Abstract: The studies on artificial dyes and their harmful effects on health are still being produced in small quantities, and this lack of theoretical background can cause the contradiction existent among them. The goal of this work was to characterize the scientific production about genetic damages associated with the use of food colorings. In this study a survey was carried out in the Scopus database with the following keywords: food dyes, mutatios and câncer, in the title, summary or keywords of the article, from the period of 2006 to 2015, in the areas of Health and life sciences. After data collection and tabulation, a descriptive statistics analysis was performed. The year with the greatest number of publications was 2013, but the number of articles have not increased over the years (p = 0.0632). Only one author stood out, Shibutani, M. with 5 publications and medicine was the area of knowledge that most published about the subject, with 30.63%. A greater number of original articles were observed (72%) and the journal Food and Chemical Toxicology published more articles in the period studied. Only eleven institutions published three or more articles and the United States was the country with the largest number of publications (62), and the most used language in the studies was English (93%), the indocyanine green dye appeared in a greater number in the studies (20%), followed by curcuminoids (17%). The low number of publications on food colorings associated with cancer demonstrates that more studies should be developed in the area, given the importance to human health, since there is an overuse of these additives in food in general. Apenas um autor se destacou, Shibutani, M. com 5 publicações e medicina foi a área do conhecimento que mais publicou sobre o assunto, com 30,63%. Observou-se um maior número de artigos originais (72%) e o periódico Food and Chemical Toxicology publicou mais artigos no período estudado. Apenas onze instituições publicaram três ou mais artigos e os Estados Unidos foi o país com o maior número de publicações (62), sendo que o idioma mais utilizado nos estudos foi o inglês (93%), o corante verde de indocyanina apareceu em maior número nos estudos (20%), seguido pelos curcuminóides (17%). O baixo número de publicações sobre corantes alimentares associados a câncer demonstra que mais estudos deveriam ser desenvolvidos na área, dada a importância para a saúde humana, uma vez que há um uso excessivo desses aditivos nos alimentos em geral. The objective of the study is to characterize the world scientific production on academic writing between the years 2011 to July 2021. A bibliometric study was carried out in five databases (Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar, Microsoft Academic and Crossref). Bibliometric indicators were analyzed in 4117 articles through Publish or Perish v. 7.19 and the same analytical software of the chosen databases. The results indicate that the article entitled “Codemeshing in academic writing: Identifying teachable strategies of translanguaging” is the document with the highest number of citations; Montserrat Castelló Badía, the most cited author; Journal Of English For Academic Purposes stands out as the medium with the largest number of publications on the subject; and among the countries that concentrate the largest production on creative writing, the United States, the United Kingdom, China, Australia and Spain stand out. It is concluded that the rate of publications will increase in the following months, which means continuing to periodically carry out measurements on scientific production to determine the evolution and contributions of the scientific material produced.

AbstractThis review reports the Brazilian history in astrobiology, as well as the first delineation of a vision of the future development of the field in the country, exploring its abundant biodiversity, highly capable human resources and state-of-the-art facilities, reflecting the last few years of stable governmental investments in science, technology and education, all conditions providing good perspectives on continued and steadily growing funding for astrobiology-related research. Brazil is growing steadily and fast in terms of its worldwide economic power, an effect being reflected in different areas of the Brazilian society, including industry, technology, education, social care and scientific production. In the field of astrobiology, the country has had some important landmarks, more intensely after the First Brazilian Workshop on Astrobiology in 2006. The history of astrobiology in Brazil, however, is not so recent and had its first occurrence in 1958. Since then, researchers carried out many individual initiatives across the country in astrobiology-related fields, resulting in an ever growing and expressive scientific production. The number of publications, including articles and theses, has particularly increased in the last decade, but still counting with the effort of researchers working individually. That scenario started to change in 2009, when a formal group of Brazilian researchers working with astrobiology was organized, aiming at congregating the scientific community interested in the subject and to promote the necessary interactions to achieve a multidisciplinary work, receiving facilities and funding from the University de Sao Paulo and other funding agencies.

Introduction: Hallux valgus (HV) is a very common deformity among affections of the foot, and interest in the subject is persistent in the daily routine of orthopedic surgeons. We investigated the trend in HV publications in the literature. Methods: The research was carried out by searching the Web of Science database between 1998 - 2018, analyzed using a bibliometric methodology. We used the "Bibliometrix" package for R software for the data compilation and VOSviewer for graphic creation. Results: A total of 703 articles were found from the electronic search until December 21, 2018, with 6266 citations. The major scholar in this field was Coughlin M.J., with the largest number of publications (17). The United States led in number of articles published with 26.74%, with Brazil ranked in 26 place. There was an increase in the number of publications, with the highest number of articles published in 2016 (78). Conclusion: The amount of published work on HV has grown rapidly since 2011. The United States has the leading position in global research. The journal with more articles was Foot and Ankle International.

This study aimed to analyze the characteristics of publications dealing with the Eco-innovation and Strategy issues in the databases Web of Science and Scopus in the period 2001-2015, and identify what topics are being studied along this theme and which are the most relevant, conducting a comparison of results found in the two databases (Web of Science and Scopus). The study has a quantitative approach in order that sought to evaluate some variables related to scientific production on the subject researched. The analysis found 96 publications in the Web of Science and 109 in Scopus. Comparing both surveyed bases it is found that the number of publications increased dramatically in the last decade and that European countries lead the ranking as the number of publications. It is noticed that in both databases, the authors of the most cited publications are not among the authors who have published over in the period. The most cited articles in both surveyed bases belong to the journals: Journal of Cleaner Production and Technovation.

Abstract Background: Antimicrobial resistance is a serious public health problem that has become a global threat. Special attention should be given to polymyxins (polymyxin B and colistin) which, since their reintroduction into clinical practice, are considered "last resort" drugs. The objective of this study is to perform a bibliometric analysis of scientific research on polymyxin resistance.Methods: Scopus database was used to retrieve documents relevant to polymyxin resistance. At the beginning, all kinds of documents without year restrictions were included. Subsequently, the study period (2009-2018) was limited and analyzed using SciVal. Specifically, the 10 institutions and countries with the highest production, authors, journals, and most cited articles were analyzed. The growth of publications and citations was graphed, in addition to an analysis of the keywords using VOSviewer.Results: A total of 1,306 documents were retrieved (1947-2019). Original articles (76.95%) and letters to the editor (15.47%) were the most frequent types of documents. English was the predominant language with 1,270 documents (97.2%). In the period 2009-2018, there was a significant growth in publications (p-value < 0.001) retrieving 833 (64%) documents. The received citations were 23,974, with a peak in 2016 (8,033 citations). The United States and China lead the scientific production with 146 (17.5%) and 137 (16.4%) publications, respectively. University of Fribourg (Switzerland) was the most productive institution on the subject (44 documents), although University of Zhejiang (China) has caused the greatest impact (73.5 citations/article). Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy ranked first with 140 documents. Most of the documents were published in quartile 1 journals (82.7% and 69.1%, according to Scimago Journal & Country Rank and CiteScore, respectively).Conclusions: The number of documents on polymyxin resistance has increased significantly in the recent years. In the last few years alone, 64% of all documents have been published. The United States and China lead the scientific production. Greater efforts are still needed to tackle this global problem.

The aim of this study is to explore the relevance of scientific production on venture capital using bibliometric and mapping tools.We performed a search in Scopus, involving any document published between 1978 and 2020. We used bibliometric indicators to explore documents production, dispersion, distribution, time of duplication, and annual growth, as Price’s law of scientific literature growth, Lotka’s law, the transient index, and the Bradford model. We also calculated the participation index of the different countries and institutions. Finally, we explored the co-occurrence and thematic networks for the most frequently used terms in venture capital research through bibliometric mapping.A total of 1,230 original articles were collected from the timeframe 1978–2020. The model confirms that Price’s law is not fulfilled. Scientific production was better adjusted to linear growth (r = 0.9290) than exponential (r = 0.9161). Literature on venture capital research has increased its growth in the last 43 years at a rate of 7.9% per year, with a production that doubles its size every 9.1 years. The transience index was 79.91%, which indicates that most of the scientific production is due to a lot of authors with a small number of publications on the research topic. Bradford´s law shows that the scientific production in this area is widely distributed in multiple journals, and Lotka’s law indicates that the author’s distribution is heavily concentrated on small producers. The United States of America (USA) and the University of Pennsylvania present the highest production, contributing 31.22% and 1.63% of the total production of research on venture capital.The venture capital task has undergone a linear growth, with a very high rate of transience, which indicates the presence of numerous authors who sporadically publish on this topic. No evidence of a saturation point was observed in the scientific production analyzed, which makes it possible to conclude that the research in venture capital will continue to be in demand by the scientific community.

Scientific production in the last decades has evidenced an increase in burnout syndrome in healthcare professionals. The objective of this bibliometric study was to analyze scientific productions on burnout in nurses in 2009–2019. A search was made on the Web of Science database on burnout in nursing. The variables evaluated were number of publications per year, productivity based on the journal and relationships between authors. Data were analyzed using Bibexcel software, and Pajek was used to visualize the co-authorship network map. A total of 1528 publications related to burnout in nurses were identified. The years with the most productivity were 2016 to 2017, when the publication rate increased noticeably over previous years. The Spanish journal with the most production on the subject was Atención Primaria. The co-authorship network analyzed illustrated collaboration patterns among the researchers. Scientific publications on the subject have increased in recent years due to problems in the healthcare system, which is in need of prevention and intervention programs for healthcare professionals.

Abstract Background and Aims Patients with end stage renal disease (ESRD) exposed to renal replacement therapy (RRT) have many consequences, both physical and psychological. Dialysis patient rehabilitation is a way to improve the well-being and quality of life of users, but it is an area that has not been commonly explored and where there is much to know. The participation of the Physiotherapist in the rehabilitation of these patients has increased mainly in the last period. The present study aims to carry out an analysis of how the scientific field has behaved in relation to rehabilitation in patients undergoing dialysis, exploring the existing bases for new studies and knowing how it has varied between the years 1996 to 2020. Method The present study is a bibliometric analysis. Through this type of study, it is possible to analyze the scientific production and how is the activity on some subject. It allows, among others, the development of research topics that are little studied, in addition to evaluating the countries, institutions and authors in a certain period. A search for scientific articles was carried out using the web of science (WOS) page, obtaining 236 articles. The search key was TS = (“rehabilitation”) AND TS = (physical exercise or haemodialysis or renal dialysis or peritoneal dialysis) AND TS = (hemodialysis) NOT TS = (fistula). In the same WOS platform, a filter was carried out where only articles, reviews and conference articles were included, excluding editorial material, book chapters and early accesses, articles that are in the range of years between 1990 and 1995 were also excluded. These years were chosen because it was observed that from 1996 an increase in the trend on the subject under study can be observed. With this filtration the articles decrease to 191 results. The Scimat and Bibliometrix biblioshiny softwares were used for their analysis. Results A total of 191 records were compiled among which we have been able to identify different bibliometric indicators that allow us to know the scientific performance and how it has behaved over the years. Figure 1 shows a descriptive graph obtained from biblioshiny bibliometrix where it was shown the annual scientific production of the documents, with dates that fluctuate between 1996 and 2020. It is observed that the scientific production on this issue of rehabilitation in dialysis patients through the years has been developing exponentially since 1996. However, there are years in which production decreased significantly. It was also found the authors who have published the most, the journals and their categorizations, and the network of collaborations that exist between authors from different countries, being the United States the pioneer country in scientific production. Finally, emerging studies on the subject were found. Conclusion In this study we have addressed different points to show and publicize the issue of rehabilitation in dialysis patients, with its greatest contributors in recent years. We can say that many studies are still missing to be able to have a solid base in the rehabilitation of these patients, who are increasing more every day in the world population. Although, we have compiled a significant number of studies, it is probably not all of them, studies that complement the information are needed with other search engines. This study can serve as a starting point for future research, which is necessary in the field of dialysis, although the production rate has increased over the years it is still quite low, it is important that new authors appear who can work among them to advance and thus obtain knowledge that allows us to help and benefit patients around the world. In addition, we have considered it very important to mention and suggest so that Latin American countries can become more interested in this topic, since they are part of the countries that produce the least, however, their population on dialysis increases progressively over the years.


Clinical pharmacy is one of the areas in which pharmacists work that appeared decades ago; however, it is necessary to know the Brazilian reality of scientific production about it. In this context, the objective of this study was to characterize the development of scientific knowledge of clinical pharmacy in Brazil. To answer the general objective of this study, the following questions were used: (I) Which are the main authors who published in the period? (II) What are the temporal trends of the publications? (III) Which were the main journals that published?; (IV) What was the language of the articles?; (V) Which were the main thematic areas found in the publications? The methodology used was a scientometric analysis in two databases. The data obtained were tabulated and transformed into graphs and tables using the Microsoft Excel 2019 program. The results showed that the authors who published the most are linked to the incentive programs of Capes, as well as, the tendency of increase of publications is from 2013 with the approval of the RDC's 585 and 586 of CFF and the law 13021/2014. The journal Einstein São Paulo obtained the highest number of publications, while English was the language of prevalence in the articles, finally, the thematic area of pharmacology and pharmacotherapy was the most studied by them. It is concluded that clinical pharmacy has been growing over the years in Brazil, and this study can support actions that encourage the advancement of studies on the subject in question in the country.

This work analyzes the visibility and scientific impact of publications related to agricultural value chains. The incidence of bibliometric indicators allows for the interpretation of bibliographic information generated worldwide. Objective: The objective of this research is to analyze the published literature and bibliometric indicators on agricultural value chains. The Web of Science database was used to extract value chains data. The study analyzed articles published between 2010 and 2020. The keywords used are "agricultural value chains'' and articles from journals or studies related to the subject were selected for bibliometric analysis and methodological review. In the search for the keyword, a total of 4208 results were extracted, of which 1,669 records were considered for analysis. The bibliometric analysis of the data reveals that Wageningen University (55) has the highest number of publications, followed by Chinese Acad Sci (26). The author Klerkx L (9) has the highest number of records, followed by Hellin J (7). With respect to the countries with the greatest contributions on the subject are: the People's Republic of China, Germany, Italy, France and the United States. The study contributes to the analysis of bibliometrics and provides a methodological review of published journal articles on agricultural value chains. This bibliographic study presents the history of research development in agricultural value chains.
