When fed to animals with high portion of roughage can affect methane production highly, an adding reduction methane agent for it is needed, like ketepeng leave meal (KLM) and lemuru fish oil (LFO). Supplementation with LLM significantly increased dry matter and crude fiber intake (p&lt;0.05). This fact showed that LLM supplementation optimized rumen fermentation by microbes. Comparison<br />between LLM-KLM and LLM-LFO to basal diet clearly showed that basal diet is the lowest (p&lt;0.01) performance (0.19 vs 0.21; 0.23kg/h/d), however, the animal fed basal diet degraded crude fiber was significant (p&lt;0.05) higher (74.49 vs 69.02; 65.17%). It is apparent from this experiment that supllementation with lamtoro leave meal by adding both ketepeng leave meal and lemuru fish oil as a reduction methane agent are palatable, fermentable and reasonably digestible.  The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of the inclusion of sunflower cake replacing soybean meal in beef cattle diets on the in vitro digestibility of dry matter (IVDDM), organic matter (IVDOM), crude protein (IVDCP) and the ruminal fermentation kinetics and parameters. The experiment was analyzed according to a completely randomized design. The treatments consisted of four levels of sunflower cake, 0, 200, 400, 600 g kg-1, replacing soybean meal in the concentrate of beef cattle diets. The coefficients of IVDDM, IVDOM and IVDCP presented a quadratic effect with the addition of sunflower cake. The soluble fraction (fraction B) degradation rate and total gas production decreased linearly with the inclusion of sunflower cake. Values of pH in ruminal fluid were higher for levels 0, 200 and 600 g kg-1 sunflower cake. Sunflower cake can replace soybean meal by up to 280 g kg-1 in the concentrate of beef cattle diets, improving the in vitro digestibility of dry matter organic, matter and crude protein. Levels above 400 g kg-1 reduce ruminal digestion rate, digestibility and release of final fermentation products.

Abstract Two experiments were conducted to investigate the effects of phytase source and feed pelleting on digestibility of dry matter (DM), crude protein, organic matter (OM), and phosphorus (P) with different doses of phytase in pigs. In Exp. 1, ten barrows (31.4 ± 3.5 kg of BW) were individually housed in metabolic crates and allotted to a replicated 5 × 6 Latin square design with 5 diets and 6 periods. In Exp. 2, ten barrows (28.2 ± 3.2 kg of BW) were individually housed in metabolic crates and allotted to a replicated 5 × 5 Latin square design with 5 diets and 5 periods. Each period lasted 10 d consisted of a 5-d adaptation and a 5-d collection periods and the marker to marker method was used for fecal collection. In both experiments, a basal diet was prepared based on corn and soybean meal without phytase or inorganic P. Four additional diets were prepared in a 2 × 2 factorial treatment arrangement with 2 phytase sources (Buttiauxella spp. or Escherichia coli) and 2 feed forms (mash or pellet). Both experiments employed the same treatments but had different supplemental phytase doses (500 and 1,500 FTU/kg in Exp. 1 and 2, respectively). In Exp. 1, supplemental phytase increased standardized total tract digestibility of P (66.1 vs. 51.7%; P &lt; 0.001) with no effects of phytase source or feed pelleting. Feed pelleting increased digestibility of DM, crude protein, and OM (P &lt; 0.001). In Exp. 2, supplemental phytase increased standardized total tract digestibility of P (72.8 vs. 44.8%; P &lt; 0.001) with no effects of phytase source or feed pelleting. Feed pelleting increased digestibility of DM and OM (P &lt; 0.001). Taken together, supplemental phytase at 500 and 1,500 FTU/kg increases P digestibility regardless of phytase source or feed pelleting.

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh lama perendaman biji jagung pada larutan urin kelinci terhadap produktivitas fodder jagung(zea mays) dengan sistem hidroponik.Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah percobaan lapang dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan.Perlakuan penelitian yaitu P0 (tanpa perendaman), P1 perendaman pada air 24 jam, perendaman pada larutan urin P2 (8 jam), P3 (16 jam), dan P4 (24 jam). Variabel yang diamati dalam penelitian ini lama perendaman biji jagung yang berbeda dan larutan urin kelinci, variabel tersebut berkaitan dengan persentase perkecambahan, persentase kecambah normal, produksi segar, produksi bahan kering, produksi bahan organik, produksi protein kasar, produksi serat kasar. Analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis sidik ragam (ANOVA). Hasil menunjuk kan bahwa perlakuan perendaman biji jagung dalam larutan urin kelinci memberi pengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap Persentase kecambah normal produksi hijauan segar, produksi bahan kering, produksi bahan organik,produksi serat kasar , produksi protein kasar, sedangkan pada hasil pengamatan pada persentase kecambah memberi pengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05), persentase kecambah normal tertinggi pada perlakuan P2 (99,3%) dan P1 (98,1%), produksi segar tertinggi pada P2 (384,2 gram)  produksi bahan kering tertinggi pada P2 (113,92  gram), produksi protein kasar tertinggi pada P2  (61,2 gram)  produksi bahan organik P2 (36,0 gram) dan produksi serat kasar P2 (55,58 gram). Kesimpulan dari hasil penelitian ini bahwa perlakuan perendaman biji jagung selama 8 jam dengan larutan urin kelinci dapat membrikan pengaruh yang lebih baik terhadap produktivitas fodder jagung dengan sistem hidroponik.   Abstract            This study aimed to determine the effect of soaking time of corn kernels on rabbit urine solution on the productivity of corn fodder (zea mays) with hydroponic systems. The research method used was a field experiment using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 5 replications. Maintenance treatment is P0 (without immersion), P1 (immersion on water 24 hours), immersion on urine solution P2 (8 hours), P3 (16 hours), P4 (24 hours). Variables observed in this study were different lengths of corn seed immersion and rabbit urine solution, these variables were related to germination percentage, percentage of normal sprouts, fresh production, dry matter production, organic matter production, crude protein production, crude fiber production. The analysis used was variance analysis (ANOVA). These results indicate that the treatment of soaking corn kernels in the urine solution of rabbits had a very significant effect (P <0.01). ) to the percentage of normal germination of fresh forage production, dry matter production, production of organic matter, crude fiber production, crude protein production, while the results of observations on the percentage of sprouts had no significant effect (P> 0.05) P2 (99.3%) and P1 (98.1%), highest fresh production in P2 (384.2 grams) highest dry matter production in P2 (113.92 grams), highest crude protein production in P2 (61.2 gram) production of organic matter P2 (36.0 grams) and production of crude fiber P2 (55.58 grams). The conclusions from the results of this study that the treatment of corn seed immersion for 8 hours with rabbit urine solution can provide a better influence on the productivity of corn fodder with a hydroponic system.

Feedblocks, poultry manure diet, gliricidia: leucaena mixture (1:1 W/W) and maize offal diet were compared as sources of protein supplements for WAD sheep fed a basal diet of elephant grass hay (Pennisetum purpureum), through a 12-week performance and digestibility study. Dry matter and organic matter intakes (DMI, OMI) of the sheep were higher (P0.05) on the gliricidia: leucaena supplement than on the other diets. DMI on poultry manure and maize offal diets were not significant (P0.05). Organic matter intake (OMI) of the animals followed the same trend as DMI. Sheep fed legume supplements excelled in intakes of crude protein (CP), acid detergent fibre (ADF) and digestibilities of dry matter (DM), organic matter (OM) and neutral detergent fibre (NDF) (P>0.05). Intakes of CP and ADF by sheep on the other supplements were not significantly different (P>0.05). Sheep fed on feedblock supplement consumed the least amount. (P0.05) of NDF. Variations were observed in DM,OM, and NDF digestibilities by sheep on maize offal, poultry manure and legumes supplements. Crude protein digestibility in the legumes and feedblocks supplements was higher (P0.05) than with the other two supplements. All the sheep used gained weights but those on maize offa' diet recorded higher (P0.05). weight gain (86.57g) than those on browse leaves (59.40g), feedblocks (47.80g) and poultry manure (40.44g). Rumen pH was lower (P<0.05) on the gliricidia: leucaena supplement than on other diets. Total VFA recorded for sheep on maize offal diet and legumes supplements was higher (P<0.05) than for the other two supplements. Blood urea nitrogen of the supplements were not significantly different (P>0.05)

Novelty statement: This study reveals that fermented agricultural and plantation waste by using different doses of eco enzyme turned out to have a good effect on the quality of the waste. The procedures and parameters standardised in this research can be used for production of ruminant feed.                Abstract: The low nutrient content of agricultural waste is an obstacle to use as feed. The addition of eco enzyme as biological activators can help the fermentation process. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of three doses of eco enzyme as a starter fermentation of rice straw, corn straw, and palm fronds on changes in the nutritional content of 21 days fermentation. This study used a completely randomized design method with two factorial (three treatments and three replications). Factor D: Doses (D1 = 1%; D2 = 3%; D3 = 5%) and factor L: Forage (L1 = rice straw; L2 = corn straw; L3 = oil palm fronds). The parameters studied were moisture content (MC), dry matter (DM), crude protein (CP), crude fiber (CF). The results of this research showed that addition of eco enzyme dose of 5% on L1, 3% on L2 and 3% L3 can increased water content and crude protein, and reduce levels of dry matter and crude fiber of forage compared without fermentation.

The Dry matter (DM), Organic matter (OM), Crude protein (CP), Acid detergent fibre (ADF), Neutral detergent fibre (NDF), lignin, Ca and P contents of Pajam, Nijershail, Kablabadam, BR 11, BINA 5 and BRRI 29 varieties of rice straw varied from 92.21 to 93.05%, 81.21 to 86.24%, 3.49 to 5.10%, 41.38 to 46.32%, 72.16 to 77.57%, 4.3 to 6.97%, 0.10 to 0.245% and 0.046 to 0.146%, respectively. The OM content in Nijershail was significantly higher (P<0.01) than Kablabadam, BR 11, BRRI 29, Pajam and BINA 5, respectively. The variety BRRI 29 contained significantly higher (P<0.01) CP content (5.1%) than BINA 5, BR 11, Pajam, Nijershail and Kablabadam, respectively. Significantly (P<0.01) higher NDF content was found in BR 11 (77.57%) followed by Kablabadam, Nijershail, Pajam, BRRI 29 and BINA 5, respectively. Acid deter gut Fibre (ADF) content was significantly (P<0.05) higher in Nijershail (46.32%) than Kablabadam, BR 11, BINA 5, Pajam and BRRI 29, respectively. Significantly (P<0.01) higher lignin content was found in BRRI 29 (6.97%) compared to Kablabadam, BINA 5, Pajam, Nijershail and BR 11, respectively. The Ca content in Pajam and BR 11 was significantly (P<0.01) higher (0.245%) than Nijershail, BRRI 29, Kablabadam and BINA 5, respectively. BRRI 29 contained significantly (P<0.01) higher P content (0.146%) compared to BINA 5, Pajam, Nijershail, Kablabadam and BR 11, respectively. Organic Matter (OM) digestibility, and ME content in BRRI 29 was significantly (P<0.01) higher followed Nijershail, BINA 5, Pajam, Kablabadam and BR 11, respectively. Straw of BRRI 29 is expected to provide more nutrients, digestible organic nutrients and metabolizable energy to ruminants. This experiment investigated various substrate growth of bamboo stems microbes (BSM) in rice straw fermentation and its effect on dry matter digestibility (DMD), organic matter digestibility (OMD), NH3-N and VFA concentration. Materials were rumen fluid of beef cattle from the slaughterhouse. Basal diets consisted of rice straw and concentrate with ratio of 40 : 60 (% dry matter) were administered to five treatments namely P0 = untreated rice straw (control), P1 = Ammoniated rice straw,  fermented rice straw using microbial bamboo stems grown on ammoniated rice straw (P2), rice bran (P3) and cassava waste (P4). The experiment used in vitro method was designed with Completely Randomized Design and the data were analyzed variance. The results showed that the treatment had no significant effect on dry matter digestibility (DMD), organic matter digestibility (OMD), NH3-N and VFA concentration (P>0,05). The fermentation process of microbial bamboo stems in rice straw with a level of 10% with different substrate did not able to  increase the digestibility and products fermentation, but there tends that the rice bran and substrates can increase DMD and N-NH3 concentration
