The article presents the medical, scientific, and pedagogical activities of the Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation Albert Vazgenovich Papayan (19362002), Head of the Department of Faculty Pediatrics (19742002), Dean of Foreign Students (19691985), Vice-Rector for International Relations (19992002) of the Leningrad Pediatric Medical Institute, then the St. Petersburg State Pediatric Medical Academy. Professor A.V. Papayan is an outstanding scientist who formed the largest pediatric nephrology school within the walls of the SPbSMA, as the founder of the study of the hemostasis system in kidney diseases in children, as a teacher who brought up several generations of pediatricians and nephrologists, as a doctor who restored the health of thousands of sick children. Professor A.V. Papayan is the author of over 400 scientific papers, including 14 monographs and chapters in 14 manuals. Under the guidance of Professor A.V. Papayan completed and defended 62 dissertations of the Candidate of Medical Sciences, with scientific advice 1 dissertation of the Doctor of Medical Sciences. Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation Albert Vazgenovich Papayan is the pride of the national pediatric science, education and health care. The editorial presents medical, scientific, pedagogical activity academician of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation.

Vladimir Dmitrievich Fedorov was born on 21 March 1933 in Moscow. After finishing school he entered in the 2nd Moscow medical Institute named after N. And. Pirogov (1950-1956), where he performed the duties of Secretary of the Bureau of the Komsomol of the course and the member of the Komsomol Committee of the Institute; engaged in experimental work on the defibrillation of the heart. Studied in residency (1956-1958), graduate school (1958-1960), worked as a teaching assistant (1960-1966) and then associate Professor (1966-1971) chair of hospital surgery of the 2nd Moscow state medical Institute. In 1963 he defended his Ph. D. in 1971 doctoral dissertation. In 1972, Vladimir Dmitrievich Fedorov was appointed Director of research laboratory surgery clinic of the Ministry of health of the RSFSR. In 1976, on the initiative of V. D. Fedorov was the first in the USSR Department of Coloproctology of the Central doctors improvement Institute, which he headed for 13 years. In 1982 he was elected a corresponding member, and in 1986, academician of the Academy of medical Sciences (AMS) of the USSR. Since 1988, Vladimir Fyodorov, Director of the Institute of surgery named after AV Vishnevsky Academy of medical Sciences of the USSR. In 1990, V. D. Fedorov elected to the chair of surgery, faculty of postgraduate professional education of Moscow medical Academy named after I. M. Sechenov. Since 1974 he worked as a Deputy chief surgeon of the Medical center of President's Affairs Administration of the Russian Federation. D. Fedorov is the author of over 500 scientific works, including 13 copyright certificates and patents, and 20 monographs. Under his leadership, and counseling are protected by 32 doctoral and 47 master's theses. V. D. Fedorov was an honorary member of the Russian Association of endoscopic surgery and the Association hepatobiliary surgery, Moscow surgical society, surgical scientific societies of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and the Saratov region, Chairman of the surgical section and member of the Presidium of scientific medical Council of Ministry of health of the Russian Federation, a member of the Interdepartmental health Council, Deputy chief editor of the journal "Surgery", member of the editorial Board of the journal "Surgical Laparoscopy and Endoscopy" and one of the oldest journals "British Journal of Surgery". For two years he headed the Association of surgeons named after N. And. Pirogov (1992-1994). More than 10 years he was a member of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of medical Sciences and performed the duties of Chairman of the Board of Directors of the institutes of the Russian Academy of medical Sciences. Vladimir Dmitrievich, a foreign member of the Belarusian Academy of medical Sciences (2000) and the Academy of Sciences of Moldova (2003), honorary Professor of the Petrovsky national research center of the Russian Academy of medical Sciences and the Bashkir medical College. Academician V. D. Fedorov is the main national representative in the International society of surgeons (1990) national representative in the International society of University surgeons Coloproctology. Mr Kuznetsov – laureate of the State prize of the USSR (1985) and the RSFSR (1991), RF Government prize (2002), Honored scientist of Russia (1997), awarded the order of red banner of Labor (1976, 1978), Lenin (1983), "For merits before Fatherland" III degree, Friendship of peoples (1993).

70 years old, the famous endocrinologist Viktor Petrovich Fedotov, doctor of medical sciences, professor honored scientist of the Russian Federation, head of the laboratory for biological studies of hormonal compounds of the Endocrinology Research Center of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, editor-in-chief of the journal Problems of Endocrinology, is 70 years old. After graduating from the 2nd Moscow Medical Institute, V.P. Fedotov entered graduate school at the Institute of Biophysics of the USSR Ministry of Health, which he successfully completed by completing his dissertation on the effect of polonium on the carbohydrate function of the liver. Later, the scientific interests of V.P. Fedotov were concentrated in the field of experimental endocrinology; his doctoral dissertation (1972) was devoted to the reaction of the endocrine system to radiation exposure and demonstrated the importance of the pituitary and adrenal cortex in the formation of symptoms of radiation sickness. In 1982, V.P. Fedotov was awarded the title of professor, in 1994 - the title of Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation. Since 1966 V.P. Fedotov heads the laboratory he created. The main focus of her work was the study of the complex of biological properties of hormones and their analogues, as well as the correlation between their structure and functions. For the first time in the country, the laboratory developed methods for radioimmunoassay of peptide hormones in humans and rats. V.P. Fedotov and his collaborators obtained important results regarding the regulation of proliferative and secretory processes in the pituitary and pancreas, and their changes in ontogenesis. The laboratory developed and put into practice an original method for determining autoantibodies to surface antigens of islet cells of the pancreas.

Yuri F. Isakov was born in 1923 in the city of Kovrov of the Vladimir region. Participated in the great Patriotic war. In 1951 he graduated from the medical faculty, 1951-1953. – Intern, post – graduate student of Department of pediatric surgery of the 2nd Moscow medical Institute. In 1955 he defended his candidate thesis on "Intravenous and intraosseous anesthesia in operations on the extremities in children", in 1963 – his doctoral thesis on the topic: "Hirschsprung's Disease in children (pathogenesis, clinic, treatment)". In 1964 he became Professor, and in 1966 head of the Department of surgical diseases of childhood of the 2nd Moscow medical Institute and was appointed chief pediatric surgeon, head of the Main Department of educational institutions of the Ministry of health of the USSR. Under his leadership, held a number of progressive reforms, including was introduced biennial specialisation, adapted to the tasks of practical health care curricula, the initiative was created by the initiative of the all-Union children's surgical centre. Since 1981, Yuri F. Isakov, Deputy Minister of health of the USSR, 1989 – Vice-President, Academy of medical Sciences of the USSR (later the Russian Academy of medical Sciences), 1993-2005 was chief pediatric surgeon of the Ministry of health of Russia. He was Chairman of the Presidium of the Russian Association of pediatric surgeons, the Bureau of the scientific Council on pediatric surgery of the Ministry of health of the Russian Federation and the Russian Academy of medical Sciences, editor-in-chief of the journal "Pediatric surgery", Advisor of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of medical Sciences. Yuri Isakov is the author of over 400 scientific works, including 23 monographs, 8 textbooks and manuals, 12 inventions. Yuri F. Isakov died on August 4, 2016 in Moscow, Troekurov buried at a cemetery.

The authors of this article aimed at reconstructing the biography of B. I. Fuks in the context of the history of the Soviet era and its most important events. Boris Ilyich (Ber Eljich) Fuks (1897–1973) was a Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, a surgeon, the founder of Novokuznetsk Surgical School. His scientific and pedagogical activity was primarily connected with the Tomsk State University and the State Institute for Advanced Training of Doctors, consistently located in Tomsk, Novosibirsk, Stalinsk (Novokuznetsk). The research is based on the documents found in the State Archives of the Russian Federation, the State Archives of Tomsk Region, the State Archives of Kemerovo Region, the State Archives of Kemerovo Region in Novokuznetsk, and the Archives of Novokuznetsk State Institute for Advanced Training of Doctors, and some publications in the central and local periodicals. The documents from the personal archive and memoirs of B. B. Fuks, the son of B. I. Fuks (Boston, USA), made up a separate important set of sources.

The article is dedicated to the 85th birthday of the famous scientist, honored worker of science of the Russian Federation, honored worker of science of the Republic of Mordovia, honored doctor of the Republic of Mordovia, laureate of State prize, head of the scientific-pedagogical surgical school, doctor of medical Sciences professor Piksin Ivan Nikiforovich. I. N. Piksin is the author of fundamental studies of the biomedical effects of quantum radiation at the molecular, cellular and organismal levels in patients with acute destructive diseases of the lungs, purulent-septic diseases, lactational mastitis and other pathologies. The team of the scientific-pedagogical school led by I. N. Piksin explores the problems of diagnosis and treatment of gastroduodenal bleeding, mechanical jaundice, pancreatitis, suppurative diseases of the lung and pleura, surgical diseases of the heart, blood vessels, prevention of complications of limb injuries, diabetes and diabetic foot care, pediatric orthopedics. Under the leadership of I. N. Piksin, new minimally invasive technologies have introduced: transthoracic drainage and rehabilitation therapy of purulent cavities of the lung and pleura, percutaneous and transhepatic cholecystocholangiography, diagnostic and treatment interventions in space-occupying lesions of the abdomen and thyroid gland, ultrasound techniques of diabetes in acute destructive pancreatitis and others. He is considered as one of organizers of higher medical education system in the region. The professor is actively working on improvement in training of medical and scientific personnel for various regions of the Russian Federation.

31 марта 2021 г. в ИЭА РАН прошла Межрегиональная научная конференция «Русская православная традиция как сфера научного исследования», посвященная памяти доктора исторических наук, профессора, лауреата Государственной премии РФ в области науки и техники, лауреата российской академической премии имени митрополита Московского и Коломенского Макария (Булгакова), кавалера ордена святой равноапостольной княгини Ольги Марины Михайловны Громыко (1927–2020). В ходе конференции выступили двадцать два участника из разных регионов РФ: Москвы, Санкт-Петербурга, Новосибирска, Краснодара, Вологодской обл. Задачей научного форума было почтить память недавно почившего выдающегося ученого, организатора науки, создателя нового направления в русской этнографии. Также важным для участников конференции было отметить вклад Марины Михайловны в создание научной школы православных этнографов, повлиявшей на возникновение подобных школ в других регионах РФ. В целом обозначились некие предварительные итоги изучения Русского Православия как цивилизационного феномена и вклад в этот процесс М. М. Громыко On March 31, 2021, the IEA RAS hosted the Interregional Scientific Conference "Russian Orthodox Tradition as a Field of Scientific Research" dedicated to the memory of Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation in Science and Technology, Laureate of the Russian Academic Prize named after Metropolitan of Moscow and Kolomna Macarius (Bulgakov), Dame of the Order of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Princess Olga Marina Mikhailovna Gromyko (1927–2020). Twenty-two participants from different regions of the Russian Federation took part in the conference: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Krasnodar, Vologda region. The task of the scientific forum was to honor the memory of the recently deceased outstanding scientist, organizer of science, the creator of a new direction in Russian ethnography. It was also important for the conference participants to note the contribution of Marina Mikhailovna to the creation of a scientific school of Orthodox ethnographers, which influenced the emergence of similar schools in other regions of the Russian Federation. In general, some preliminary results of the study of Russian Orthodoxy as a civilizational phenomenon and the contribution to this process of M.M. Gromyko have been outlined.

Mayat Valentin Sergeevich - surgeon, doctor of medical sciences (1946), professor (1950), Honored Worker of Science of the Russian Federation, Hero of Socialist Labor (1969), laureate of the USSR State Prize (1976, 1987).Mayat Valentin Sergeevich was born in 1903. After the termination of the 2nd Moscow University he worked in a hospital surgical clinic (since 1925), served in the Red Army (since 1939). During the Great Patriotic War - the leading surgeon of the Penza evacuation hospital No. 1649 (since October 1941), the chief surgeon of the evacuation hospitals in the Penza region (from August 1942 to August 1945). In 1949, V.S. Majat worked in the People's Republic of China (PRC) in the surgical department of the government hospital, while lecturing at Peking University. After returning from the PRC, he was elected the head of the Department of Hospital Surgery of the 2nd Moscow Medical Institute (1953), simultaneously (1952-1964) was deputy chief surgeon and then chief surgeon of the 4th Main Directorate of the Ministry of Health of the USSR (until 1974). He developed a new method of phalloplasty, the classification of gunshot joint injuries. He prepared 14 doctors and 47 candidates of medical sciences, published over 250 scientific papers, author of 3 monographs, including on the topic: "Carotid artery surgery" (1966), which was awarded the NN Prize. Burdenko. Honorary member of the Moscow (1973), Georgian (1976), All-Union (1978) scientific surgical societies, a member of the International Society of Surgeons. He was awarded the Order of Lenin, the Red Banner of Labor, the Second World War, several foreign orders and medals.
