Given the importance to the role of reading about the development of science then there should be efforts to improve students’ reading ability by using the presence of English comics as a medium is expected to make a positive contribution for students through its nature that makes readers are happy. The child’s interest in the story tells a significant emphasis about the need through the use of comic media for learning. This classroom action research aims to improve students’ reading comprehension at VIII C in MTs Subulussalam Kayuagung through English comic media. This research is a Classroom Action Research which is carried out by following John Elliot's model research procedure which includes planning, action, observation, reflection or evaluation. The research was conducted at MTs Subulussalam Kayuagung from the 2017-2018 which was odd semester of 26 students. The research shows that before being given instruction using english comic media the average score of reading student’s understanding is 62,70 (57,70%) with medium category. After reading comprehension learning using english comic media first cycle the average score of students’ comprehension ability increased to 70 (69.23%) still in medium category and done learning on second cycle of reading comprehension ability of student experience increase of average value and percentage equal to 81,54 (88,46%) with very high category.   References Arikunto, S. This study aims to improve the ability to read English comprehension of class VIII A students at SMPN 3 Teluk Kuantanthrough English-language comic media. This research is a classroom action research conducted by following John Elliot'smodel research procedure which includes planning, action, observation, reflection or evaluation. The study was conducted atSMPN 3 Teluk Kuantan in 2018-2019 academic year in odd semester for students of class VIII A, totaling 21 students. Theresults showed that before being given learning using English-language comic media, the average score of students' readingcomprehension was 57.38 (28.57 %) with less criteria. After reading comprehension learning using English language comicmedia the first cycle the average score of students' reading comprehension ability increased to 64.76 (57.14 %) whichincluded in the criteria sufficient, and learning is done in the second cycle students' reading comprehension ability has anincrease in the average value and a percentage of 75.23 (80.95 %) with good criteria.

This research aimed to improve students' reading ability using the PAQRS strategy. This research applied a classroom action research (CAR) design conducted in two cycles consisting of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. Each cycle consists of four meetings. The researcher conducted tests, interviews, and observations in collecting the data. The data is presented quantitatively as the primary and supporting data. The study's findings showed that 18.91% of students achieved the minimum completeness criteria, and the average score was 67.35 in the first cycle test. While 81.08% of students achieved the minimum completeness criteria, the average score was 76.72 in the second cycle test. The result of the research indicated that students' achievement is an increase from cycle 1 to cycle 2. This study concludes that the PAQRS strategy can successfully improve students' reading skills.

The focus of this teaching and learning activity is to improve students' reading comprehension through English short stories in eleventh grade students of SMAS NU Centini Laren Lamongan. Utilizing the existence of English short stories as a medium is expected to make a positive contribution to students through their characteristics that make readers feel happy. This research is a Classroom Action Research which is carried out by following John Elliot's model research procedures which include planning, action, observation, reflection or evaluation. The research was carried out in the eleventh class of SMAS NU Centini Laren Lamongan for the academic year 2019-2020 even semester totaling 50 students. The results showed that before being given learning using short story books in English, the average value of reading comprehension was 56 (8%) in the very low category. After learning reading comprehension was carried out using English short story book media in the first cycle the average value of students 'reading comprehension increased to 67 (38%), still in the moderate category, and learning was carried out in the second cycle the students' reading comprehension ability increased the average score. and a percentage of 77 (86%) with a very high category. By using this method, there was a fairly good increase for the students of SMAS NU Centini Laren Lamongan. In addition, other results obtained were students easier to absorb and understand English learning material and this activity was also the starting point for other activities. Keywords:  Reading Comprehension, Short Story, CAR

In general, students' difficulties in understanding of reading is in expressing the meaning and purpose of the reading. The researcher found these problem while conducting research at one of the Islamic Schools in class VIII  at SMP PLUS YPP DARUSSURUR CIMAHI. This study aims to improve the reading ability of students through English-language storybook media. This research used Classroom Action Research design which includes planning, action, observation, reflection or evaluation activities. The study was conducted SMP PLUS YPP DARUSSURUR CIMAHI. The sample of the research is class VIII C that contain of 26 students. The results showed that before treatment was given using the English-language storybook media, after reading comprehension learning using English-language book story at the first cycle the average value of reading comprehension skills of students increased  still in the medium category In cycle 1, the researcher discover that 70% or 18 out of 26 students got the score under KKM, and learning was done on the second cycle was found that 86.20% of the students or 25 out of 26 students got the score more than or equal to 70 related to the Minimum Mastery Criteria of reading comprehension ability of students experienced an increase in average value with a very high category. Keywords:   Reading, Media Story Books, CAR

Abstract This research was aimed to overcome the low of students’ communication skills in the learning process which applied Jigsaw cooperative learning model in the class five of Tingkir Lor 02 Elementary School Tingkir sub-district Salatiga city. This classroom action research used spiral model which referred to Kemis and Mc. Tagart’ research design. This research procedure was done by implementing Jigsaw cooperative learning model which was planned by started from design arrangement, action, observation, and reflection which is then followed by the next spiral cycle. This classroom action research applied two cycles pattern. The conclusion of this research is the implementation of Jigsaw cooperative learning can improve students’ communication skills. It can be seen from the increase of communication skills average score percentage from cycle I and cycle II that is 11,78% with average score in cycle I is 75,5 increased into cycle II that is 84,4. Keywords: Communication Skills,  Jigsaw Model   Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengatasi rendahnya keterampilan berkomunikasi peserta didik dalam pembelajaran dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif  Jigsaw di kelas V di SD Negeri Tingkir Lor 02 Kecamatan Tingkir Kota Salatiga. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini menggunakan model spiral yang mengacu desain penelitian Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart. Prosedur penelitian ini dilaksankan dengan melaksanakan pembelajaran menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif Jigsaw yang dierencanakan dengan dimulai dari penyususnan rancangan, pelaksanaan tindakan, pengamatan (observasi), dan refleksi yang kemudian diikuti dengan siklus spiral berikutnya. Penelitian tindakan  kelas ini menerapkan pola dua siklus. Kesimpulan penelitian ini yaitu penerapan model pembelajaran Kooperatif Jigsaw dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berkomunikasi peserta didik. Hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari kenaikan presentase skor rata-rata untuk ketererampilan berkomunikasi dari siklus I ke siklus II yaitu sebesar 11,78%, dengan skor rata-rata pada siklus I yaitu 75,5 naik di siklus II  menjadi 84,4. This research aimed to explain the extent to which cognitive strategy can improve the students’ reading comprehension and what factors that influence the changes of the students’ reading ability by implementing cognitive strategy. This research was a classroom action research which consists of two cycles and four meetings of each cycle. Three meetings for teaching reading comprehension of descriptive text by using cognitive strategy and another meeting for reading comprehension of descriptive text test. The research was conducted from April, 30 2013 up to May, 30 2013. The instrument used to collect the data were reading comprehension of descriptive text test, observation sheets, field notes, and interview which were helped by a collaborator. The finding revealed that the implementation of cognitive strategy could better improve students’ reading comprehension of descriptive text at grade VII-2 of SMPN 1 Indra Praja Tembilahan. The improvement was confirmed by the increasing average students’ score, the average score of students in cycle I was 70,72 and in cycle II was 78,10. The factors that influence the students’ reading comprehension during the application of cognitive strategy were the materials, the students’ reading  motivation, and the teacher’s role to students. Finally, the classroom action research by using cognitive strategy could improve the students’ reading comprehension of descriptive text at grade VII-2 SMPN 1 Indra Praja Tembilahan.

The research was designed in the form of classroom action research which was carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Research data were collected through observation and tests at the end of each cycle. Based on the results of the research and discussion of classroom action research, it is shown that through the medium of word cards students' initial reading ability can be increased. This can be seen through the first cycle of completeness, it is known that 11 students who are declared complete with a percentage of 68.75% and students who do not complete as many as 5 people with a percentage of 31.25%; with an average score of 69.5. The percentage of completeness and the average value in the first cycle have not reached the indicators of research success so that it needs to be continued in the second cycle. The results of the second cycle showed students who completed 14 students with a classical completeness percentage of 87.5% with an average value of 90.5. In addition, student activity during the learning process also increased from 70% in the first cycle to 85% in the second cycle. From the results obtained, the researcher concluded that word card media could improve the early reading ability of 1st graders at SDN 01 Sengare.

<p><em>The research has problem less reading comprehension ability explanation text in class IV. This research aims to increase reading comprehension ability using SQ3R in text explanation at IV class SDN Nantang. The researcher uses classroom action research. The result shows the use of SQ3R can increase reading comprehension ability in text explanation. Pre-test shows average scores are 45,83 with 27% complete and 73% incomplete. Cycle I with average scores are 75,67% with 60% complete and 40% incomplete and cycle II average scores 87,83 with 90% complete and 10% incomplete. The result of average is 42.  Reading comprehension ability is 53%. Based on the increase in pre-test until cycle I and cycle II, the conclusion is SQ3R can increase reading comprehension ability in text explanation at IV class SDN Nantang sub-district Cigalontang regency Tasikmalaya period 2020/2021</em></p>

To learn something well, we need to hear, see, ask questions about it, and discuss it with others. Not only that, teachers need to "do it", that is to describe something in their own way, to show their example, to try to practice their skills and to do tasks that demand the knowledge they have gained. Problems to be studied in this research are: a. How to improve learning result of Indonesian language especially about writing short story? b. Steps taken in improving learning outcomes Indonesian language ?.  The approach of this research uses a qualitative approach with classroom action research design, which is carried out cyclically. Cycle I with planning, action, observation, and reflection. Likewise the next cycles. In PTK as well as teachers can examine their own activities on their own done in its own class. By involving their students through planned, implemented and evaluated actions, TOD can be performed without interrupting other learning and will not burden the work of the teacher in performing daily tasks. PTK can be done in an integrated manner with daily activities. Precisely with PTK teachers can improve the quality of learning processes and products. The study considers the results or impact of classroom action research from various criteria based on reflections for revision. Reflection is a re-application of the lessons learned. The reflections are evaluations that have been made and suggestions for future learning.    Based on the description of researchers draw conclusions as follows: The ability of students to write short stories in class IV before using the method of writing (writing together) is categorized enough with the average value: 6.90 (unfinished). There is an increase in the ability to write short stories with the method of writing writing (writing together) grade IV students are categorized both with an average value of 7.69 (complete). This capability increases in cycle II and cycle III reaches an average value of 8.46 (complete). Matched material for writing short story experiences for students SDN 07 Pasar Salido is a material that suits the conditions, desires, experiences, and the ability to write short stories.

This research was designed to improve the students` reading comprehension through Think Talk Write at the first-grade students of SMKN 1 Lasusua. The research problem was “The reading comprehension of the first- grade students of SMKN 1 Lasusua is low”. The design of this research was collaborative Classroom Action Research (CAR).In this research, there were two cycles. The first cycle was not success because the result of the students’ test did not fulfill the KKM, so there was the next cycle. The second cycle was success because the result of the student test achieved the KKM mandatory by the school. In addition, this research must get score of 70 to fulfill the Minimum Mastery Criterion – Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM). It could be seen in the average score, it was 68.6 in the first cycle, and there were only 17 students from 35 students got greater score than or equal 70. This score increased to be 74.77 in the second cycle, there were 26 from 35 students got score greater than or equal 70. It means that this research was successful. Based on the findings, the conclusion is Think Talk Write strategy could improve the students` comprehension in reading at the first-grade students of SMKN 1 Lasusua.
