The article describes a clinical case of patient P., 43 years old, a political activist who conducted extravagant performances in the image of the Tsar, who called for a return to monarchical rule and, in connection with this, was hospitalized involuntarily in a psychiatric hospital. A comparative analysis with the actions of Pyotr Pavlenky and Pavel Krysevich is carried out, the contribution of the psychopathological to the creative activity of representatives of contemporary art is estimated. The validity of the psychiatric diagnoses exposed to patient P., the recognition of his social danger and the validity of the appointment of compulsory inpatient treatment to him are evaluated. It is concluded that freak behavior, presenting itself through actionism, performances and dissent, needs a serious psychological and psychopathological analysis. Often, such dissent becomes a way of self-realization or provocation (trolling), but psychopathology is also capable of hiding behind it. It is stated that this should in no way diminish the social significance and the creative component of the performances and actions of people considered to be freaks. In addition, it is argued that actionism should not be perceived as a socially dangerous act, and there is no reason to imprison a person or send a patient to a psychiatric hospital for compulsory treatment for performances.

Rock-art researchers have long acknowledged the importance of discerning superimposition sequences as a means for exploring chronology. Despite their potential for reconstructing painting events and thus informing on a site's production sequences, the social significance of superimpositions and their associated meanings have been little explored. In the Kimberley Region of northwestern Australia, interpretations of superimpositions as an analytical lens have often lingered on the ‘negative’ connotations of this practice (e.g. to destroy supernatural power embedded in previous paintings and/or to show cultural dominance). As a result, it has been proposed that the overpainting of previous images was tantamount to defacing, leading to the proposition that new images constituted a form of vandalism of older art. In this paper, a sample of rock-art sites from the northwestern and northeastern Kimberley is analysed with the aim of grounding the study of superimpositions in more nuanced practices, leading researchers to contemplate the role they played among populations within the same area. It is argued here that superimpositions brought together past and present experiences that served to reinforce the links between contemporary art production and the inherited landscape.

Bogdan Suchodolski looked at art from the perspective of culture and general education. Irena Wojnar provided the final shape to the theory of aesthetic education (Theory of aesthetic education, 1976), by distinguishing two aspects within it: education towards art and education through art.

The paper deals with issues connected with the motivation of high school students to participate in activities aimed at professional creative activity and, in this context, issues of environmental influences, especially from school and the family. It is responding to some of the growing efforts of neoliberalism to over individualize creative expression and activities and completely ignore social influences. It also takes into account the cultural legacy of past generations and the sources of creative power that have taken root in society and from which individuals draw and process their inspiration. Presented within are the results of an empirical probe focused on the influence of the social environment on the creative activity of teenagers. The paper follows the relations to the existing body of knowledge on the relationship between social environment and creativity, with an effort to capture the social conditionality of creative performances—to capture their roots. The results of the probe have confirmed the initial hypothesis that the creative efforts of secondary school students taking part in vocational training is based on the social background of the family and school. However, the family influence on the students’ creativity is not as significant as one would expect. It is the indirect effect of the family environment that has a larger influence.
