The high-temperature molten metal leakage accident and its secondary accidents have become urgent problems to be solved in the current metallurgical industry because of their destructive power. The description of the high temperature molten metal leakage accident structure is the basis for studying its evolution law. Based on the idea of collection, this article uses multiple case analysis methods to abstract the accident attributes, and constructs an accident institutionalized description framework with the content of accident types, internal attributes, environmental attributes, management attributes, and hazard assessment attributes. A structured description of the leak. Finally, the “4.18” ladle capping accident of Qinghe special steel in Tieling, Liaoning Province was selected for example verification, and the attribute relationship between the primary accident and the secondary accident was analyzed. The research results have reference value for studying the evolution law of high temperature molten metal leakage accidents and making emergency decisions.

The benefits of informal physical activity during recovery from childhood cancer have rarely been investigated. This study adopted a multiple case study approach to explore the impact of recreational cycling on childhood cancer survivors’ experiences of well- and ill-being. Three semistructured interviews were conducted over a 3-month period with four survivors to explore their experiences of physical, psychological, and social well- and ill-being. Within-case analysis followed by cross-case analysis identified three themes that captured their well- and ill-being experiences with recreational cycling and cancer: (a) cultivating feelings and emotions, (b) experiencing physical changes, and (c) encountering positive and negative social interactions. The results from this study show that recreational cycling may be a useful adjunct to conventional treatments for the self-management of multiple domains of well- and ill-being during recovery from childhood cancer.

The growth period prediction at the various physiological stage of spring maize is an essential component in agricultural management decisions. An Improved Climate Suitability (ICS) model was established by integrating temperature, precipitation, sunshine and soil moisture and setting individual weight coefficient in each subordinate function according to the observation data of spring maize growth and meteorological factors of 14 agrometeorological stations in the Liaoning Province of northeast China from 1981 to 2010. The predicted value (Bjk) and reference value (Bk) of the cumulative climatic suitability index were calculated by the ICS model for arranging farming activities in advance when the Bjk > Bk at the various physiological growth stage of spring maize. The ICS model was further verified by the observation data at the whole and various physiological stages of spring maize. The result showed that the Bjk was linearly correlated with the observed days at each physiological growth stage of spring maize with R² of 0.75-0.88, P<0.001, Thus, the Bjk can be used to determine the growth period of the various physiological stage of spring maize. The prediction days were significantly correlated with the observed days at the whole and each physiological growth stage of spring maize (R² of 0.57-0.98, P<0.001) with the absolute error (ABSE) of 1.1-4.1 d. Thus, the precision of the ICS model is acceptable for forecasting the growth period and arranging farming activities in advance. Thus, the ICS model should be promoted further in the management of spring maize plantation.

The previous chapters have included a comprehensive discussion of general issues concerning e-partnership management from both technology and people perspectives, and, continuing this theme, this chapter presents extended and systematic multiple case studies which allow a more profound exploration of the way in which companies have partnered in e-business. It also contains an in-depth examination of specific issues and problems raised in e-partnerships. The cases selected for the case studies represent a broad range of interests, from big brand dotcoms like Yahoo! and Google to a small manufacturer that has embraced e-business and e-partnership technologies and practices. The case studies are followed by a cross-case analysis of the key issues in relation to the development of e-partnerships. Key successful factors are identified from the successful cases, along with the hard lessons learned from failure.

Experiments on granite under uniaxial compression at high temperature of 25~850°C and after high temperature of 25~1300°C were conducted to study the effect of temperature on rock strength and deformation quality. The results show that: (1) Fitting curves between temperature strain and thermal expansion coefficient with temperature are closely first order growth exponential function relation at high temperature. Temperature strain has mutagenicity after high temperature, which can not reflect rock deformation law at high temperature exactly. (2)Mechanical properties of granite weak continuously at high temperature. Compressive strength and elastic modulus show second order attenuation trend of exponential law. But mechanical properties show mutation state after high temperature, which is closely related to the alteration of rock crystal form and brittle-ductile transition. Regression curves between compressive strength and elastic modulus with temperature are closely polynomial curve. The results reflect the fundamental regulation of granite’s interior structure changing under the action of different temperature, which will provide some reference value to rock engineering involved in high temperature.

Abstract Current environmental issues have affected the logic for promoting development strategies and social construction processes of new ruralities. Therefore, rural territories start connecting their socio-productive settings to high demands that come from environmental issues. In this scenario, little attention has been given to relations that the Geographic Indications (GI) based strategies have established with environmental issues, whose strategic interest lies in the scope of multiple correlations of power that cross contemporary societies. Through a multiple case analysis, by contrasting contexts from Brazil and Spain, we used this theoretical approach to analyze how environmental issues, in face of conservationist approaches towards enhancing biodiversity, have permeated the production of senses, the narratives, the conflicts and positioning of the players involved in GI experiences in different Iberian-American contexts.
