The kindergarten teacher’s spoken language course is the core course of the preschool education major. Its main purpose is to cultivate and improve the students’ ability to comprehensively use the kindergarten teacher’s oral language. This article is guided by the OBE concept, with the teaching goal of cultivating students’ thinking ability as the main goal, and adopts the 5P mode in classroom teaching, namely preparation, proposition, panel discussion, and debate display (Performance) and perfection (Perfection), thereby improving the teaching quality of kindergarten teachers’ oral courses.

Aim. The number of kindergartens is swelling in China, and that of private kindergartens in particular. The quality of teaching in the latter is positively linked to the levels of teachers’ professional competence. Thus, to enhance the teaching quality in private kindergartens, strengthening teacher’s professional competence is one of the vital approaches. Teacher’s professional competence can be enhanced via effective CPD activities. Therefore, this study aims to explore the types and content of CPD activities for Chinese private kindergarten teachers. Methods. A qualitative approach was adopted in this research. 18 kindergarten teachers were selected as participants from three private kindergartens in Shenzhen. Data was collected by semi-structured interview from 18 teachers. Results and conclusion. The findings showed that the school-based CPD activities are valued by most private kindergarten teachers. Furthermore, this study found that CPD activities can help private kindergarten teachers to be more inclusive and positive in teaching. They enabled teachers to acquire knowledge and skills that are relevant to child care and development, teaching, as well as cooperation with colleagues and children’s parents. Practical application. The research findings presented herein have significant implications for the knowledge base of private kindergarten teachers’ CPD in China. It also has implications for the practice that is relevant to private kindergarten teachers, principals and policy makers.

In recent years, with the expansion and extension of China’s free trade platform, construction has gradually developed toward Southeast Asia and South Asia, thus resulting in the phenomena whereby Thai language courses have become more common and more universities have begun to cultivate Thai language majors. In this process, improving the effectiveness of Thai courses has become the key; therefore, schools and Thai language teachers should pay attention to this. In order to achieve the language teaching goal put forward by the Ministry of Education, it is necessary to accelerate the development of Thai courses in universities and explore a new development path for them, so that the teaching quality of Thai courses can be guaranteed. Based on this, this paper mainly discusses the development history of the curriculum of Thai language courses in universities.

The chapter first examines at a conceptual level the links between theories of social investment and childcare expansion. Although ‘the perfect match’ between the two is often taken for granted in the specialized literature as well as in policy papers, it is here argued that a more nuance approach that ‘unpacks’ this relationship is needed. The chapter will then look for elements of variation in early childhood education and care (ECEC) expansion. Despite an increase in spending over the last two decades in many European and Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries, wide variation still exists in the way in which ECEC develops. A trade-off is often observed between coverage and quality of provision. A crucial dividing line that determines, to a large extent, the quality of provision in ECEC is the increasing differentiation between preschool education for children aged 3 and above and childcare for younger children.

The introductory programming course, commonly known as CS1 and offered as a core course in the first year in all engineering programs in India, is unique because it can address higher cognitive levels, metacognition and some aspects of the affective domain. It can provide much needed transformative experiences to students coming from a system of school education that is dominantly performance-driven. Unfortunately, the CS1 course, as practiced in almost all engineering programs, is also performance-driven because of a variety of compulsions. This paper suggests that the inclusion of a course CS0 can bring about transformative learning that can potentially make a significant difference in the quality of learning in all subsequent engineering courses. The suggested instruction design of this course takes the advantage of the unique features of a course in programming. The proposed CS0 course uses “extreme apprenticeship” and “guided discovery” methods of instruction. The effectiveness of these instruction methods was established through the use of the thematic analysis, a well-known qualitative research method, and the associated coding of transformative learning experiences and instruction components.

Background Minimally invasive surgery is a rising trend in colorectal surgery and is on its way to becoming the gold standard due to the benefits it provides for patients. This study aims to test the efficacy for educational purposes by evaluating the videos published on YouTube ( www.youtube.com ) channel for low anterior resection procedure in rectum surgery. Methods We searched YouTube on October 17, 2020 to choose video clips that included relevant information about laparoscopic low anterior resection (LAR) for rectal cancer. Results We included 25 academics and 75 individual videos in this study. The teaching quality of the videos was evaluated according to academic and individual videos, and it was seen that the teaching quality scores of academic videos were higher and this result was statistically significant ( P = .03). The modified Laparoscopic Surgery Video Educational Guidelines (LAP-VEGaS) criteria were found that the score was higher in individual videos ( P = .014). The median Video Power Index (VPI) value was 1.50 (range .05-347) and the mean ratio was 7.01 ± 3.52. There was no statistically significant difference between the 2 groups ( P = .443). Discussion Video-based surgical learning is an effective method for surgical education. Our study showed that the video quality and educational content of most of the videos about the low anterior resection procedure on YouTube were low. The videos of academic origin seem more valuable than individual videos. As far as video popularity is concerned, YouTube viewers are not selective. For this reason, training videos to be used for educational purposes must be passed through a standardized evaluation filter.

In recent years, screen soft proofing has matured with the development of color management and display technology, and it has become the direction of printing development and the key of promotion. This article aimed at raising a testing scheme of display performance and adjusting scheme of corresponding display parameters, on this account to test the professional display’s performance, adjust display parameters and make color management. At the same time with reflecting the actual situation of display, a stable and accurate color reproduction environment was provided for screen soft proofing. After that, evaluations were carried out to evaluate printing quality of screen soft proofing on the condition that display’s performance was good, consequently the differences between proofing effects and final printing were studied. The result shows that this testing scheme of display performance can reflect the truth of display which is tested in this paper, the display after adjusted and color management according to this scheme shows good effect in the ability of screen analog proofing original, it can approach the requirements of the printing proofing.
