When organizations implement software process improvement programs they are seeking to increase productivity, reduce costs and enhance the quality of the resulting software. In fact, the quality of software products depends, to a great extent, on the processes used for their development and/or maintenance. However, despite this belief concerning the influence of the process on product quality, the specific process-product relationship has been poorly addressed in literature. This paper therefore analyzes the influence that software processes can have on software product usability, which is one of the most important quality characteristics since it influences how the user perceives the product. To this end, we present a systematic literature review examining the relationship between usability and software processes, which has allowed us to identify the processes that relevant studies consider to be important in enhancing product usability.

This is due to the fact that a considerable part of the knowledge that is useful for executing software processes is tacit and not all of it can be captured and made explicit. The purpose of this chapter is to present a framework for software process improvement based on the enrichment of organizational knowledge by means of the acquisition of tacit knowledge from individuals working in different teams and environments. The framework includes the specification of roles, processes, and tools, and is based on a process asset library and the introduction of configuration and change management mechanisms.

Software entities (software products or processes) are characterized by many attributes, each one in its turn can be measured by one or more measures. In several cases the software entities have to be evaluated as a whole, thus raising the problem of aggregating measures to give an overall, single view on the software entity. This paper presents a method to aggregate measures, which works by comparing the product/process with predefined, ideal entities, or profiles. Profiles are defined starting from ranges of values on measures of attributes. The method is based on two main phases, namely definition of the evaluation model and application of the evaluation model. It is presented through a simplified case study that deals with evaluating the level of quality of an asset to decide whether to accept it in a reuse repository. A plausible way of how the method could be applied to process maturity assessment is also provided. The advantages of the method are that it allows using ordinal scales, while it deals explicitly with preferences expressed, implicitly or explicitly, by the evaluator.

The success of a software product depends on several factors. Given that different organizations and institutions use software products, the need to have a quality and desirable software according to the goals and needs of the organization makes measuring the quality of software products an important issue for most organizations and institutions. To be sure of having the right software. It is necessary to use a standard quality model to examine the features and sub-features for a detailed and principled study in the quality discussion. In this study, the quality of Word software was measured. Considering the importance of software quality and to have a good and usable software in terms of quality and measuring the quality of software during the study, experts and skilled in this field were used and the impact of each factor and quality characteristics. It was applied at different levels according to their opinion to make the result of measuring the quality of Word software more accurate and closer to reality. In this research, the quality of the software product is measured based on the fuzzy inference system in ISO standard. According to the results obtained in this study, it is understood that quality is a continuous and hierarchical concept and the quality of each part of the software at any stage of production can lead to high quality products.

Introduction. The article is devoted to a current issue of improving the quality of road surface cleaning and increasing the resource of brush working equipment. Improving the quality of cleaning and the resource of the brush working equipment will reduce the cost of operating a communal machine. In the process of operation, the pile of the cylindrical brush is worns out, while its elastic characteristics change, which is reflected in the required pressing force to maintain the most favorable value of the width of the contact spot from the condition of ensuring high quality cleaning and minimal intensity of pile wear.Materials and methods. The results of studies of the interaction of the pile of a cylindrical brush with the surface to be cleaned are presented at various degrees of wear of the brush pile. The research results are presented in analytical and graphical forms. The calculations were carried out using the Microsoft Excel software product and the Mathkad software environment for mathematical calculations.Results. The paper shows the dependence of the degree of wear of the pile of the brush working equipment on the actual radius of the cylindrical brush. The relationship between the width of the contact spot and the deformation of the cylindrical brush at different degrees of wear and tear is shown as a graph.The influence of the degree of wear on the elastic characteristics of the brush working equipment is considered. The dependences of the average stiffness coefficient on the degree of wear of the pile of a cylindrical brush, as well as the required pressing force on the degree of wear at different values of the width of the contact patch of the cylindrical brush are given.

The relationship between marketing and new product development (NPD) is of great significance. It has been widely accepted that it also affects the success of the project or product to a large extent. But yet, this integration is not an easy task and presents lots of challenges to an organization. One of the major barriers is considered to be differences in the perceptions of marketing and NPD employees about each others’ tasks and the way they are supposed to cooperate. The study described in this paper is aimed at diagnosing these differences for a particular software products organization. The study has tried to capture these differences for integration behaviors between marketing and new product development (NPD) employees engaged in software product development. The study revealed that there was a significant difference between perception of marketing and new product development (NPD) employees over the current level of information flow from marketing to NPD as well the improvement required in the same. The priorities of marketing and NPD employees for improvement also seem to be quite different which is a serious concern as it can lead to lack of concerted effort in a particular direction. The paper describes these findings on the integration behaviours between marketing and NPD employees.

There is an obvious colloid state in sauce-flavor liquor due to its unique brewing process and long storage time, which is an important quality feature of sauce-flavor. Aiming at the problems of time, cost, and the strong professionalism of the traditional quality identification method, we proposed a method to identify the quality of sauce-flavored liquor based on the Tyndall phenomenon. The influence of different wavelengths of light on the light scattering in liquor was explored, and it was concluded that the ultraviolet and blue light bands have a certain efficiency in the identification of liquor. Additionally, we analyzed the relationship between the particle size uniformity of liquor colloids and liquor quality according to the Tyndall phenomenon. We found that higher quality liquor has a brighter and lighter Tyndall path and a smaller light flooding angle due to the uniformity of the particles in it. This method can be used to achieve qualitative identification and is suitable for the identification of sauce-flavored liquor.

The article is devoted to certain approaches that concerned a checking random values obtained from the generator of random (pseudorandom) values. The article provides the results of a practical research of the numbers which are obtained during the division operation. The research was directed to find out the ratio of even and odd numbers in a quotients and remainders in the results of performing of the division operation. The analysis was carried out due to the fact that the remainder and quotient of division is widely used in various algorithms of software tools intended for generating random and pseudorandom values (numbers). The results of the research, which are given in this scientific publication, confirm the existence of prerequisites for the outputting by the generator of pseudorandom values such values (numbers) which will not fully meet the criteria. First of all, it is a criterion which concerns parity and oddity of the numbers which can be outputted by generator of random and pseudorandom values. The authors propose to explore parity and oddity using two methods. The first method is based on Pearson's squared test (chi-squared test). It allows you to find out the presence and admissibility of deviation of the sequence of values obtained empirically, with theoretical (predicted) values. In this case, the level of accuracy is chosen depending on the requirements for the software product as a whole and the generator of random (pseudorandom) values in particular. The second method is based on the long series test (long sequences test), which determines the permissible number of even or odd values that follow each other. In this case, the number of allowed such sequences depends on the number of results obtained during a series of experiments. The proposed approaches are recommended for software products planning and testing which is supposed to be used by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

Team member knowledge and expertise are the aspects typically considered important for software team development formation. However, the authors believe that the formation of teams, as is found in literature, could be based on factors related to the personalities of the members of the development team, and that these factors might affect both the quality of the software product developed and the satisfaction perceived by the development team. In this work they present a controlled experiment, which was carried out during an academic course on Data Bases. The intention of this experiment was to evaluate whether the work team’s level of extraversion influenced, on the one hand, the final quality of the software products obtained and, on the other, the satisfaction perceived while this work was being carried out. The results obtained indicate that when forming work teams, project managers and lecturers should carry out a personality test beforehand in order to balance the amount of extraverted team members with those who are not extraverted. This would permit the team members to feel satisfied with the work carried out by the team without reducing the quality of the software products developed.
