Information systems are widely used in organizations and play a very important role in improving an organization’s performance. In recent years knowledge management has become an important issue for managers, consultants and researchers. This paper describes definition and attribution of management information system and knowledge management. It clarifies points like data, information, process, information systems, management information systems and knowledge management system. The approach of this research is to analyze both systems in order to identify their role in an organization, the relationship between them, discover common and uncommon features between the two systems, determine the added value of knowledge management system to the organization’s performance and efficiency over the existing information system and to find out when an information system becomes a knowledge management system and when it is useful to implement the latter.

Information Systems today are dominated by large amounts of computing infrastructure often mapping business processes to people and data. The conversion of this data into meaningful information is fairly well established, although these systems have not been extensively exploited within developing countries. Even in developed economies, where resources and experience flourish, many still struggle with moving from information management to knowledge management. Given that knowledge is posited as the new organizational wealth, it becomes important to integrate knowledge into improving the business and its operations. In this study, a comprehensive process model that guides the conversion of an existing information system to a knowledge management system is developed and evaluated. This is primarily applicable in the developing country context. The results indicate that the model sufficiently represents and organizes the activities to be carried out to meet the desired outcome of converting an existing information system into a knowledge management system.

Abstract - Knowledge management is needed right now, but many companies or institutions are constrained in conducting knowledge management because of the limitations of the information system. In Information Systems Study Program Universitas Terbuka still uses a manual system that uses Windows file explorer. This results in the difficulty of sharing information with outsiders. Therefore we need a web-based knowledge management information system design that can solve problems so far. The design model in this article uses the Unified Modeling Language (UML) model, which is a structural model and techniques for modeling object-oriented program (OOP) design. The results of the design of knowledge management information systems are expected to be able to help develop software later. Keywords: information systems, knowledge management, Unified Modeling Language (UML).   Abstrak - Knowledge manajemen merupakan hal yang dibutuhkan saat ini, namun banyak perusahaan atau lembaga terkendala dalam melakukan knowledge manajemen karena keterbatasan sistem informasi. Di Prodi Sistem Informasi Universitas Terbuka masih menggunakan sistem manual yaitu menggunakan windows file explorer. Hal ini mengakibatkan sulitnya berbagi informasi dengan pihak luar. Oleh sebab itu dibutuhkan sebuah perancangan sistem informasi manajemen knowledge berbasis web yang bisa menyelesaikan permasalahan selama ini. Model perancangan pada artikel ini menggunakan model Unified Modeling Language (UML) yaitu model struktur dan teknik untuk pemodelan desain program berorientasi objek (OOP). Hasil yang dari perancangan sistem informasi manajemen knowledge ini diharapkan bisa membatu pengembangan perangkat lunak nantinya.                                                                                                                     Kata Kunci: sistem informasi, manajemen knowledge, Unified Modeling Language (UML).

Este artigo teve por objetivo descrever usos e aplicações de três ferramentas de gestão presentes no ambiente empresarial contemporâneo: a Tecnologia da Informação (TI), os Sistemas de Informações Gerenciais (SIG) e a Gestão do Conhecimento (GC). Foi realizada revisão narrativa de literatura. Verificou-se que o fluxo de informações funciona como o elemento unificador entre TI, SIG e a GC. Ao possibilitarem o uso adequado de informações e de pessoas com vistas ao alcance dos objetivos organizacionais, fomentam a criação de vantagens competitivas. Identificou-se, então, que a introdução dessas ferramentas, ao alterar processos internos e externos, contribui para o desenvolvimento das organizações.Palavras-Chave: Tecnologia da Informação. Vantagem Competitiva. Abstract: This article aims to describe uses and applications of three management tools present in the contemporary business environment: Information Technology (IT), Information Systems Management (ISM) and Knowledge Management (KM). A narrative review of the literature was performed. It was verified that the information flow works as the unifying element between IT, ISM and KM. By enabling the proper use of information and people to achieve the organizational objectives, they promote the creation of competitive advantages. It was identified, then, that the introduction of these tools, by altering internal and external processes, contributes to the development of organizations.Keywords: Information Technology. The paper combine cloud computing with knowledge management, and classify the knowledge management of enterprise information management system, finally the paper plan and design the overall architecture of enterprise management information system. According to the model of cloud computing, establish the cloud computing platform based on the construction of cloud computing and virtualization technology, in order to achieve the overall architecture of the management information system of enterprise that migrate to the cloud computing environment. This paper mainly introduced in the cloud computing architecture of enterprise management information system under the environment of cloud computing and implementation of knowledge management system.

A mosque organization plays a role as a public sector organization that manages the mosque’s resources and activities. The management and resources in the mosque are mostly done voluntarily. The development of information technology (IT) has provided various means for management in managing business and decision-making. Nonetheless, the measurement or assessment of the quality of an effective information system is hard to carry out directly, including cost-benefit measurement. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed in this field research. The findings reveal the quality system, quality information, process quality, collaborative quality and service quality contributed to the mosque management information systems. Website/webblog-based mosque run effectively and obtained accountable information in the city of Pekalongan. The management of the mosque’s website in this city has been established effectively since it applies the management of mosque information systems by using DeLone and McLean’s model of information system success, which includes system quality management, collaborative quality, and service quality of website/webblog-based mosque in Pekalongan City.

The purpose of the research is to identify the problem in the port management information system, analyze what needs to be managed in the port management information systems, provide recommendations on the management of information systems management. The research method uses a qualitative analysis approach, in which the port management is still unsatisfactory, therefore, to manage port services requires technology application-based management information system the one that is currently being developed is Inaportnet, in the early stages of this technology application used for the port is already cultivated. The expected result is that the application of information technology-based systems are expected to increase the harbor management performance and the government is expected to direct, supervise and enforce the stakeholders in the port who violate the rules.

Knowledge Management System, with its database consisting of details of equipment capability, test methods, references and expertise of individuals is introduced in RDCIS laboratories through existing wide spread LAN on windows NT platform. Being a R&D organisation, both codification and personalisation strategies were adopted carefully to reuse and share the knowledge efficiently. This involves capturing of inherent knowledge and storing it in a web based hyperlinked information system so that it can be retrieved whenever and wherever needed. A two layer K M platform, based on Distributed interNetApplications of Microsoft has been designed and implemented successfully for this purpose. Significant improvement has been noticed in effective utilisation of equipment potential through systematic approach of knowledge sharing beside continuous enrichment of data bank.

ABSTRAK Sistem informasi akademik merupakan lalu lintas komunikasi antara Dosen, mahasiswa, dan aktivitas yang berhubungan dengan kebutuhan mahasiswa dalam kegiatan perkuliahan. Sistem informasi akademik my Unpam ini terdiri dari my Dosen, my Unpam, perpustakaan, e-learning, helpdesk dan PMB online. Untuk mengetahui kebergunaan pengetahuan pada sistem akademik ini perlu dilakukan analisis knowledge management system berupa konversi pengetahuan tacit to tacit dan tacit to explicit yang digunakan sebagai tujuan penelitian ini. Metode penelitian ini yaitu studi pustaka dan observasi atau analisis terhadap website akademik Unpam. Sistem informasi akdemik UNPAM telah menerapkan knowledge Management System dengan beberapa konversi pengetahuannya. Konversi yang digunakan yaitu tacit to tacit dan tacit to explicit. Hasil persentase pengetahuan yaitu my Dosen sebanyak 25%, my UNPAM 35 %, E-Learning 10.5 %, Perpustakaan sebanyak 11.8%, Helpdesk 2% dan PMB 14.4%. Dengan demikian nilai tertinggi dan terbanyak konversi pengetahuan yaitu pada halaman web My Unpam yang sering diakses oleh mahasiswa.  ABSTRACT Academic information system is the communication traffic between lecturers, students, and activities related to the needs of students in lecturing activities. My Unpam academic information system consists of my lecturer, my Unpam, library, e-learning, helpdesk and PMB online. To know the usefulness of knowledge in the academic system needs to be done knowledge management system analysis in the form of tacit to tacit knowledge conversion and tacit to explicit used as the purpose of this study. This research method is literature study and observation or analysis on academic website Unpam. The information system of UNPAM has applied the knowledge management system with some of its knowledge conversion. The conversion used is tacit to tacit and tacit to explicit. The result of knowledge percentage is my lecturer 25%, my UNPAM 35%, E-Learning 10.5%, Library 11.8%, 2% Helpdesk and PMB 14.4%. Thus, the highest value and the most knowledge conversion is on the My Unpam web page that is often accessed by students.
