six are endemic to SPB. Amongst 127 species collected in XIX century in the region, only 29 collected again, while 375 new records were made for SPB. The analysis of floristic similarity performed between the flora of SPB and other altitude areas of Southeastern Region revealed isolation of SPB in relation to other areas, highlighting its floristic peculiarity, which can probably be explained by its location in a distinct hydrographic basin. The vegetation of the SPB must be considered as endangered since the presence of endemic species and/or threatened species, associated with local environmental conditions suffering accelerated rate of destruction, highlight the need for urgent actions to preserve local biodiversity.

This study assessed the impact produced by a wildfire and an infectious outbreak led by an oomycete pseudofungi, both occurred in 2015, on the state of Araucaria-Lenga forests of the China Muerta Reserve, placed in the southern Andes of Chile. To do this, a greenness vegetation spectral index was calculated over a multitemporal set of Landsat-8 images, acquired biannually on near-anniversary dates, which was subject to subtractions between ex-ante (2013) and ex-post dates (2015, 2017, 2019). Results show the magnitude and temporal progression of both disturbances, highlighting the celerity and aggressiveness of the wildfire. Although the affected vegetation land covers currently show values close to the recovery of the primal biomass, the inclusion of field-based data to deepen the possible composition and structure variations of these forests is needed.

AbstractColletotrichum lindemuthianum, the causal agent of anthracnose in the common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris), presents a wide genetic and pathogenic variability that gives rise to complications in the development of resistant bean cultivars. The aim of this study was to identify the variability within race 65 of C. lindemuthianum, the race most commonly encountered in Brazil, through randomly amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) and anastomosis analyses. Thirteen isolates of race 65, collected in different years and from various host cultivars located in diverse areas of the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil, were investigated. Twenty-four RAPD primers were employed and 83 polymorphic bands amplified. Genetic similarities were estimated from the Sorensen-Dice coefficient and ranged from 0.54 to 0.82. The dendrogram obtained by cluster analysis classified the isolates into 11 separate groups. For the purposes of the analysis of anastomosis, isolates were considered to be compatible when the fusion of hyphae from different isolates could be observed. The proportion of compatible reactions for each isolate was estimated and similarity estimates, based on the Russel & Rao coefficient, ranged from 0.28 to 0.85. Isolates were classified into 11 anastomosis groups, 10 of which were formed by only one isolate. Although isolates LV61, LV73 and LV58 were classified in the same anastomosis group, they were genetically distinct according to RAPD analysis. Results from both RAPD and anastomosis analyses revealed great variability within C. lindemuthianum race 65.
