The seed fund is considered as a basis of food independence of the country and seed certification in many developed countries, including the Russian Federation, is care of the state. Seed farming of vegetable cultures in our country is complicated by adverse soil-climatic conditions of the majority of regions. The quality of the made seeds which does not conform to requirements of the modern agriculture providing uses of the homogeneous seeds with high field viability remains the main problem of branch. The modern level of development of scientific knowledge provides application of instrumental methods of the analysis of quality of the seeds differing in high informational content, speed and ease of execution. We developed and approved a method X-ray analysis of quality of vegetable seeds. Now programming, automation of this method is conducted. The way of the digital analysis of x-ray images in the automatic mode comes to replacement of earlier applied visual analysis of radiographs of seeds. The modernized hardware and software system is developed and approved, the program algorithm consisting of several stages is developed. There is a completion and approbation of the new software for the automatic analysis of graphic files of X-ray image of seeds of vegetable cultures under the name "Sortsemkontrol-1.0". Development and deployment of a method of the automatic analysis of x-ray images of vegetable seeds is essential to accelerate process, will increase its informational content and will allow to get rid of subjectivity, connected by the visual analysis of radiographs.

A serious problem of vegetable production is the quality of sown seeds. In this regard, assessment of seed quality before sowing and storage is of great practical interest. The modern level of scientific research requires the use of instrumental automated methods of seed quality evaluation, allowing to obtain more information and in a shorter time. The material for the study was a variety of samples from the collection of Brassica oleracea L., var. capitata, Raphanus sativus L., var. radicula, and Lepidium sativum L. seeds from the Federal Scientific Center of Vegetable Breeding and the Timofeev Selection Station. Digital X-ray images of seeds were obtained using a mobile X-ray diagnostic device PRDU-02. Automatic analysis of digital X-ray images was performed in the software “VideoTesT-Morphology 5.2.” The following latent defects of cabbage seeds of economic importance were revealed and identified: irregular darkening, significant “patterning” with deep separation of embryo parts, “angularity of seeds” leading to the loss of their viability. Automatic analysis of digital X-ray images of seeds confirmed the informativeness of brightness indices of digital X-ray images, as well as shape indices. Their connection with sowing qualities of the studied seeds was established.

Inadequate attention is paid to the preparation of quality illustrations for scientific publications on traumatology and orthopaedics. Review of the quality of 1221 pictures in three typical journals shows that the majority of patients’ photographs are made against the bad background, with presence of foreign objects, and the photos are made from the angle that does not allow making a reliable picture of function restoration. X-ray examination results and intraoperative photographs are not without disadvantages. Recommendations that can considerably improve the quality of the presenting illustrations and its informational content are given.

Traditional morphometric methods of seed quality analysis, although they are accurate, are less informative, labor-intensive and long-term in execution. In modern conditions, in seed science and seed control, the use of more informative and high-speed instrumental methods is required. The method of microfocus X-ray of seeds is one of them, it allows you to visualize the internal structure of seeds. In the joint work of employees of the Federal Scientific Vegetable Center, Agrophysical Research Institute and St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical University, Research Institute for Storage Problems of "Rosrezerv", a method of X-ray analysis of the quality of vegetable seeds was developed and tested. Currently, programming, automation of this method is underway. The method of digital analysis of X-ray images in automatic mode comes as a replacement for the previously applied visual analysis of seed radiographs. A modernized software and hardware complex was developed and tested, a program algorithm was compiled, consisting of several stages. As a result, the quality analysis of seeds is significantly accelerated by visualizing their internal structure. The newly developed computer program "Sortsemkontrol-2" recognizes seeds according to the following qualitative indicators: full-value, underdevelopment, undevelopment, monstrous. The analysis results are automatically reported as a log. The fractional analysis of the seed batch is also carried out, the dimensional characteristic of each fraction is given, according to the two largest adjacent fractions, the equalization of the seed batch is determined. Fractional analysis of a batch of seeds is of great practical importance for pre-production of seeds. In the future, the application of the computer program "Sortsemkontrol-2" will provide an accelerated, at the same time informative analysis of the quality of seeds, which is very important in the conditions of commercialization of seed turnover.

ABSTRACT The assessment of the quality of native forest species seeds is extremely important and, in this sense, it is necessary to integrate new technologies that can complement the quality analysis traditionally used. This study aimed to evaluate the physical and physiological quality of Piptadenia gonoacantha seeds using image analysis techniques and to relate aspects of tissue integrity with physiological attributes. Seeds from 10 lots were collected and submitted to automatic and visual analyses of radiographic images, with the determination of parameters related to tissue density and seed filling. After the X-ray test, the seeds were subjected to physiological analyses of germination and vigor. It was observed that the lots that presented higher values of tissue density, filling, and solidity, presented higher germination and vigor. It was also evident that the damage present in the seeds was causally related their physiological condition. Therefore, the results showed that the use of the X-ray technique in seeds combined with the automated analysis of the radiographs is efficient in the evaluation of the internal morphology of P. gonoacantha seeds. The physical integrity of the seed tissues is directly related to the physiological quality and allows the classification of different lots as to vigor. Visual analysis of digital radiographs is adequate to identify malformation in P. gonoacantha seeds.

Abstract More than a thousand laparoscopic fundoplication operations for hiatal hernia (HH) have been performed at the Clinic of the Bashkir State Medical University over the period between 2000 and 2019 and the results of surgical treatment of 502 patients were analyzed. Our research results indicate that routine instrumental methods used in hiatal hernia diagnosis provide valuable information, however only their combined application allows us to establish the correct diagnosis in all patients. Authors propose a new original X-ray balloon method that allows to improve the quality of diagnosis of hiatal hernia significantly. Balloon X-ray allows us to establish the true dimensions of the hiatus and select the most appropriate treatment accordingly. Isolated fundoplication without plastic of esophageal opening was performed in 180 patients. Surgical correction of the hiatus was performed on 322 patients. Diaphragmcrouroraphy was carried out in 199 cases, in 123 cases mesh implants were used to support the crus of the diaphragm. In 215 cases, simultaneous surgical procedures were performed to treat multiple abdominal pathology. We studied the changes in quality of life of 100 patients with hiatal hernia before and after laparoscopic esophagofundoplication by comparing the results of the survey (questionnaires) and medical examination of the cardiac sphincter of the esophagus function. The vast majority of patients demonstrated a significant improvement in the cardiac closure function, a decrease in the frequency and severity of gastroesophageal reflux, and reduced signs of reflux esophagitis.

This paper discusses the relation between the quality and quantity indicators of physical capital and modernisation. While international academic literature emphasises the role of intangible factors enabling technology generation and absorption rather than that of physical capital accumulation, this paper argues that the quantity and quality of physical capital are important modernisation factors, particularly in the case of small, undercapitalised countries that recently integrated into the world economy. The paper shows that in Hungary, as opposed to developed countries, the technological upgrading of capital assets was not necessarily accompanied by the upgrading of human capital i.e. the thesis of capital skill complementarity did not apply to the first decade of transformation and capital accumulation in Hungary. Finally, the paper shows that there are large differences between the average technological levels of individual industries. The dualism of the Hungarian economy, which is also manifest in terms of differences in the size of individual industries' technological gaps, is a disadvantage from the point of view of competitiveness. The increasing differences in the size of the technological gaps can be explained not only with industry-specific factors, but also with the weakness of technology and regional development policies, as well as with institutional deficiencies.
