The e-commerce industry in India is growing as fast, as booming, and as expanding at a larger rate. The concept of online shopping has attracted the Indian population tremendously. Exposure to information and communication technology has been highly instrumental in e-commerce success.After the development pertained to technology, science, and information, ICT has virtually become a companion in the life of people. In emerging economies like India, the majority ofInternet users are under the age of 35, a number that is significantly higher thanthat of the developed economies. This age group loves to shop and has grown as asignificant buying group that has crossed the number of 700 million internet consumers by 2020. The huge size of the customer base of the young generation has brought a significant revolution in all industries undoubtedly. The earning capability of this generation is also expected to makethe young generation an important consumer after they enter the workforce. The workforce analytics has also shown the proven data of usage of internet among youngsters and growing industries like logistics.  Togain long term success, online retailers must involve young consumers whoare technologically savvy and have significant purchasing power (Hanford, 2005).As Logistics ensures the movement of goods/services from one place to another place, the fulfillment of its main objective wholly lies on the technology which maps that the right product reaches the right person at the right time at the right place in the right condition and the right cost. Mobile devices working across the world proves this point.

Globalization is the increasing interaction of peoples, states or countries through the growth of the global trade, international flow of capital, ideas and culture. The paper discusses how privatization of public corporations and invention of information and communication technology (ICT) lead to the retrenchment and casualization of public servant. The aim of this study is to examines the impact of globalization on the public servant in Nigeria. The methodology involves the use of secondary data, through a systematic literature review which entails the document analysis of related matters. The findings reveal that globalization infringes on the right of a public servant by making them vulnerable without job security. The paper concludes that government must stop unfair labor practice such as retrenchment and casualization of workers, and improve good working conditions to make public servant more productive.

Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) have proved their cost effectiveness in extending the reach of the traditional classroom education to thousands of learners across the globe. However, many questions have been raised regarding the educational effectiveness of these MOOC models. In particular, the lack of personalization, social interactions, and credibility have been cited as some of the most important factors that create uncertainties regarding the viability of the MOOC based educational models. In the last couple of decades, Web-based businesses including online retailers, electronic marketplaces and online portals have successfully integrated information and communication technology (ICT) led initiatives and evolved to become viable business models. The focus of this chapter is to analyze the challenges of the current MOOC based educational models and suggest how they can adopt ICT tools to transform into MOOC 2.0 - the next generation of MOOCs.

Collaborative cross-sector business models for sustainability innovation (CCSBMSI) in response to grand challenges are rich foci for tensions. This is the case of CCSBMSI targeting independent living through Information and Communication Technology–enabled care. This research aims at identifying the relevant tensions, understanding their interactions, and assessing how they can be effectively managed so that CCSBMSI become more valuable for partners and transformative for society. A conceptual framework that understands the management of interrelated institutional and interorganizational tensions as a dynamic capability is substantiated through in-depth, qualitative analysis of the long-term dynamics of a four-sector CCSBMSI in telecare—including government, businesses, nonprofits, and informal actors. Its effects on the transition of business models in terms of value creation, delivery, and capture; on relevant stakeholders—particularly nonprofits and beneficiaries; and on the development of the sustainability innovation are discussed. The conceptualization, tension categories, and management capabilities of CCSBMSI are amplified.

Knowledge management (KM) attracts more and more attention nowadays in either research or practice. Organisations often spend a lot of time and money to launch strategic KM initiatives without first assessing whether or not their culture is ready for the implementation of such initiatives. If the culture is not ready for implementing the initiatives, the effort put will rarely produce significant long-term benefits. Instead, employees will perceive them as a waste of time, and participate less actively in the KM initiatives. In this paper, a KM culture assessment tool (KMCAT) is purposely developed for assessing the organisational culture so as to ensure the success of implementation of KM initiatives. The KMCAT takes into account coherence, control, alliance and partnership, information and communication technology as well as innovation, which help an organisation to reveal culture profiles and hence provide directions for managing the culture. A case study of applying the KMCAT is undertaken in an aviation company and encouraging results are obtained.

In the era of globalization the development of economy in each country is determined on how they develop and utilize Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in their business activity. However, Marketing Public Relations (MPR) is also the most appropriate strategy for Education institute, because in nature education institute has to create long term relationship with their student. Therefore MPR should at least encompass three disciplines of studies and professions, in which are strategic management, marketing and public relations. For BINUS Center, awareness can be gain through referral activity. Advocacy or referral have dominant effect in building trust (believe), other than that publication also play a role in creating a trustworthy image towards BINUS Center. Marketing Public Relation is an effective marketing strategy for ICT education. Based on the quantitative research the majority of BINUS Center target market is in the age bracket 18-22 years old. In correlation with that fact the qualitative research has shown that MPR is effective in supporting the enrollment decision towards BINUS Center.

The importance of learning objectives requires the use of appropriate media so that learning runs effectively and efficiently. The learning media is very important in supporting the learning process and is often overlooked by teachers for various reasons, including limited time, difficulty finding the right media, and also limited funds. With a variety of IT-based and service devices, lecturers and students can access them online and there are applications that make it free for users. Among them are blog users as learning media. This community service activity aims to introduce information and communication technology in the form of Web-Blogs that will later help students who will be prepared to become teacher candidates to modify learning media. The implementation of community service in general can be categorized as successful in terms of participant participation. Participants felt that this dedication activity was very useful for developing web-blog-based learning media that they would use in later learning. The participants' responses to the service activities carried out stated that from the quality of the speakers, the quality of the modules was very good.

The use of blogs as an alternative learning media aims to enable students to explore the material posted by teachers in blogs that can be studied more flexibly and differently from conventional learning processes, so that blogs are the right learning media in a more effective and attractive teaching and learning process.</em>

Abstract Smart cities aim at improving efficiency while providing safety and security by merging conventional infrastructures with information and communication technology. One strategy for mitigating hazardous situations and improving the overall resilience of the system is to involve citizens. For instance, smart grids involve prosumers—capable of producing and consuming electricity—who can adjust their electricity profile dynamically (i. e., decrease or increase electricity consumption), or use their local production to supply electricity to the grid. This mitigates the impact of peak consumption periods on the grid and makes it easier for operators to control the grid. This involvement of prosumers is accompanied by numerous socio-technical challenges, including motivating citizens to contribute by adjusting their electricity consumption to the requirements of the energy grid. Towards this end, this work investigates motivational strategies and tools, including nudging, persuasive technologies, and incentives, that can be leveraged to increase the motivation of citizens. We discuss long-term and side effects and ethical and privacy considerations, before portraying bug bounty programs, gamification and apps as technologies and strategies to communicate the motivational strategies to citizens.
