The aim of the paper is to identify the factors influencing consumers when beer consumption and when choosing restaurants for beer consumption in the Czech Republic (CR). A partial goal was to compare preferences and factors influencing beer consumers from the Vysočina Region and the South-Moravian Region. The survey included a questionnaire survey, which 408 respondents took part in. The results showed that the most influential factors in the selection of beer for consumers are taste, a high-quality brand, and Czech production. Surprisingly, price was not found to be an influential factor in beer selection but is rather neutral. Factors that influence consumers most when choosing a restaurant for beer consumption were also identified. Consumers are most influenced by the quality of the beer on offer and the environment in which it is consumed.

Research background: Accounting records provide a wide range of data necessary for decisions of the management as well as for users of a company’s financial statements. IFRS represents one of the widely accepted accounting principles, often mentioned in relation to the preparation of high-quality financial statements. Purpose of the article: The aim of this paper is to identify the factors contributing to the occurrence of misstatements when preparing financial statements under IFRS. The subsequent goal is to identify the possible influences of such misstatements on the users of the financial statements. Methods: The research itself focuses on perceived problems in IFRS application in the Czech Republic. The total tested population is 193 Czech companies preparing their financial statements under IFRS. Descriptive statistics, the chi-square test of independence along with proportional tests, are used for the statistical data analysis. Findings & Value added: The results indicate that, while misstatements in accounting do not occur regularly, a statistical dependence can be shown be-tween the frequency of misstatements occurrence and the average size of mis-statements. The frequency of the subsequently identified misstatements is also proven to be statistically dependent on the average size of misstatements. The IFRS themselves are not proven to influence misstatement occurrences in financial statements, which is in contrast with previous studies. Managerial pressures, similarly to other studies, are proven by the research to be affecting the quality of accounting information. This paper broadens the literature on the factors influencing the quality of financial statements prepared under IFRS and simultaneously reaches conclusions disproving the frequently noted bene-fits of IFRS implementation.

The quality of universities in the present era is the subject of ever more discussion in the Czech Republic and the EU. Quality is determined both quantitatively and qualitatively, and ever more importance is placed on ratings by students and graduates. The objective of this article is to identify and evaluate factors influencing the motivation of students to seek higher education and their expectations regarding the quality of a university. The data was obtained using questionnaire-based investigation among the students of a state university (n = 293) and was analysed using descriptive and multivariate statistics. The results identified seven factors that influence the motivation and expectations of students, of which the most significant are quality personnel providing instruction, building social status, development of competencies, and the quality of the education process in relation to employment. The recommendations presented can help other universities to implement suitable personnel marketing and to gain sustainable competitive advantage.

Abstract The study identifies the main beer consumption determinants in the Czech Republic and quantifies their influence on the beer consumption. The analysis covers three areas – identification of the main determinants of Czech beer consumption, quantification of the influence of these factors on beer consumption, and examination of beer consumption forecasting possibilities. Time series of selected variables containing annual data of the 1994–2014 period are analysed. The main determinants are defined in accord with the general economic theory, their influence is measured using an econometric model, and quality of the model for prognostic purposes is verified using an ex-post prognosis. Based on empirical analysis, the price of lager beer, income, and influence of financial crisis were determined as the main determinants of Czech beer consumption. In addition, inelastic reaction of beer consumption on their changes was proven. The estimated model may be considered suitable for prognostic purposes. The Czech beer market and/or beer consumption in the examined period can be considered as specific, but stable.

This study provides an analysis of further professional education of university teachers in the Czech Republic and in selected European countries. Subsequently, it presents an international project with participants from the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Slovakia and Poland, which, ultimately, plays a role in the improvement of the quality of higher education.

Unemployment is one of the economic problems in Indonesia. Judging from the level of education that was completed there were unemployment from the level of college graduates. This encourages the level of competition in getting jobs to be more stringent, so that college graduates (bachelor of Statistics in IPB) must have the preparation of various factors to maintain the quality of their graduates. The quality of college graduates can be seen from the length of time waiting to get a job. This study aims to determine the influential factors in getting a job for graduates of the IPB Statistics degree, so that the CHAID method can be used in this study. The results of CHAID's analysis in this study in the form of tree diagrams using α = 10% explained that the factors influencing the waiting period variables were sex, internship, and the ability to master statistical software, where the accuracy value generated by the classification model was 79.3 %.

This paper deals with the analysis of risks which threaten the future sustainability and operations of agricultural museums in the Czech Republic. In the section on methodology, an applicable risk model has been proposed regarding the condition of museums in the Czech Republic. Using this model, the directors of agricultural museums can assess the most significant risks which may jeopardize the sustainability of museum operations over a three-year period. The greatest risks, according to museum directors, are a lack money for investment, the inability to retain high-quality staff, and issues with technical support for exhibitions. Assessing the importance of risk is positively associated with previous experiences of a particular type of risk, whereas the association of the importance of risk with previous managerial practice is rather inconclusive.

This is an empirical and quantitative study conducted on small scale live entrepreneurs and potential entrepreneurs of university level students of Bangladesh. The main purpose of this study is to identify and examine the factors influencing decision of becoming an entrepreneur. For fulfilling the study purpose, by using simple random sampling technique a total of 600 questionnaires were administered; 300 were distributed to the students who were interested to become entrepreneurs and 300 questionnaires were also distributed to small scale live entrepreneurs who formed their business during the last two years and more. Data were analyzed according to objectivity. The results indicated that need for achievement is highly influential factor in picking up decision of becoming an entrepreneur of potential entrepreneurs of university level students and family business background is the main influential factor in taking decision of becoming an entrepreneur of the small scale live entrepreneurs. Parallel factors, e.g., locus of control, risk taking propensity and proactive personality also acted as the influential factors of creating entrepreneurial affinity in both of them.Journal of Business and Technology (Dhaka) Vol.10(1) 2015; 1-20
