The ability to solve problems is a process in which a person identifies a situation, formulates a hypothesis, verifies a hypothesis made by digging up data, and restarts the hypothesis made to become a generalization (Purwanto, 1999). The focus of this research is to analyze the influence of the use of the Kampung Warna Warni Jodipan as a source of learning for students' ability to solve problems in MTs Attaraqqie Malang on the theme of tackling environmental pollution. This study uses an experimental research design in the form of a Quasi-Experimental Design with the type of pretest posttest control group design. The sample in this study were students of class IX A and IX D with purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques using test questions in the form of problem description. The data analysis technique in this study was to use the independent sample t-test. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant influence on the use of the Kampung Warna Warni Jodipan as a source of learning for students' problem solving abilities, this is evidenced by the results of the independent sample t-test which shows that there is a significant influence on the use of the Kampung Warna Warni Jodipan. , with tcount> ttable which is 5,450> 2,000. This shows that there are significant differences in the ability to solve problems in the experimental and control classes.

This research aims at developing Speaking Skill through Interview. Its method was quasi-experimental research non-equivalent control group design. Its population was the students of grade VIII at SMP Negeri 1 Palu, in which consists of thirteen parallel classes. The experimental class consists of 29 students and control class consists of 30 students. It was done in eight meetings. The variables of this research were speaking skill and interview. The samples of this research were students of grade VIII C and VIII D, selected through cluster sampling technique. Its results indicate that the application of interview has overcome the students’ problem. After analyzing them, the result of t-counted was 10.01. By applying degree of freedom (df) 57(29+30-2), and the level significant 0.05, the value of t-table was 2.00. So,  the value of t-counted was higher than t-table. It means that the hypothesis of this research was accepted. Thus, the interview can be applied to develop speaking skill of students grade VIII  at  SMP Negeri 1 Palu.

This study aimed to answer whether using chessboard technique in responding to short story develops student’s speaking skill or not. The method used in this study was one of the quasi-experimental designs: pretest-posttest non-equivalent comparison control group design. The population of the study was the eleventh-grade student at SMA N 12Palembang and the sample were taken from the population by using purposive sampling. The data were collected by using two instruments, test and questionnaire. The test wasgiven twice to the experimental and control group, as the pretest and the posttest. Thequestionnaire was distributed to the experimental group after conducting the treatment to get more information related to the problem of the study. To verify the hypothesis, thedata from pretest and posttest on the experimental and control group were analyzed byusing paired sample t-test and independent sample t-test. The result of the study showed that applying chessboard technique in responding to the short story develops student’s speaking skills. Some students (60%) in the experimental group achieve good category compared to only a few students (20%) in control group.

<p class="JKKAbstrakBodyIndo">The problem for pregnant women is iron anemia. The natural material that contains iron is honey. The study aims to determine the difference in hemoglobin levels in pregnant anemic who are supplemented Fe tablets and honey. Quasi-experimental research with nonrandomized pretest and posttest with control group design. Samples amounted to 30 people with purposive sampling technique. Analysis using paired t-test and independent sample t-test. The hemoglobin levels of anemic pregnant given Fe tablets only increased by 0,31gr/dl (3,21%), while those given Fe tablets and honey increased 1,06gr/dl (12,20%). Combination Fe tablets and honey can be an alternative for increasing hemoglobin in anemic pregnant.</p><p> </p>

The aim of this research was to find out the effect of cooperative learning type snowballthrowing to improve student learning achievement on the reliance mutualin in theecosystem concept. The research was conducted at SMP Negeri 18 Pekanbaru at firstsemester in academic years 2014 / 2015. Design of the research was quasi-experimental,The Matching Only Pretest – Posttest Control Group Design. Sample of the research wastaken two classes with the number of students in each 40 people who were taken by usingsimple random sampling technique. The data were collected by using pretest, posttest andteacher’s and students’ activities observation sheets. The data analysis technique used inthis research was 2 sample independent t test, if the data were normal and homogen. Themean N-gain experimental class was 0.72 high category and the control class was 0.44medium category. Based on the result of statistical test that there were significantdifferences between the mean N-Gain experimental class and control class. Thereby canbe conluded that there were significant application of cooperative learning type snowballthrowing to improve student learning achievement on the reliance mutualin in theecosystem concept class VII SMPN 18 pekanbaru academic year 2014 / 2015.

<p class="AbstractEnglish"><strong>Abstract: </strong>STEM-based learning can help students to use technology and compile an experiment that can prove a postulate or concept. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of Smartphone Microscopes as STEM-based physics learning media to improve understanding of optical concepts. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental method with a Post-Test Only Control Group Design research design, which involved 84 Physic Education students as research samples. Determination of the sample using a cluster Random sampling technique. The research instrument used was an observation sheet and an optical concept understanding test sheet. The data analysis technique used is .the Paired Sample T-test. The results showed that 1) smartphone microscope is one of the most effective learning media in STEM learning, and 2) The understanding of student intelligence concepts increases through STEM learning.</p><p class="AbstrakIndonesia"><strong>Abstrak: </strong>Pembelajaran berbasis STEM dapat membantu peserta didik untuk menggunakan teknologi dan merangkai sebuah percobaan yang dapat membuktikan sebuah hukum atau konsep sains. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui peranan <em>Microscope Smartphone</em> sebagai media pembelajaran Fisika dalam implementasi pembelajaran berbasis STEM untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep optik.  Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuasi-eksperimen dengan desain penelitian <em>The Pretest </em><em>Post</em><em>t</em><em>est Only Control Group Design</em>, yang melibatkan 84 mahasiswa Pendidikan Fisika sebagai sampel penelitian. Penentuan sampel menggunakan teknik <em>cluster </em><em>rundom </em><em>sampling</em>. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi dan lembar tes pemahaman konsep optik. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan <em>Paired Sample T-test</em>. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) <em>microscope smartphone</em> merupakan salah satu media pembelajaran yang cukup efektif dalam pembelajaran STEM, dan 2) Pemahaman konsep optik mahasiswa meningkatkan melalui pembelajaran STEM</p>

This research is a quasi-experimental aims to identify the effect of problem-based learning model using virtual simulation media towards the students’ concept mastery and creativity in physics. The design of this research used of non-equivalent control group design, while the sampling technique used purposive sampling. The population of this research is all students of grade X SMAN 2 Mataram, while the sampling are the students of grade X-3 as the experimental group and the students of grade X-4 as control group. The data obtained in this research is  data mastery of concept and creativity. The research hypothesis was tested using t-test polled variances. The test result showed that the N-gain mastery of concepts has increased in each sub material and the highest increase in the sub matter theory of electromagnetic waves. Values of N-gain experimental group in the high category (71%) and control group in the medium category (53%). T-test showed that the model is applied to significant influence on improving students’ mastery of concepts and creativity, higher in the experimental group compared with the control group. Increased figural creativity higher than verbal creativity in both classes

Science learning carried out by teachers mostly uses conventional methods and rarely uses media in the activities of their teaching and learning process. Media mind mapping in physics learning can be used to describe a lot of material and can package it to be more interesting. The aim of this research to determine the effect of mind mapping media toward the students’ concept understanding. This study used quasi-experimental research with pretest and posttest control group design. The population used was all students of class X in SMA Negeri 1 Lingsar at 2018/2019 Academic Year. The number of samples are 32 students for the experiment class and 33 students for the control class taken by purposive sampling technique. Data analysis technique used is the t-test using IBM SPSS Statistics 22. Based on the results of hypothesis testing (t test), it is known that the significance value of the posttest data (0.00) is smaller than alpha testing (0.05), so it can be stated that the mind mapping learning method influences the students' understanding of concepts.

This research is motivated by the availability of the snake and ladder game on the material of the kingdoms of Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism based on HOTS questions which have not been tested for their effectiveness on student learning outcomes. This study aims to reveal the effectiveness level of the use of snake and ladder media in the material of Islamic, Hindu and Buddhist kingdoms on student learning outcomes at SDN Ngaringan 03 Blitar. This type of research is a quasi-experimental research design with a non-equivalent control group design. The population in this study were grade 4 students at SDN Ngaringan Blitar. The research sample was taken using purposive sampling technique so that class 4A was selected as the experimental class and class 4 B as the control class. The instrument of this research is a test of learning outcomes by providing a pretest and posttest in the form of an objective test with 4 answer choices as many as 25 items taken from 40 questions that have been tested. The data analysis technique used was the N-Gain test and the two-mean similarity test (t-test). The results showed an increase in learning outcomes was better in the experimental class than in the control class. This is evidenced by the posttest mean scores of the experimental class and the control class respectively 92.12 and 73.96. This is also evidenced by the average N-Gain test for the experimental class of 0.762 with the high category and the control class of 0.294 in the low category, and supported by hypothesis testing carried out by t-test using the Independent Samples Test showing Sign 2 Tailed < 0.05, this indicates that the use of snake and ladder media is effective.

SCIENTIFIC LITERACY OF SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS USING ETHNOSCIENCE BASED LEARNING CHEMISTRY Scientific literacy skills are needed to understand science issues, the risks, and benefits of science, and understand the nature of science, including its relationship to culture. This study aimed to determine students' scientific literacy in using ethnoscience-based learning-chemistry. The study Method used quasi-experimental by nonequivalent control group design. The subject was grade XI-MIPA  of SMAN 1 Kendal. The data collection techniques are test instruments to know students' scientific literacy. The analysis data technique is descriptive and inferential statistical analysis (independent sample t-test and N-gain). The results showed that the ethnoscience based learning-chemistry could increase students' scientific literacy. The mean score of students' scientific literacy on experiment and control class was 72% (high category) and 65% (medium category), and count -3,551 and table -1,995. N-gain score experiment class of 0,47 (medium) and control class of 0,28 (low). Ethnoscience-based chemistry learning can be used in chemistry learning to develop students' chemical literacy skills. AbstrakKemampuan literasi sains dibutuhkan untuk memahami isu-isu sains, resiko dan manfaat sains, serta untuk memahami sifat sains, termasuk hubungannya dengan budaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui kemampuan literasi sains siswa melalui pembelajaran kimia berbasis etnosains. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi experimental dengan desain nonequivalent control group design. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI MIPA SMAN 1 Kendal. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa tes untuk mengetahui kemampuan literasi siswa. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan statistik inferensial (independent sample t-test dan uji N-gain). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat dilihat bahwa pembelajaran kimia berbasis etnosains dapat meningkatkan kemampuan literasi sains siswa. Rerata skor kompetensi literasi sains siswa kelas eksperimen dan kontrol secara berturut-turut mendapat 72% dengan kategori tinggi dan  65% dengan kategori sedang, serta thitung sebesar -3,551, dan ttabelnya -1,995. Adapun nilai N-gain pada kelas eksperimen adalah 0,47 (kategori sedang) sedangkan kelas kontrol adalah 0,28 (kategori rendah). Pembelajaran kimia berbasis etnosains dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran kimia untuk mengembangkan kemampuan literasi kimia siswa.
