Future engineers require global and intercultural competencies to prepare them to work in an increasingly multicultural, digitized, and interdependent global economy. To enhance engineering students' international exposure, awareness, and cultural experiences, the authors developed a unique international virtual team program that engaged students in collaborative project-based learning with peers around the world. Each virtual team consisted of multidisciplinary students from various countries and institutions. The students' knowledge and understanding of intercultural competence were evaluated before and after the program to ascertain its impact on their understanding of intercultural sensitivities and collaboration in virtual teams. Recommendations for learning enhancements were proposed. The authors found the integration of intercultural content with the global virtual team projects to be a successful strategy for helping engineering students build intercultural competencies and virtual collaboration skills, in addition to technical engineering knowledge and experience.

Tourism is an important economic activity in most countries around the world. As well as its direct economic impact, the industry has significant indirect and induced impacts. The outlook for the Tourism sector in 2017 remains robust and will continue to be at the forefront of wealth and employment creation in the global economy, despite the emergence of a number of challenging headwinds. In tourism, GDP growth is expected to accelerate to 3.8%, up from 3.1% in 2016. As nations seem to be looking increasingly inward, putting in place barriers to trade and movement of people, the role of Tourism becomes even more significant, as an engine of economic development and as a vehicle for sharing cultures, creating peace, and building mutual understanding.

The first day of January 2005 marked a dramatic turning point in the history of India. By deliberately excluding pharmaceutical products from patent protection for the previous 34 years, India became a world leader in high-quality generic drug manufacturing. But India’s entry into the global economy at the end of the 20th century, as evidenced by membership in the World Trade Organization (WTO), compelled the nation to once again award patents on drugs. Moreover, India henceforth would have to apply internationally-accepted criteria for granting patents, and the term of its patents would have to extend twenty years beyond filing.

Abstract Based on the development of positive relations between China and the Arab countries in the context of a new globalization on the path to a multipolar world, this study addresses the following methodological issues: China’s development achievements in the reform and the opening-up movement, China’s success in the face of the Covid-19 epidemic, and the analysis of the notion of “Sustainable Development” and the Chinese characteristics of the concept of socialism. Accurate scientific conclusions confirmed that sustainable development with Chinese characteristics constitutes a distinct model of rational and balanced development that achieved the well-being of the Chinese population. The Belt and Road Initiative has been widely welcomed in all Arab countries. Arab institutions, both official and private, have begun to study the Chinese development model to build a new style of development based on social stability, economic prosperity and mutual benefit. China is a leading model for promoting the common interest of people. China contributes positively to the well-being of its people and the rest of the world through cooperation. It is moving forward with high-quality development plans that provide new opportunities to revive the global economy, which is suffering from the drawbacks of the Covid-19 pandemic. Having presented China as a leading human model of inclusive development to realize the Chinese Dream, the enlightened Arab elites have shown increasing interest in this high-quality experiment that has succeeded in eradicating poverty, combating Covid-19, helping the recovery of the global economy, and promoting opportunities for advancement, innovation and creativity on a global level. Since China’s development was built on moral and humanitarian rules, it is warmly welcomed in the Arab countries because it affirms that humans are the greatest capital and the goal of sustainable development. It offers rich and useful lessons for everyone around the world.

Modern Economic Space in Polish Cities as a Symptom of Globalisation Globalisation primarily embraces cities, which turn into major nodes of the global economic network. It is here that huge transnational corporations locate their operations, an intensive exchange of information takes place, and the largest global flows are registered. In seeking to adjust their economic and spatial structure to the requirements of the competitive global economy, cities undertake large-scale infrastructural investments and develop new forms of organisation of their economic space, including scientific-technological parks, high-quality spaces offering services to producers and business people, and modern office districts where the headquarters of global corporations, international economic organisations and financial institutions are concentrated. The aim of the paper is to analyse the resources of modern economic space in Polish cities in the age of dynamic globalisation, in particular such elements of this space as high-quality office stock and technological parks.
