The community of practice (CoP) is based on the interaction among its participants, which encourages them to participate in a permanent dialogue for dissemination and sharing of knowledge. In this context, the research aims to analyze the sharing of organizational culture through the creation and use of a virtual CoP in a private elementary school that used the WhatsApp application. Therefore, the methodology used is a case study, with qualitative-quantitative objectives. Qualitative because it presents an analysis of the individual's participation in the CoP and quantitative because a questionnaire was applied after the involvement of the items in the CoP to verify if there was the sharing of knowledge. The results show that the sharing of information was managed productively through the domain of elements, participation, and commitment on the part of the persons that participated in the CoP.

The equal sign is perhaps the most prevalent symbol in school mathematics, and developing an understanding of it has typically been considered mathematically straightforward. In fact, after its initial introduction during students' early elementary school education, little, if any, instructional time is explicitly spent on the concept in the later grades. Yet research suggests that many students at all grade levels have not developed adequate understandings of the meaning of the equal sign (Baroody and Ginsburg 1983; Behr, Erlwanger, and Nichols 1980; Falkner, Levi, and Carpenter 1999; Kieran 1981; Knuth et al. 2006). Such findings are troubling with respect to students' preparation for algebra, especially given Carpenter, Franke, and Levi's (2003) contention that a “limited conception of what the equal sign means is one of the major stumbling blocks in learning algebra. Virtually all manipulations on equations require understanding that the equal sign represents a relation” (p. 22).

Keyword: Elementary school education, learning activity, English learning activity

This study aims to examine innovative learning methods based on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) to stimulate the formation of mental entrepreneurship for young children so that in the future they become independent entrepreneurs. This study uses several theoretical studies that are used as a basis, namely the theory of out of school education, critical pedagogy, and entrepreneurship. The qualitative approach with the case study method is used by the writer as a research approach. The results showed that the application of STEAM learning methods in early childhood students can stimulate the formation of their entrepreneurial spirit for their future. Keywords: Out-of-School Education; Critical Pedagogy; Entrepreneurship.

Executive function (EF) development is remarkable in early childhood. EF is an ability that provides a foundation for future success; accordingly, supporting children during their early childhood is crucial. So far, there have been many findings on EF in early childhood based on behavioral observation. This exploratory case study examines the measurement of prefrontal cortex activity during the performance of EF tasks using functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS). This study aims to explore the following hypothesis. (1) The prefrontal cortex during early childhood becomes more active as a task becomes more difficult. (2) However, brain activity decreases and stabilizes as time progresses. (3) The evaluation can be easily measured with two-channel fNIRS. Experimental results showed that the preschooler and the child in lower elementary school displayed high levels of brain activity in the order of increasing difficulty in terms of behavioral indicators. Moreover, the preschooler showed higher levels of reaction than the child in lower elementary school. This result is useful and will broaden the perspectives of scholars in the fields of psychology, pedagogy, and neuroscience, those involved in child support.
