<p>As company tours have become more popular and received much attention in Vietnam, it is a favorable chance for travel companies and agencies to gain more customers and profits. This study was carried out to investigate the effects of travel service quality, using SERVPERF assessment procedure, on word-of-mouth (WOM) behaviors of the whole organization through the mediation of perceived value and satisfaction, so that further recommendations would be suggested for tourism companies to improve their services. Quantitative approach was applied with questionnaire directly delivered to 300 small to medium-sized companies in Ho Chi Minh City which annually book tours for their staff. Although all variables were positively correlated, only four quality aspects (Empathy, Responsiveness, Tangibles, Assurance) had significant effects on other dependent variables; in particular, empathy was proven to have the most powerful impact on WOM with both direct and indirect effects. Guidelines for travel agencies were recommended; especially, activities which prioritized customers’ needs and fulfilled their requests were most emphasized.</p>

This research provided the new results on the determinants of tourist satisfaction. The data were obtained using questionnaire as the instrument. The variables used were destination and hotel service quality, destination and hotel image, tourist perceived value, tourist satisfaction, revisit intention, and word of mouth. Sampling technique was convenience sampling. The respondents were foreign and domestic tourists who traveled to Bali and stayed at three and four-star hotels. The sample size was 265. Then, the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was utilized in explaining the relationship between latent variables and hypotheses. The result shows that from eleven hypotheses, there are two rejected hypotheses regarding the influence of destination service quality and hotel service quality on the image. Destination and hotel image has a significant effect on revisit intention and word of mouth through tourist perceived value and satisfaction. Theoretically, tourist satisfaction determines the factors that affect it directly and indirectly. Practically, tourism business should manage the destination and hotel service quality because it increases the tourist perceived value.

At present, tourism is a key component of the modern Vietnamese economy. However, it is increasing the country’s pitifully low return visitor rate. The aim of this study was to explore the structural relationships among destination attributes, perceived service quality, perceived value, and loyalty of international tourists in Ho Chi Minh City. The destination attributes were investigated in terms of cultural and historical attractions, local cuisine, perceived price, safety and security, service facilities, natural environment, entertainment and recreation activities, negative attributes, and destination image. Data were collected through a self-administered questionnaire survey of 2073 respondents employed using SmartPLS analysis. The results indicate that destination attributes, perceived service quality, and perceived value have positive and direct influences on tourist loyalty. In addition, the findings also confirmed that these destination attributes indirectly affected tourist loyalty through their perceived value and perceived service quality. Based on the findings, some recommendations and implications are suggested to enhance traveler intention to re-visit and increase awareness of the necessity for sustainable development tourism in Ho Chi Minh City, with their willingness to recommend this place to others.

There is a lack of empirical research on tourists' participation behavior in island tourism. Therefore, we developed a behavioral model of this type of participation, including the variables of travel information sources, destination image, service quality, satisfaction, and perceived value. We adopted convenience sampling to survey 430 tourists who had participated in marine recreational activities while visiting Jibei Island in Penghu, Taiwan. The results of partial least squares analysis show that travel information sources affected the island's image and the service quality perceptions of tourists; and the island's image, service quality, satisfaction, and perceived value had a positive influence on tourists' behavioral intention to revisit the island and recommend it as a travel destination to family and friends. Our findings provide a reference for island tourism operators to formulate marketing strategies.

In this research article, we aim to study the proposed role of human–machine interactive (HMI) technologies, including both artificial intelligence (AI) and virtual reality (VR)-enabled applications, for the post-COVID-19 revival of the already depleted tourism industry in Vietnam’s major tourist destination and business hub of Ho Chi Minh City. The researchers aim to gather practical knowledge regarding tourists’ intentions for such service enhancements, which may drive the sector to adopt a better conclusive growth pattern in post-COVID-19 times. In this study, we attempt to focus on travelers who look for paramount safety with the assurance of empathetic, personalized care in post-COVID-19 times. In the current study, the authors employ structural equation modeling to evaluate the intentions of tourists both structurally and empirically for destination tourism with data collected from tourists with previous exposure to various kinds of these devices. The study shows that human–machine interactive devices are integrating AI and VR and have a significant effect on overall service quality, leading to tourist satisfaction and loyalty. The use of such social interactive gadgets within tourism and mostly in hospitality services requires an organization to make a commitment to futuristic technologies, along with building value by enriching service quality expectations among fearful tourists. This research shows that tourists mainly focus on the use of such HMI devices from the perspective of technology acceptance factors, qualitative value-enhancing service and trustworthy information-sharing mechanisms. The concept of the tour bubble framework is also discussed in detail. The analysis of this discussion gives us a more profound understanding of the novel opportunities which various administrative agencies may benefit from to position these devices better in smart, sustainable destination tourism strategies for the future so that, collectively, service 5.0 with HMI devices can possibly bring back tourism from being disintegrated. Such service applications are the new social innovations leading to sustainable service and a sophisticated experience for all tourists.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine the factors of environmental attitude, motivation, destination image, word-of-mouth, and perceived service quality to predict the tourists’ intention to select sustainable tourist destination. It also aims to investigate the moderating effect of knowledge on the relationship between environmental attitude and the tourists’ intention to select sustainable tourist destination. Design/methodology/approach Using survey design, 300 self-administrated questionnaires (both online/hard copy) were distributed to both local and international tourists at different tourism locations in Penang state in Malaysia. A total of 161 questionnaires were returned and analysed by using SPSS and smart PLS software. Findings The findings found that environmental attitude, motivation, and word-of-mouth significantly influenced the tourists’ intention to select sustainable tourism destination, while destination image and perceived service quality have not a significant influence in this study. Furthermore, this study proved that knowledge negatively moderates the positive effect of the environmental attitude on tourists’ intention to select sustainable tourism destination. Research limitations/implications The findings offer important managerial implications for managers of tourism destinations and decision makers in understanding what motivates influence tourists’ intention in selecting sustainable tourism destination. The research scope was limited to convenient sampling and one city (Penang). Thus, the results could not be generalised to all Malaysia or other countries. Originality/value This research contributes to extending knowledge in sustainable tourism destination in the context of emerging markets, especially Malaysia. Moreover, this study found a way to examine the relationship between the environmental attitude and tourists’ intention to select sustainable tourism destination.
