Cellular automata (CA) models have been used in urban studies for dealing with land use change. Transport and accessibility are arguably the main drivers of urban change and have a direct influence on land use. Land use and transport interaction models deal with the complexity of this relationship using many different approaches. CA models incorporate these drivers, but usually consider transport (and accessibility) variables as exogenous. Our paper presents a CA model where transport variables are endogenous to the model and are calibrated along with the land use variables to capture the interdependent complexity of these phenomena. The model uses irregular cells and a variable neighborhood to simulate land use change, taking into account the effect of the road network. Calibration is performed through a particle swarm algorithm. We present an application of the model to a comparison of scenarios for the construction of a ring road in the city of Coimbra, Portugal. The results show the ability of the CA model to capture the influence of change of the transport network (and thus in accessibility) in the land use dynamics.

Abstract Highway in Malang there that needs to be analyzed is Intersections Letjend S. Parman Street – Ciliwung Street and Letjend Sutoyo Street – Letjend Selorejo. The road is an arterial road in the city of Malang with a high vehicle density level (Saputra, 2013). The Street was a high traffic flow led to queues or long saturated flow that is not supported by the settings of the light signals in accordance with the conditions in the field so often causes congestion. From finding a solution the traffic density in the study Letjend S Parman Street – Ciliwung Street and Letjend Sutoyo Street – Letjend Selorejo with Indonesia Highway Capasity Manual (IHCM). After stages 3-signal coordination calculation in Ciliwung Intersection of Malang, Intersection obtained time peak hours at the intersection area occurred at 11.00 – 12.00 GMT. Performance 3-waay junction on the Ciliwung Malang at this time has not met the target. Seen from there is still a Degree of Saturation (DS) which do not meet the targets ( ≤ 0,75), namely 0,83. After having don e engineering into 3 phases and cycle time 100 minutes Degree of Saturation (DS) be 0,77. Keywords: intersection, peak hours, capacity and degree saturation

There are many cities on the west coast of the Sumatra, which are at high risk of the Tsunami disaster. Regional Regulations on Regional Spatial Planning for each City/ Regency have compiled disaster mitigation by constructing several evacuation roads. This study wants to illustrate: what are the volume of traffic generation and road performance, if there is a Tsunami disaster. The simulation is developed by predicting traffic volume based on parameters, population density, vehicle ownership, land use, and activities in the area around the road. The assessment was carried out on two tsunami evacuation roads in the city of Padang, West Sumatra Province. The results show that the highest traffic volume occurred in the period from 06.30 a.m until 3:00 p.m., during school activities. One of the roads will not be able to accommodate the volume of traffic during a disaster, due to significant traffic congestion. This study shows that: (1) the period of activity and land use are two main parameters, which must be considered in designing tsunami evacuation roads, (2) The degree of saturation ratio and the ratio between the capacity of sections of Tsunami evacuation routes can be proposed as a parameter for assessing the performance of Tsunami evacuation roads in urban areas.

Abstract Traffic congestion in the City of Surakarta gave rise to a phenomenal figure among motor vehicle drivers, called the Traffic Control Volunteers or abbreviated as Supeltas. This Supeltas is present on the road to help organize the movement of traffic, as happened at the Surakarta Ganesha Unsignalized Intersection. This study aims to determine the influence of the existence of Supeltas on capacity, degree of saturation, delay, and queuing opportunities that occur at the intersection. The analysis was carried out using the 1997 Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual. The results showed that the intersection without Supeltas had a capacity of 3,114.03 pcu/hour and a degree of saturation of 1.47, while the same intersection but with Supeltas had a capacity of 3,136.81 pcu/hour and a degree of saturation of 1.51. These results indicate that Supeltas has a positive influence on the performance of the intersection. Nevertheless, the degree of saturation in the location increased due to the increase in traffic volume as well as increased capacity. Keywords: unsignalized intersection, intersection performance, intersection capacity, degree of saturation  Abstrak Kemacetan lalu lintas di Kota Surakarta memunculkan sosok fenomenal di kalangan pengendara kendaraan bermotor, yang disebut Sukarelawan Pengatur Lalu Lintas atau disingkat Supeltas. Kata-kata kunci: simpang tak bersinyal, kinerja simpang, kapasitas simpang, derajat kejenuhan

This paper investigates the changes of buildings to what extent the regulations related to plot ratio are implemented in the city of George Town, Penang, give impact on land use distribution. This study used a quantitative method by conducting field observations to identify building heights in the city of George Town, which was divided into two segments of the road. Then, GIS software was also used as one of the instruments to map the compliance analysis on study area in the city for the development control tool. The results show that quantitatively, the buildings along Jalan Dato Keramat that have been monopolised by residential activities acquire a higher building height and the maximum of plot ratio caps. There is only a small portion in Jalan Gurdwara that complies with the plot ratio limit. However, the characteristics of the area were determined by several parameters, such as building height, zoning land use activities, and building conformity. Thus, more detailed regulations regarding the changes in shape and plot ratio cap according to zoning activities on the exact location and activities are highly required.

The area in Surabaya and Mojokerto is an industrial area that is increasing quite rapidly. Based on City Mojokerto in Figures Year 2016. From an industrial estate is a change of land use from agriculture or ponds into settlements and / or industries. The occurrence of congestion along this road because of the capacity that is not sufficient to accommodate the number of vehicles passing. The purpose of this research is to know the model of land use interaction, knowing the network performance and know the travel time to be passed. And analyze what components affect the calculation of travel time. Necessary data. The existing land layout along the road and the average traffic calculation data on the road in the study area. To know the travel time must be known in advance the capacity of the road that can be accommodated along the road. After the capacity is known the service performance becomes the main factor in determining road network performance. This research uses regression analysis for land use modeling.

Abstract The city of Lagos, Nigeria has undergone rapid increase in population due to economic and commercial activities. As a result of this, there has been a persistent change in Land use/Land cover (LULC) of the city and shoreline through the years. This observation necessitated the use of multi-temporal satellite data to characterize shoreline changes between 1984 and 2016. Therefore, the study attempts to determine the shoreline change during the study period and the coastal land use and land cover (LULC) of the study area. Satellite data was acquired andsubjected to some image processing techniques such as image enhancement, supervised classification, and shoreline extraction. The digital shoreline analysis system (DSAS) in ArcGIS environment was utilized to cast transects and calculate statistical parameters for the shoreline and spatial data used was Landsat TM, ETM and OLI for the years 1984, 1990, 2000, 2004 and 2016 respectively. The results indicate that LULC changes in builtup areas increases rapidly during the years (1984-2015) from 12.2 -36.2%, water bodies increased from (1984- 1990-2000) from 52%, 54%, 52% and reduces to 47.4% in the year 2015 while vegetation cover reduces drastically through the year range from 36%, 33%, 29%, 24% and 16%. A total of 1034 transects were generated with 100m spacing and the average rate of change was calculated for the 32 year period (1984-2016). The linear regression rate (LRR) shoreline result shows a mean of -0.59m/year where 73.1% of transect fall under erosion and 61.8% accretion respectively. The end point rate (EPR) and net shoreline movement (NSM) analysis revealed mean shoreline change of -0.57m/year and -18.1m/period respectively from 1984-2016. The EPR and NSM results both revealed that 231 transect or 22.3% experienced erosion, and 805 transect or 77.9% with accretion. It was observed that significant accretion rate recorded along most sections of the shorelines is attributed to beach nourishment activities.

[EN] The development of the city followed by the increasing number of residents in the city of Pekanbaru causing the conversion of land into residential areas or offices. The change of land function from green area to residential area or offices resulted in disturbance of soil absorption so that runoff becomes bigger. The purpose of this research is to know the ability of drainage channel Arifin Ahmad Road in accommodating flow discharge with the effect of land use change in 10 years that will come and know the cause of the water flooding on one of Arifin Ahmad Road segment right on the road between Jalan Rambutan with Jalan Pope Edge. In this research is calculated the frequency of rainfall using the type of Log-Pearson III distribution test. Rainfall intensity is calculated using rational methods. The plan debit (Qr) is based on the amount of rainfall (Qh), gross discharge (Qk) and debit of mail (QKiriman). Land use change refers to RTRW kotabaru, drainage channel capacity is calculated using the manning equation, and then analyzed whether the channel is still able to accommodate the discharge of the next 10 years plan with changes in existing land use. From the results of the next 10 years plan debit analysis is 2.74 m3 / second with the channel discharge (Qs) of 0.97 m3 / sec for the ground channel and 2.34 m3 / sec for the permanent channel, it can be concluded that the drainage existing channel Arifin Ahmad Road on the segment between Jalan Rambutan and Jalan Puas Pekanbaru is not safe. The dimensions of the drainage channel of the plan for the next 10 years are the bottom width of the channel (B) = 3.5 m, the water level (h) = 1.75 m, the water velocity (w) = 0.25 m, and the channel height (H ) = 2 m. The factors causing water puddle on one of Arifin Ahmad Road segment precisely on the road between Rambutan Street and Ujung Pope Road is not the flow of water from the road to the drainage channel due to the lack of functioning of the water line as a place of rain water flow from the road to the drainage channel , the amount of garbage and mud that causes blockage of water flow in the drainage channel. The main factor is the flow of the flow plan is greater than the existing channel discharge, where the flow of the flow plan (Qr) = 2.32 m3 / sec, the discharge of the exisiting ground channel (Qs) = 0.97 m3 / sec, and the permanent channel discharge Existing (Qs) = 2.34 m3 / sec.

ABSTRACTIntersection is a part of the road that becomes the center concourse of various traffic flow movements. In the type of unsignalized intersection, there are often traffic flow conflict points which cause traffic jams, especially during rush hour. Examples of cases are in the City of Bandung, occurred at the intersection of A.H. Nasution Street and Cikadut Street. This location was chosen because in addition to congestion caused by irregular traffic flow conflict points during rush hour, around the road at the intersection this is also a shopping area, residential, school and gas station. Based on these problems, data calculations and analysis are carried out in the initial intersection condition, obtained saturated degree (DS) values of 0,983 in the morning and 0,937 in the afternoon. Because the results of the intersection calculation in the initial conditions did not comply the requirements of the Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual of 1997 (IHCM 1997), that’s DS < 0,85, it is necessary to recalculate with some alternative that value of DS can comply. Keywords: intersection, congestion, degree of saturation, IHCM 1997.
