The study purpose was to determine the impact of physical education classes on the dynamics of motor fitness of 5th-6th grade students. Materials and methods. The study participants were 17 5th grade boys and 17 6th grade boys. The study used the following methods: analysis of scientific and methodological literature, pedagogical testing and methods of mathematical statistics for processing the study results. Thematic planning of educational work was carried out based on the updated physical education curriculum for 5th-9th grades of general educational institutions. Results. There are statistically significant changes in the 5th grade boys’ results of educational standards: Test 2 “Shuttle run 4×9 m (sec)” and Test 4 “Standing long jump (cm)” (p < 0.05). The results in Test 2 improve by 6.2 %, in Test 4 by 7.1 %. There are statistically significant changes in the 6th grade boys’ results of educational standards: Test 2 “Shuttle run 4×9 m (sec)” (p < 0.1) and Test 4 “Standing long jump (cm)” (p < 0.05). The results in Test 2 improve by 4.4 %, in Test 4 by 12.9 %. Conclusions. Discriminant analysis revealed that by the multivariate mean the boys’ motor fitness at the beginning and end of the school year is classified as two different states. This indicates a positive impact of physical education classes on the dynamics of motor fitness of 5th and 6th grade boys.The level of schoolchildren’s motor fitness depends on coordination and speed-strength training carried out during physical education classes.

The purpose of the study was to determine the dynamics of motor and functional fitness of 6th grade boys of an underfilled school during the school year under quarantine conditions. Materials and methods. The study involved 6th grade boys (n = 6), who were 11 years old at the beginning of the experiment. The study used methods of mathematical statistics for processing research results, analysis of scientific and methodological literature, testing to assess schoolchildren’s motor and functional fitness. Study results. The indices of the 6th grade students’ motor fitness deteriorated significantly after quarantine. A comparative analysis of the arithmetic mean of the indices showed that in shuttle run 4x9 m (agility) the results deteriorated by 3%, push-ups (strength) by 24.1%, pull-ups (strength) by 41.6%, bent arm hang (strength) by 18.8%, standing long jump (speed and strength qualities) by 1.29%, trunk bend in lying support (flexibility) by 41.5%.  As of September 2020, the indices of functional fitness of the 6th grade students also decreased. A comparative analysis of the arithmetic mean of the indices showed that in Shtange test the results deteriorated by 12.6%, and in Genchi test by 14.3%. The introduced quarantine measures and distance learning have negatively affected the schoolchildren’s motor and functional fitness. Conclusions. During the school year, the boys show a positive dynamics of results, and after quarantine measures there is negative dynamics, due to the lack of physical education classes. The testing results indicate the possibility of improving physical education classes, increasing motor activity, enhancing the level of motor fitness, based on the sensitive period of children’s development and individual approach to each school student.

Abstract Dynamic games can contribute to the growth of the efficiency, motivation in developing the quality of the movement for children with special educational needs, if the psycho-physiological particularities in the training of these children are followed, if the most efficient methods and means of achieving the purpose, a good staging of the training process with a proper dosage of the effort and with a growth of the quality in organizing and leading the activity are used. The purpose of the paper was to select among the movement games the most efficient ones for the developing of the movement quality, to explain them during physical education classes and the obtained results to demonstrate their efficiency in achieving the goal. To achieve this study, we started from the following hypothesis: we assume that by predominantly using the dynamic games during the physical education classes we can achieve a growth of the indices of the movement quality in children with special educational needs. Methods and materials: In this aspect, we built a set of tests (Long jump, speed running – 50 meters, Shuttle run 5x10m, throwing rounders ball) with which we operated in two periodical assessments during an entire school year. The place of this study was at the “St. Andrew” Inclusive Education Scholar Center from Gura Humorului. These two classes of students had one weekly hour of physical education in their timetable. Results and conclusions: Using the results of the physical assays as reference elements, the accumulations of the pupils during the research concerning the movement quality had emerged. In conclusion, if age and individual particularities of the pupils, didactical canons are followed, if proper preparatory games are selected and the planned activity happens in a systematic way with responsibility, the results won’t hesitate to appear.

The main purpose of this study was to determine the impact of somatotypic profile and body mass index on the physical conditions of 12-14 year-old students, based on the results of tests for assessment to motor skills included in assessment system at the Physical education and sports in schools. The 64 young men and 70 girls we will explore are from two different schools in Blagoevgrad, which subsequently were divided into four groups: two groups for the boys and two for the girls. The study groups have antropometrichal parameters: height - 161.5 ± 8.2 cm, weight - 55.25 ± 18.26, and BMI of 21.01 ± 5.82 (M ± SD) for the boys and height 159.7 ± 7.22 cm, weight 52.02 ± 10.66 and BMI (kg / m2) 20.36 ± 3.85 (M ± SD) for the girls. The participants of this study completed 4 tests to determine the level of physical fitness, which are included in the System for Control and Assessment of the Achievements of the Students in Physical Education and Sports, used in the second stage of the primary education in Bulgaria until 2019 year. The functional tests were: for boys they are: 50m (sec) sprint running; 600 m (sec) for endurance; throwing a medicine ball 3 kg (cm) and standing long jump with both feet. For the girls: 50m (sec) sprint; 300m (sec) for endurance; sit ups (pc) and standing long jump with both feet (cm). The Score are from 1 to 5, depending on the value of the result. The somatotype was measured using the Heath-Carter method. The results show mean values for endomorph of 4.44 ± 1.47, for mesomorph of 4.94 ± 2.4, and for ectomorph of 3.12 ± 1.57 for the girls (mesomorph-endomorph) and values (M ± SD) of 3, 50 ± 1.58 for endomorphism, 5.74 ± 3.04 for mesomorphy and 3.28 ± 1.77 ectomorphy for the boys (balanced-mesomorph). We used GraphPad Prism version 3.0, for statistical analysis. The correlations between somatotype index, body mass index, and results of functional tests were calculated by coefficient of Pearson (p<0,05). We checked all possible relationships between ectomorphic, mesomorphic, and ectomorphic index with condition test results. Only 6 of them having significant correlation: between mesomorph and result of 50 m at Male7 r = 0.331, p = 0.048; between the ectomorph and the result of 50 m at Female7 r = -0.346, p = 0.045; between endomorph and 50 m result at Female7 r = 0.459, p = 0.006; between the endomorph and the result of a jump from the site at F7 r = -0.414, p = 0.0015; between mesomorphs and the result of a standing long jump of Female7 r = -0.519, p = 0.0016; between ectomorphs and a score of 50 m at Female1 r = -0.3359, p = 0.043 (Pearson). The most significant correlation was found between the BMI index and the 50 m result at Male7 r = 0.832, p <0.0001 (Pearson). We identified 11 of a total of 64 possible combinations; five of which between functional capability, BMI and six with somatotype index; five were low correlations (0.3–0.5) in the range r = 0.300– 0.340; only three high positive correlations were found in the range r = 0.693 - 0.832, p <0.0001 (Pearson); seven correlation dependencies were established with the result of the test for 50 m (sec); three with a jump test (cm) and one with 600 m (sec). In conclusion we can say that our hypothesis is not confirmed, because despite the normal weight, BMI and good somatotypic profile of the subjects , they have no statistically significant effect on the functional capabilities of students.

Purpose : to determine the influence of coordination abilities on the development of speed-power qualities in 7-8 years old schoolchildren with a different type of nervous system. Material : the pedagogical experiment was conducted in a regular school and lasted 7 months. The study involved children 7-8 years old (n = 60). All schoolchildren were differentiated into 3 groups (in each group - n = 20). Coordination abilities were determined by the test “3x10 shuttle run”. Speed- power qualities were determined by the test “Standing Long Jump”. The strength of the nervous system was diagnosed according to the “Tapping test” method. Results : it was determined that it is necessary to develop the coordination abilities of 7-8 years old schoolchildren. It was determined the interrelation of coordination abilities and speed-power qualities. It was confirmed the effectiveness of a differentiated approach based on the typology of children. The results were realized at physical education lessons at school. Conclusion : it is recommended to develop coordination abilities during 12-15 minutes in physical education classes for schoolchildren. Such training will be more effective if consider the typology of the nervous system of schoolchildren.

Research in preschool children that investigates the impact of different exercise interventions on physical fitness is limited. This pre–post study was aimed at determining if participation in a nine-month structured multisport program (MSG; n = 38) could enhance physical fitness components compared to a formal exercise program (control group (CG); n = 36) among preschool children. Physical fitness was assessed using standardized tests (the standing long jump, sit and reach, 20 m sprint, sit-ups for 30 s, bent-arm hang, medicine ball throw (MBT), grip strength, 4 × 10 m shuttle run, and 20 m shuttle run tests). The structured multisport program involved fundamental/gross and fine motor skills and ball game-based exercises twice a week. The control group was free of any programmed exercise except for the obligatory program in kindergartens. A mixed ANOVA demonstrated significant group-by-time interaction effects for the 4 × 10 m shuttle run, standing long jump, sit-ups, bent-arm hang, grip strength, and sit and reach tests (p < 0.05). There was no significant group-by-time interaction effect for the 20 m sprint test (p = 0.794) or for the 20 m shuttle run test (p = 0.549). Moreover, the MSG and CG performance in the MBT and 20 m shuttle run tests improved to a similar extent from pre- to post-test. Our results indicate that compared to the formal plan, the structured multisport program led to a sustained improvement in physical fitness in healthy 5-to-6-year old children.

This study compared different groups yearly based on the different annual quota of Physical Education (PE) classes in anthropometric parameters, physical fitness tests, and grades achievements. The study included adolescents from 14 to 18 years of age, at the Croatian Industrial School in Slavonski Brod. They were 225 participants in the 2015-2016 academic year, 213 in 2016-2017, 200 in 2017-2018, and 318 in 2017-2018. Groups were determined yearly by the different annual quota of PE classes (1 or 2 per week) in the teaching program. Anthropometric measures (body height, body weight, BMI), physical fitness tests (standing long jump, sit-ups, run for 1000 m), grade in the PE class, and the general achievement grade at the end of the school year were conducted. Data collected from the 2015-2016 until the 2018-2019 academic year. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to assess the differences between groups for each school year separately. Results for sit-ups and run for 1000 m test in 2015-2016, BMI in 2018-2019, and the grade of PE class in 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 academic year indicated significant differences between groups (p<0.05). The groups with 2 PE classes per week were made better results compared to the groups with 1 PE class. Therefore, increasing the number of PE classes per week should be necessary for achieving the positive, beneficial, physical, and mental outcomes of Physical Education.

Abstract This study presents the evaluation of chosen anthropometric and motor parameters in group of female junior competitors throughout the course of 2-year preparation of aerobic gymnastics by means of Z-scores. The observed group consisted of 12 girls (average age at the beginning of observance 14.08 ± 1.19 years). Evaluation of anthropometric (body height, body weight, body mass index, percentage of body fat, acting body weight) and motor parameters (sit-ups in 30 seconds and 60 seconds, pull-ups to bar, modified push-ups, standing long jump, backwards tandem walking, shuttle run 4×10 m, Jacík’s test) was carried out in standard conditions in nine girls at 3-month intervals. It has been confirmed that female probands with higher Z-score of motor parameters together with lower Z-score of anthropometric parameters achieved higher sport performance during the 2-year observance at competitions, with an exception of one such proband.

The aim of the research is to determine the effects of the arthistic gymnastics program on the Physical fitness of adolescents. The sample of participants consisted of 28 participants, males, aged 14 years ± 6 months, seventh grade of "Bubanjski Heroji" elementary school in Niš. The sample was divided into two subgroups. The experimental group (EG) consisted of 14 participants who, during the experimental period, realized the program of artistic gymnastics during the main phase of a physical education class, ten weeks in two classes of 45 minutes. The control group (CG) consisted of 14 participants who during the experimental period realized the program contents of regular physical education in the main phase of physical education. The sample of motorized measuring instruments consisted of three variables of explosive power (standing long jump, triple jump off the site and vertical jump) and three variants of sprint run (20m flat out with a flying start flat out with a flying start, 30m flat out with a flying start flat out with a flying start and 50m flat out with a flying start flat out with a flying start). The program "Statistica" 8.0 for Windows was used, for calculation of basic statistics, canonical discriminatory analysis and multivariate analysis of covariates. The results of the study showed that there are statistically significant effects of the use of the artistic gymnastics exercises in the main part of the physical education course on the Physical fitness of the adolescent of the EG at the end of the experimental period.

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of physical activity with music on motor development and performance in children with developmental deficiencies. The study includes twenty children with developmental deficiencies, aged between 10-15 years old. Children were classified into two groups randomly and both groups were given 1 hour of training 3 days a week for 20 weeks. Physical activity with English and Spanish verbal song was used for the first group and only physical activity for the second group. Each participant participated in shuttle, shuttle run, flexibility, standing long jump, vertical jump tests.  The fatigue parameter of children was evaluated using the Visual Analog Scale. As a result of this study, it has been shown that physical activity with music is more effective method to improve motor development and performance levels of children with developmental deficiencies.

The objective of the study was to examine the level of strength fitness indicators of 10-year-old boys who do Kyokushin Karate, and experimentally test the effectiveness of the impact of play techniques on the dynamics of strength development. Materials and methods. The study involved 40 10-year-old boys. The children and their parents were informed about all the features of the study and gave their consent to participate in the experiment. To achieve the objective set, the following research methods were used: analysis of scientific and methodological literature, pedagogical testing, and methods of mathematical statistics for processing research results. Results. There were the biggest changes in the results of the tests “Standing long jump” by 15.9% (р < 0.001), “Sit-ups in 30 s” by 16.0% (р < 0.001), “Pull-ups” by 18.3% (р < 0.001), and “Bent arm hang” by 15.6% (р < 0.001). The experimental group boys’ result of the “Standing long jump” changed from low to above average. The lowest increase in results was observed in the “Right hand grip test” by 7.2% (р < 0.001), “Left hand grip test” by 6.9% (р < 0.001), and“Push-ups” by 11.8% (р < 0.001). Conclusions. The initial level of the boys’ strength fitness is sufficient and conforms to age norms. Most of them had an average – 30.36%, an above average – 19.64%, and a high – 23.21% level of strength abilities development. The data obtained give reason to recommend that teachers and coaches use active games aimed at developing strength. As a result of using play load (5 games, 3 repetitions with rest intervals of 40 s), there was a statistically significant increase in strength indicators (р < 0.001).
