Statistical data is provided on the trends in adoption of Russian orphans by citizens of the Kingdom of Spain. The article employs the following methods of scientific research: historical, comparative-legal, statistical, and systemic analysis. The relevance of the selected topic is substantiated by the fact the for many years Spain demonstrates consistent interest in this question, ranking second among other countries that adopt children from the Russian Federation. At the same time, the legal and bureaucratic framework for realization of Russian-Spanish cooperation in this field requires improvements. The authors conclude that although the number of adopted Russian orphans by Spanish citizens has dropped in recent years, it is necessary to continue cooperation in this field by improving the existing legislation.

Some moments in the history of the formation of the concept and the modern components of the mechanism of industrial corporations sustainable development, which comprehensively combines the managerial, economic, social and environmental aspects have been presented in the paper. The experience of disclosing information in the field of sustainable development by the largest metallurgical corporations having assets in the Russian Federation has been presented and analyzed as well. The research has shown that using the unified GRI Standards recommendations, management of each corporation independently determines the number and composition of indices required to assess the Triple Bottom Line. It has been concluded that the lack of a unified methodology for disclosing information in the field of achieving sustainable development results does not allow corporations to compare them, since one of the main principles of scientific research, i.e. the principle of results comparability is violated. The following authors’ position is defended: in order to eliminate the reasons that complicate the comparative assessment of the results of sustainable development of industrial corporations, the reporting methodology needs to be improved.

The article considers the personal contribution of the outstanding historian of the Russian middle ages Academician Mikhail Nikolaevich Tikhomirov to the national concept of documentary sources (book rarities) preservation. The scientist expressed a generalized view of historical science about how the work on the book heritage preservation at the national level had to be organized most effectively, systemically and “eco-friendly”. From the point of the present-day view on the practice of book rarities preservation in the Russian Federation, he justified the exceptional relevance and proposed the main principles of documents preservation, which are now basic at the law and library practice level. The historical science development determined the establishment of conservation centres in libraries, since a serious obstacle to historical research was the problem of poorly organized and, sometimes, careless storage of historical documents in libraries, museums and archives. In accord to the brief history of scientific conservation in Russia, this time is viewed as the beginning of the most active development of scientific conservation methods and their introduction into library practice. In the middle of the XX century, Tikhomirov proposed and formed the concept of book rarities preservation, consisting of such important components as: scientific research and popularization of book rarities and their value for the society, organization of public and state associations aimed at implementation of these tasks; search and collection of privately owned book rarities on the national scale (archeographic inspection of the territory of Russia), scientific publication of documents, catalogues of scientific descriptions compiling and forming the Union catalogue on their basis; scientific research of the material basis, conditions of ensuring physical safety and arrangement of work on book rarities preservation; legislative and regulatory support of all activities on book rarities preservation.

The research was prepared with the financial support of Russian Science Foundation, grant no. 20-18-00294, at the Research Institute for Theory and History of Architecture and Town Planning, branch of the Central Research and Project Institute of the Construction Ministry of Russia (Moscow). The paper analyses the particularities of architecture and murals in the churches of St. Demetrius and St. Nicholas in Prilep, North Macedonia. Both churches were built and painted in several phases, which generated various views on their attribution and dating in the scholarly literature. The authors argue that the last rebuilding of St. Demetrius church was done by the same crew that finished the construction of St. Nicholas church between 1284 and 1298. Many specific traits indicate that these builders came to Prilep from the central regions of the Despotate of Epirus. Analyzing painting style the authors conclude that one or two local painters were responsible for the murals in the altar zones of the two churches. There are also wall paintings belonging to other layers in the both churches. The master who finished the painting in the church of St. Nicholas in 1298 could be of Epirote origine, although some traits of his style reveal the knowledge of local trends in the art of Macedonia too.
