Schedule optimization is a proven strategy to improve service quality for public transport networks. However, current research mostly optimizes schedule design using prior knowledge of users’ routings, ignoring the optimization of public transport schedules on duplicating stretches of route vehicles. This article presents a new alignment technique of time intervals between consecutive vehicles of different routes on duplicating stretches, considering existing public transport networks in attaining optimization of public transport schedule. Scheduling technique of route vehicles on duplicating stretches includes some steps: analysis of public transport network and determining a lot of duplicating stretches, calculation of the optimal time intervals among arrivals of route vehicles and alignment of these intervals among consecutive route vehicles on duplicating stretches, realization simulation model of urban passenger transport within the simulation modeling system of GPSS World. Furthermore, testing the optimization technique of route vehicle scheduling, analysis of the quality of adjusted schedule with route vehicles of different kinds included, and determining the optimization efficiency for duplicating stretches. The adjusting technique of urban passenger transport schedule allows to increase movement steadiness of consecutive vehicles of different routes on duplicating stretches, adjust traffic intervals for each route, shorten the traffic load on stations, reducing idle time and queue lengths of route vehicles in front of transport stops and also minimize waiting time for route vehicle by those passengers who can be transported along several routes. Improving the bus schedule on duplicating stretches in Gomel is illustrated demonstrating the technique developed. This scheduling technique can be used by carriers and transport operators to improve the quality of services provided.

The aim is to study the congestion of urban passenger transport in the historical part of Bratislava for the possibility of introducing crowdsourcing technology. The visual methods of examination are used in work. According to the results of the study, data were obtained on the congestion of urban passenger transport and its distribution by hours of the day at the entrances to the historic part of the city. The obtained results indicate the possibility of using crowd shipping technology in off-peak periods. Monitoring of public transport flows in the urban core will identifying the distribution of travellers and contribute to understanding the time window for implementing crowd shipping technology during the day, minimal whit influence on the other participants of the transport process. The peak traffic load is observed on the routes passing through the Slovak National Rebellion (SNP) square in direct downtown of the city, from 8 am to 9 am and from 4-6 pm in the evening, and from 7 am to 8 am in the morning and 5-6 pm for the routes passing through the SNP bridge across the river Danube. A new way to monitoring the number of passengers in public transport was suggested. The paper provides credits for future development sharing technology and sustainable development of transport in Slovakia. The results could be usfull for transport policy and regularities for local government in Bratislava in case of apply new delivery technology.

Passenger transport of the country has a significant impact on the level of its economic development, providing the connection of the population with objects of industrial, social, cultural and household purposes. In Russia, intercity passenger transportation by public transport is mainly represented by bus, rail, aviation (aircraft) and water (domestic). The article analyzes the dynamics of passenger transportation and passenger turnover of public transport for the period from 2015 to 2020, presents a calculation of the number of flights performed by bus, rail, air (aircraft) and water (domestic) transport, identifies the reasons for the lack of development of passenger transportation and suggests solutions. It is established that inland water transport is currently undergoing decline and state intervention is necessary for their development. Also, during the period under review, there is a decrease in the popularity of buses and a preference for private transport to public, it is necessary to improve the quality of transportation. The indicators of air and rail transport have positive dynamics, but they also require growth. The development of air transport in Russia can be carried out by the introduction of new services, for example, air taxi, rail-transport in the field of urban and suburban communications, the construction of new high - speed highways. In 2020, due to the announcement of restrictions on movement and quarantine measures, there is a sharp decline in indicators for all types of transport. The materials can be used to analyze and improve the work of the country's passenger complex.

The relevance of the problem is due to the lack of a method and indicators for assessing the level of transport mobility of cities. The purpose of the article is to develop a method for assessing the level of transport mobility. Currently, there are no science - based criteria for assessing the level of mobility in terms of the convenience of passengers using various types of public transport for travel. The use of the transport mobility index will contribute not only to improving the quality of passenger transport, but also to improving the level of transport services in General. The developed method for assessing the level of transport mobility will allow you to study the dynamics of changes in indicators and plan measures to improve the quality of transport services. The implementation of the proposed method will allow analyzing routes, as well as planning measures to increase the level of transport mobility and the attractiveness of public transport for passenger transportation.

Abstract The significance of the criteria for assessing the quality of the urban passenger transport is investigated in the article. The results of the processing of field studies have identified factors that can be used for the assessment of the quality of the projects of urban passenger transport. The method of estimation of indicators of quality for the passengers during the trip is given and the values of weighting coefficients of individual quality indicators for the elements of the trip are determined. The method of determining the complex quality indicator during the performance of the trips in the projects of public transport is developed. It is shown that the trip components influence the quality of passenger trips in the following order: waiting time at the stop, time of the pedestrian part of the trip, travel time, dynamic coefficient of capacity utilization.

Purpose. The research is aimed at the development of scientific and technological bases for determining the utility of passenger transport services for the population in the conditions of formation of phased quality management. Methodology. The structure of the utility of passenger transport services for the population is determined on the basis of developing a systematic representation of the characteristic impact of the perception of management decisions effectiveness for improving the quality of transport services on mobility. The account of complex system properties of city public passenger transport is realized by construction of interlevel interrelations and establishment of methodical regulations for coordinating the parameters of quality management of public transport service with the indicators of its utility perception. Findings. The presented logical sequence of population mobility formation is based on reproduction of the general conditions of increasing transport service utility due to step-by-step realization of control actions that makes it possible to establish conditions of their expediency and parameterization. A model of marginal utility has been developed to qualitatively assess the technological utility of urban public passenger transport. It is presented in the form of a category that reproduces the relationship between the result of changes in the quality of transport services, consumer utility of transport services and the level of resources used. Originality. The procedure for assessing the consumer utility of urban public passenger transport has been formalized, which, in contrast to the existing ones, is based on the established impact of technological parameters of routes on the formation of population mobility and ensures accounting of transport service quality indicators in determining the technological utility. Practical value. The application of the theory of utility in improving the operation of urban public passenger transport in general contributes to the development of the theory of passenger traffic management and can significantly increase the effectiveness of the choice of rational management measures to improve technological processes and the quality of transport services. The conditions for the formation of a positive impact of consumer utility of urban passenger transport on the mobility of the urban population are established. Based on the selected connection, it is possible to form a system of parameters for assessing the quality of public transport services.

This paper presents a case study using Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method to identify urban public transport users’ needs and requests and to improve service quality in urban public passenger transport in Belgrade. In order to determine users’ satisfaction, a direct interview – survey a sample of 15000 of urban public passenger transport system users, according to the defined questionnaire has been performed. Results of these interviews are used as input in the first stage of QFD method. An overall unit of eight features and a total of 48 sub-features were defined, which describes all aspects of quality of system and services in urban public passenger transport. The results show that for maximizing effects of quality of service improvement and satisfying customers’ requirements, the public transport service providers and managers in Belgrade should focus primarily on the service reliability and vehicle elements. The two most important quality of service sub-features in urban public passenger transport system in Belgrade based on frequency of statements of users was regularity with 4896 (32.64%) and vehicle comfort (not crowded vehicles) with 3446 (22.97%) statements. Based on the service features analysis within the house of quality, it was defined that the biggest influence is generated through system functioning parameters (reliability): frequency with relative importance 22.0%, staff (drivers) with relative importance 14.0% and headway with relative importance 13.0%. Based on absolute importance the greatest importance should be assigned to vehicle frequency – rank 1, staff (drivers) – rank 2 and headway – rank 3.
