Problem based learning is learning model suitable for 21st Century’s educational purpose. Concepts of learning material can be built using concept mapping. The objective of this research is to analyse the effectiveness of problem based learning model aided with concept mapping on the analysis of Senior High School students' ability (differentiating, organizing, and attributing aspect) in learning material of Immune System. The subject of this research is eleven grade students of SMA Negeri 12 Semarang and SMA Kesatrian 1 Semarang, each of these senior high schools provided two experimental classes. The design of this research is pre-experimental, with one group pretest-posttest design. The method of gathering data was used in this research is test and observation. Instruments that were analyzed in this research are multiple choice, students discussion’s worksheet, product of learning outcomes, and learning implementation. The snalysis ability of students from SMA Negeri 12 Semarang showed average of 80% with classical content mastering for XI-MIPA 4 and XI-MIPA 5 are 84,2% and  76,4% respectively. Average of N-gain is 0,4706 which categorized in medium criteria. The analysis ability of students from SMA Kesatrian 1 Semarang showed average of 73% with classical content mastering for XI-MIPA 1 and XI-MIPA 2 are 76,4% and  81% respectively. Average of N-gain is 0,4426 which categorized in medium criteria. Based on the research result can be drawn a conclusion that implementation of problem based learning aided with concept mapping is effective for increasing students’ analysis ability in SMA Negeri 12 Semarang and SMA Kesatrian 1 Semarang.

This study was conducted in an attempt to investigate the effectiveness of an educational card game we developed for learning human immunology. Two semesters of evaluation were included to examine the impact of the game on students’ understanding and perceptions of the game-based instruction. Ninety-nine senior high school students (11th graders) were recruited for the first evaluation, and the second-semester group consisted of 72 students (also 11th graders). The results obtained indicate that students did learn from the educational card game. Moreover, students who learned from playing the game significantly outperformed their counterparts in terms of their understanding of the processes and connections among different lines of immunological defense (first semester: t = 2.92, p < 0.01; second semester: t = 3.45, p < 0.01) according to the qualitative analysis of an open-ended question. They generally had positive perceptions toward the game-based instruction and its learning efficiency, and they felt the game-based instruction was much more interesting than traditional didactic lectures (first semester: t = 2.79, p < 0.01; second semester: t = 2.41, p < 0.05). This finding is evidence that the educational card game has potential to facilitate students’ learning of how the immune system works. The implications and suggestions for future work are further discussed.

Activity of students is very important and need to be considered by the teacher to get the optimal results, especially in chemistry subjects.Chemistry subjects are difficult for students because they are abstract and complicated, such as colloids material. So that, additional information is needed to make the abstract material into concrete and complex become more obvious. Proper use of media is a way to increase students' understanding of colloids. In order to students quickly understand the concept of colloids and activities of students to be better, therefore a teacher is required to choose and make a learning media. This study was aimed to describe learning activities of students using innovative developed pop-up book on colloids. The development method used was research and development (R & D) through ADDIE model. Subjects in this study were thirty one of senior high school students from grade XI, SMAN 4 Banda Aceh which were taken by purposive sampling. Data of students’ activities were collected using observation sheet. Besides that, the eligibility of developed pop-up book was measured using questionnaire which was filled by expert validators. Results showed that the eligibility of pop-up book was found to be 73.50 percent belong to the category of decent. In addition, the learning activities were found to be increased from 76.21 to 86.25 percent from first meeting to second meeting, respectively. It concluded that the learning activities of students using developed innovative pop-up book on colloids material were very good.
