Creating and developing innovative business models (BM) is currently one of the key success factors for contemporary business. Rapid complex changes in the world reemphasize the need to better understand how BM can be successfully innovated in different markets. The digital component of BM innovation comes under a special spotlight, using the example of a company within the pharmaceutical industry. In particular, this study demonstrates how BM innovation can be developed and implemented in practice within the pharmaceutical market, which accelerates its digital transformation to increase the value it brings to the healthcare systems around the world while sustaining the ongoing crisis. In order to do that, the current paper offers a framework for BM innovation that defines BM elements, BM innovation aspects, and BM innovation logic. The study covers six markets that represent different value creation systems and mechanisms. This paper demonstrates how technological innovations can be activated using managerial tools and insights and also how they can be combined into the holistic system based on the needs of the key value chain actors.

The global pandemic is changing the world in significantly high speed and in many dimensions-economic, social, cultural, digital. Covid-19 certainly had a negative effect on all sectors requiring traveling and physical presence, including many arts and culture events and organisations, as well as sectors that are complementary to the culture and creative industries value chain. Despite, the global pandemic opened up new opportunities of living more among our communities, consuming more local products, reorganising our life to be more resilient, catalyzing both business and social innovations, using much more digital and online tools, including also for further increase of cultural participation and democratisation of the arts. In the last few months we have received plenty of evidences worldwide that culture does contribute to the economic and social vitality of cities across the world. This paper aims to identify the essence and key characteristics of "creative clusters" (CCs) and to offer a typology of their diverse forms of existence. It also summarises key business models and sources of external financial support for development of CCs. Finally, the paper draws key success factors for their development. The research for elaboration of this paper was done during 3-months long period (April-June 2020) in collaboration with Nikoloz Nadirashvili and Creative Georgia, within the framework of the Project - "Designing a Creative Cluster Ecosystem in Georgia" under the support of UNESCO and the European Commission. The research methods used for elaboration of this paper are: desk research of documents and publications, mapping and analysis of diverse cases and targeted in depth interviews with professionals and managers running creative clusters.

Innovation is one of the key success factors of contractors to achieve sustainable business. However, studies about innovation cannot be generalized to all business sectors. Therefore, special study about innovation that focuses on contractors in Indonesia is needed. The study is aimed to explore the process of innovation development in contractors, based on innovation value chain (IVC) approach. The qualitative analysis on the data that is collected from in depth interview with top managers of big contractors in Indonesia is carried out. This study found that innovations are generated mainly by project teams because they are involved directly in the project activities. The next phase is to test the idea of innovation in the selected projects in order to assess whether the innovation works well or not. Finally, the selected innovations will be set as a company standard and will be implemented in the subsequent projects.

Current research in the field of pervasive information systems is predominantly focused on technical and engineering issues. In this paper, we look at the value chain boundaries of pervasive information systems. We identify a new value chain comprised of (1) infostructures, (2) devices, (3) interfaces, and (4) smart spaces that form the core elements of a pervasive information environment. We further investigate how businesses can achieve competitive advantage in this value-chain through the design and delivery of pervasive products and services. Different stakeholders at each level of the value chain are identified by surveying current research in the area as well as specific firm-level strategies and business models to determine key success factors. Based on our survey, we offer several propositions towards a managerial framework for conceptualizing pervasive information systems in today's service-oriented organizations.

Previous research has increased our understanding of digital transformation (DT) and digital business ecosystems as independent topics. Less is known about how DT unfolds in digital business ecosystems. Such collaborative creation of digital innovations is affected by individual actors and by ecosystem as a whole. Based on an empirical case study of an ecosystem facilitator company and its digital business ecosystems as embedded cases, this paper contributes to the understanding of key success factors in new digital business ecosystems. The findings support collaborative governance as an important tool in leading the DT among multiple partners. Moreover, the findings present the concept of a common rulebook, including the practices, principles, guidelines, tools, handshakes, and boundaries, as an enabler for ways of working in an ecosystem. Managers can use this paper to increase their understanding on the governance of digital business ecosystems and to clarify their organisational expectations when participating in joint endeavours involving DT.

In this study, we are to explore (1) features of HR reengineering, (2) the impact of business digitalization strategies on digital transformation and HR engineering, (3) the impact of business digitalization strategies and HR reengineering on talent value creation, and present the results of a qualitative study that offers insight into 42 “thought units”, which were “categorizing” into four dimensions corresponding to our research questions: (1) plan, (2) do, (3) check, and (4) action. The “check” dimension corresponds to the four key features of HR reengineering related to business digitalization strategy, and how to create talent value when a company successfully implements business-led digital transformation, HR reengineering, and talent value creation, including (1) talent planning, (2) talent introduction, (3) talent adjustment, and (4) talent development.

The world has experienced an unprecedented growth in information and communication technologies (ICT) through the widespread use of personal computers, Internet, and mobile phones. The objectives of this chapter are to examine trends in ICT use in agriculture, identify key success factors for ICT utilization in agriculture, and investigate the implications of ICT-enabled value chains for the agribusiness industry. The chapter describes the strategic role of ICT in the development of both e-commerce and mobile commerce in agriculture globally. The chapter identifies the leading areas of ICT use in agriculture and agribusinesses as input procurement, production, marketing, food traceability, and financial service delivery. Producers are increasingly seeking ways to add value to their businesses by integrating ICT in the value chain. Similarly, consumers are becoming more knowledgeable about how they could use ICT to articulate their preferences. The chapter discusses key success factors for ICT applications affecting both the internal and external environment of agribusiness firms. The chapter concludes by drawing implications for ICT use in agriculture and agribusiness value chains.

This chapter covers the concept of e-business models and how they relate to the music video and television environments. After identifying the value creation chain of music and video broadcasting to provide a context for the chapter, it assesses independent producers and aggregators of content, important new factors in the value chain of entertainment, as well as the various mechanisms through which content is reproduced. Following a comparison of the music and video/television business models, a case study is presented which exemplifies the reconfigured value chain presented herein. The background, development, and outputs of Current TV are presented in order to highlight the ultimate issue clarified in this chapter–that the changing nature of music, video, and television broadcasting markets combined with faster broadband connection–will continue to underpin radical changes in both music and television industries.

Third party logistics (3PL) has been gaining importance in most places in the world. In India the implementation of 3PL practices has made its beginning and it is emerging as one of the fastest growing sectors. It is still a relatively new concept and not well understood among industry or academic professionals in India. This paper examines the Indian 3PL Supply Chain Management and practices with respect to the key success factors and growth strategies. After identifying the critical success factors SERVQUAL is applied to reveal the gap between their achievement and expectation. Respondents to the survey are categorized based on their rating of the key growth strategies on the basis of AHP.
