scholarly journals Clinical pharmacy in Brazil: A bibliometric analysis

Clinical pharmacy is one of the areas in which pharmacists work that appeared decades ago; however, it is necessary to know the Brazilian reality of scientific production about it. In this context, the objective of this study was to characterize the development of scientific knowledge of clinical pharmacy in Brazil. To answer the general objective of this study, the following questions were used: (I) Which are the main authors who published in the period? (II) What are the temporal trends of the publications? (III) Which were the main journals that published?; (IV) What was the language of the articles?; (V) Which were the main thematic areas found in the publications? The methodology used was a scientometric analysis in two databases. The data obtained were tabulated and transformed into graphs and tables using the Microsoft Excel 2019 program. The results showed that the authors who published the most are linked to the incentive programs of Capes, as well as, the tendency of increase of publications is from 2013 with the approval of the RDC's 585 and 586 of CFF and the law 13021/2014. The journal Einstein São Paulo obtained the highest number of publications, while English was the language of prevalence in the articles, finally, the thematic area of pharmacology and pharmacotherapy was the most studied by them. It is concluded that clinical pharmacy has been growing over the years in Brazil, and this study can support actions that encourage the advancement of studies on the subject in question in the country.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the scope related to the subject of problem-solving skills based on multiple representation in 2016 – 2020 with 20 documents through bibliometric analysis. The research method used was a literature study through all the articles analyzed in this study. The articles were taken from the Scopus database with sampling in 2003 – 2020, resulting in 29 scientific work data exported in *.ris (RIS) and *CVS formats. Then, those data were processed using VOSviewer and Microsoft Excel. The results of publications in the last five years have increased. Indonesia is the dominant country in publicizing papers about this topic. Institutions from Germany managed to publish most of the documents about multi representation. Meanwhile, Poland is the origin country of the authors with most publications. The visualization of research trends on multi representation resulted in four main clusters: (1) multi representation related to students, representation, and learning processes (2) multi representation as a class (3) multi representation related to the problem (4) multi representation as a model and process. Meanwhile, Indonesian researchers are very active in contributing to this topic, in line with the number of publications by country, namely Indonesia.

AbstractThis review reports the Brazilian history in astrobiology, as well as the first delineation of a vision of the future development of the field in the country, exploring its abundant biodiversity, highly capable human resources and state-of-the-art facilities, reflecting the last few years of stable governmental investments in science, technology and education, all conditions providing good perspectives on continued and steadily growing funding for astrobiology-related research. Brazil is growing steadily and fast in terms of its worldwide economic power, an effect being reflected in different areas of the Brazilian society, including industry, technology, education, social care and scientific production. In the field of astrobiology, the country has had some important landmarks, more intensely after the First Brazilian Workshop on Astrobiology in 2006. The history of astrobiology in Brazil, however, is not so recent and had its first occurrence in 1958. Since then, researchers carried out many individual initiatives across the country in astrobiology-related fields, resulting in an ever growing and expressive scientific production. The number of publications, including articles and theses, has particularly increased in the last decade, but still counting with the effort of researchers working individually. That scenario started to change in 2009, when a formal group of Brazilian researchers working with astrobiology was organized, aiming at congregating the scientific community interested in the subject and to promote the necessary interactions to achieve a multidisciplinary work, receiving facilities and funding from the University de Sao Paulo and other funding agencies.

Abstract: The studies on artificial dyes and their harmful effects on health are still being produced in small quantities, and this lack of theoretical background can cause the contradiction existent among them. The goal of this work was to characterize the scientific production about genetic damages associated with the use of food colorings. In this study a survey was carried out in the Scopus database with the following keywords: food dyes, mutatios and câncer, in the title, summary or keywords of the article, from the period of 2006 to 2015, in the areas of Health and life sciences. After data collection and tabulation, a descriptive statistics analysis was performed. The year with the greatest number of publications was 2013, but the number of articles have not increased over the years (p = 0.0632). Only one author stood out, Shibutani, M. with 5 publications and medicine was the area of knowledge that most published about the subject, with 30.63%. A greater number of original articles were observed (72%) and the journal Food and Chemical Toxicology published more articles in the period studied. Only eleven institutions published three or more articles and the United States was the country with the largest number of publications (62), and the most used language in the studies was English (93%), the indocyanine green dye appeared in a greater number in the studies (20%), followed by curcuminoids (17%). The low number of publications on food colorings associated with cancer demonstrates that more studies should be developed in the area, given the importance to human health, since there is an overuse of these additives in food in general. O objetivo deste trabalho foi caracterizar a produção científica sobre danos genéticos associados ao uso de corantes alimentares. Neste estudo foi feito um levantamento na base de dados Scopus com as seguintes palavras-chave: food dyes, mutations and câncer, no título, resumo ou palavras-chave do artigo, no período de 2006 a 2015, nas áreas de ciências da saúde e ciências da vida. Após o levantamento e tabulação dos dados foi realizada uma análise de estatística descritiva e análise de correlação de Spearman. O ano com maior número de publicações foi 2013, mas o número de artigos não aumentou ao longo dos anos (p= 0,0632). Apenas um autor se destacou, Shibutani, M. com 5 publicações e medicina foi a área do conhecimento que mais publicou sobre o assunto, com 30,63%. Observou-se um maior número de artigos originais (72%) e o periódico Food and Chemical Toxicology publicou mais artigos no período estudado. Apenas onze instituições publicaram três ou mais artigos e os Estados Unidos foi o país com o maior número de publicações (62), sendo que o idioma mais utilizado nos estudos foi o inglês (93%), o corante verde de indocyanina apareceu em maior número nos estudos (20%), seguido pelos curcuminóides (17%). O baixo número de publicações sobre corantes alimentares associados a câncer demonstra que mais estudos deveriam ser desenvolvidos na área, dada a importância para a saúde humana, uma vez que há um uso excessivo desses aditivos nos alimentos em geral. USA had 249 articles, followed by South Korea (186) and Saudi Arabia (111). The total number of citations achieved was 39,094 with Journal of Virology (133) had the highest number of published articles, followed by Emerging Infectious Disease (85) and PLOS One (60).Conclusion: This research showed the international diversity of MERS-CoV and SARS-CoV research with 106 countries. It is also not surprising that United States leads in the number of publications, authors and citations because of its global power and economic strength; this can also be said with the other top countries. Saudi Arabia was among the top rank because of the origination of the MERS-CoV in the middle east.

This study aimed to analyze the characteristics of publications dealing with the Eco-innovation and Strategy issues in the databases Web of Science and Scopus in the period 2001-2015, and identify what topics are being studied along this theme and which are the most relevant, conducting a comparison of results found in the two databases (Web of Science and Scopus). The study has a quantitative approach in order that sought to evaluate some variables related to scientific production on the subject researched. The analysis found 96 publications in the Web of Science and 109 in Scopus. Comparing both surveyed bases it is found that the number of publications increased dramatically in the last decade and that European countries lead the ranking as the number of publications. It is noticed that in both databases, the authors of the most cited publications are not among the authors who have published over in the period. The most cited articles in both surveyed bases belong to the journals: Journal of Cleaner Production and Technovation.

The objective of the study was to carry out, with the aid of Scopus®️, a scientometric analysis of Loop Mediated Isothermal Amplification Assay (LAMP) applied to farm animals. The research has considered articles from January 2000 to December 2019 and only open or closed access articles published in English. The bibliometric matrices were run through RStudio, applying Biblioshiny as a web interface to Bibliometrix resources for R environment. Later, several bibliometric data were collected with the aid of Bibliometrix, most of which were converted into graphs using Microsoft Excel®️. The scientometric analysis base of the current study was composed by 438 articles from 504 researched in the Scopus®️. Of the 438 articles analyzed, it stands out as results: 1) the years of 2015 (11,4%) and 2019 (11,4%) had equally the highest number of publications in the area; 2) Journal of Virological Methods (12,5%) ranked first in the ranking of journals according to total articles published; 3) China (49,8%), Japan (12,7%) and India (7,1%) have been countries of more published articles; 4) most articles applied the assay to detect microorganisms affecting the farm animals; and, 5) together, the animal groups fish, bovine, poultry, and swine corresponded to 2/3 (71,1%) of the animals used in scientific research using the LAMP method. With all these results, it is concluded that the scientometric analysis showed an overview of the information in the articles about LAMP applied to farm animals.

Abstract Background: Antimicrobial resistance is a serious public health problem that has become a global threat. Special attention should be given to polymyxins (polymyxin B and colistin) which, since their reintroduction into clinical practice, are considered "last resort" drugs. The objective of this study is to perform a bibliometric analysis of scientific research on polymyxin resistance.Methods: Scopus database was used to retrieve documents relevant to polymyxin resistance. At the beginning, all kinds of documents without year restrictions were included. Subsequently, the study period (2009-2018) was limited and analyzed using SciVal. Specifically, the 10 institutions and countries with the highest production, authors, journals, and most cited articles were analyzed. The growth of publications and citations was graphed, in addition to an analysis of the keywords using VOSviewer.Results: A total of 1,306 documents were retrieved (1947-2019). Original articles (76.95%) and letters to the editor (15.47%) were the most frequent types of documents. English was the predominant language with 1,270 documents (97.2%). In the period 2009-2018, there was a significant growth in publications (p-value < 0.001) retrieving 833 (64%) documents. The received citations were 23,974, with a peak in 2016 (8,033 citations). The United States and China lead the scientific production with 146 (17.5%) and 137 (16.4%) publications, respectively. University of Fribourg (Switzerland) was the most productive institution on the subject (44 documents), although University of Zhejiang (China) has caused the greatest impact (73.5 citations/article). Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy ranked first with 140 documents. Most of the documents were published in quartile 1 journals (82.7% and 69.1%, according to Scimago Journal & Country Rank and CiteScore, respectively).Conclusions: The number of documents on polymyxin resistance has increased significantly in the recent years. In the last few years alone, 64% of all documents have been published. The United States and China lead the scientific production. Greater efforts are still needed to tackle this global problem.

The objective of the study is to characterize the world scientific production on academic writing between the years 2011 to July 2021. A bibliometric study was carried out in five databases (Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar, Microsoft Academic and Crossref). Bibliometric indicators were analyzed in 4117 articles through Publish or Perish v. 7.19 and the same analytical software of the chosen databases. The results indicate that the article entitled “Codemeshing in academic writing: Identifying teachable strategies of translanguaging” is the document with the highest number of citations; Montserrat Castelló Badía, the most cited author; Journal Of English For Academic Purposes stands out as the medium with the largest number of publications on the subject; and among the countries that concentrate the largest production on creative writing, the United States, the United Kingdom, China, Australia and Spain stand out. It is concluded that the rate of publications will increase in the following months, which means continuing to periodically carry out measurements on scientific production to determine the evolution and contributions of the scientific material produced.

It was downloaded a database of scientific production published in the last five years in the Clarivate Analitycs database — Web of Science - in the field of copyright. The downloaded database is analysed with VOS Viewer, scientometric analysis software. The subject analysed is used in many areas of research, as well as pure copyright, but also associated with the fields of medicine, nanoelectronics, genetics. The method used can be multiplied for any topic or domain.
