This study aims to improve the ability to read English comprehension of class VIII A students at SMPN 3 Teluk Kuantanthrough English-language comic media. This research is a classroom action research conducted by following John Elliot'smodel research procedure which includes planning, action, observation, reflection or evaluation. The study was conducted atSMPN 3 Teluk Kuantan in 2018-2019 academic year in odd semester for students of class VIII A, totaling 21 students. Theresults showed that before being given learning using English-language comic media, the average score of students' readingcomprehension was 57.38 (28.57 %) with less criteria. After reading comprehension learning using English language comicmedia the first cycle the average score of students' reading comprehension ability increased to 64.76 (57.14 %) whichincluded in the criteria sufficient, and learning is done in the second cycle students' reading comprehension ability has anincrease in the average value and a percentage of 75.23 (80.95 %) with good criteria.

In general, students' difficulties in understanding of reading is in expressing the meaning and purpose of the reading. The researcher found these problem while conducting research at one of the Islamic Schools in class VIII  at SMP PLUS YPP DARUSSURUR CIMAHI. This study aims to improve the reading ability of students through English-language storybook media. This research used Classroom Action Research design which includes planning, action, observation, reflection or evaluation activities. The study was conducted SMP PLUS YPP DARUSSURUR CIMAHI. The sample of the research is class VIII C that contain of 26 students. The results showed that before treatment was given using the English-language storybook media, after reading comprehension learning using English-language book story at the first cycle the average value of reading comprehension skills of students increased  still in the medium category In cycle 1, the researcher discover that 70% or 18 out of 26 students got the score under KKM, and learning was done on the second cycle was found that 86.20% of the students or 25 out of 26 students got the score more than or equal to 70 related to the Minimum Mastery Criteria of reading comprehension ability of students experienced an increase in average value with a very high category. Keywords:   Reading, Media Story Books, CAR

Given the importance to the role of reading about the development of science then there should be efforts to improve students’ reading ability by using the presence of English comics as a medium is expected to make a positive contribution for students through its nature that makes readers are happy. The child’s interest in the story tells a significant emphasis about the need through the use of comic media for learning. This classroom action research aims to improve students’ reading comprehension at VIII C in MTs Subulussalam Kayuagung through English comic media. This research is a Classroom Action Research which is carried out by following John Elliot's model research procedure which includes planning, action, observation, reflection or evaluation. The research was conducted at MTs Subulussalam Kayuagung from the 2017-2018 which was odd semester of 26 students. The research shows that before being given instruction using english comic media the average score of reading student’s understanding is 62,70 (57,70%) with medium category. After reading comprehension learning using english comic media first cycle the average score of students’ comprehension ability increased to 70 (69.23%) still in medium category and done learning on second cycle of reading comprehension ability of student experience increase of average value and percentage equal to 81,54 (88,46%) with very high category.   References Arikunto, S. This study discusses the problem of reading comprehension of students of SD Negeri 1 Teluk Betung Galik North Bandar Lampung 2018/2019 academic year. The ability to read comprehension in this study includes: (a) disclosure of the contents of the reading, themes, and facts; (b) the ability to retell; and (c) the ability to draw reading conclusions. This study aims to find out and describe how the level of reading comprehension of students. To achieve the objectives of the study, the authors used a descriptive qualitative method, while the data collection techniques were essay test techniques. The population in this study amounted to 30 students and the study sample was set at 30 people. The sampling technique used is the total sampling technique. Analyzing the data in this study is to use a percentage. Reading comprehension ability in fifth grade students in even semester SD Negeri 1 Teluk Betung Galik North Bandar Lampung 2018/2019 academic year obtained an average score of 69.99 this value is included in the criteria enough. Based on the aspects of the assessment, the value of reading comprehension in the aspects of the disclosure of reading content, themes, and facts is in the sufficient category with an average score of 61.66. The ability to read comprehension in the aspect of retelling ability is in a sufficient category with an average score of 66.66. The ability to read comprehension in the aspect of the ability to draw reading conclusions is in a good category with an average score of 83.33.

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between reading interest and students' reading comprehension ability. Research approach using quantitative with correlational study method. The subjects of this study were students of class VA and VB at SD Negeri Karya Bhakti totaling 90 students. The sample was taken by 47 students, then this study was obtained using a five-scale questionnaire for the Reading Interest and Reading Comprehension Ability variables using tests. Therefore, from the data obtained, it was found that a moderate relationship between reading interest and reading comprehension ability was seen from the accumulated calculation results, which was 30% such as using the time to read books in the library, while 70% is influenced by other factors such as students who are motivated by the teacher to increase reading interest so that students can to read a comprehension and other factors are also influenced from outside of students, namely when doing tasks, students are guided and assisted by parents. . Based on the results of the research above, it can be concluded that there is a positive relationship between Reading Interest and Reading Comprehension Ability in class VA and VB students of SD Negeri Karya Bhakti Odd semester of the 2019/2020 academic year.

This research was designed to improve the students’ reading comprehension in English through the implementation of Reciprocal Teaching Method. The research employed a collaborative classroom action research design in which the researcher and the collaborative teacher worked together in preparing a suitable procedure of Reciprocal Teaching Method, designing the lesson plan, determining of the criteria of success, implementing the action, observing, and doing reflections. The subjects of this research were 40 students of Grade XI BHS 2 at MA. Nurul Jadid Problolinggo in the academic year 2019/2020. The data of this research were obtained through (1) observation sheet, to obtain information about teacher’s and the students’ activities and performance during the implementation of Reciprocal Teaching Method, (2) quiz, to identify whether the students had made progress in reading comprehension, and (3) questionnaire, to get information from the students whether the strategy applied could motivate the students to actively involve during the teaching and learning process. The result of the research showed that the Reciprocal Teaching Method in the teaching-learning of reading comprehension was effective in improving the students’ reading comprehension. The improvement was indicated by the increase of the students’ average score throughout the cycle of action that was 72.63 in the preliminary study; 79.88 in the test of Cycle 1. Besides, students were motivated and active in the class using the method in terms of learning to work together and to help each other in a group with different competence, which was showed by the result of their works.

Basically, the ability of Mathematical Comprehension is an ability that can be trained for every student. Students Worksheet (LKPD) is a learning aid in the learning process. One of them is LKPD based on CAT (Computer Assisted Test). CAT is a learning medium that is designed to be used to develop interactive LKPD related to integer arithmetic operations. This research method is the method of Research and Development. The subject of this research is class VI SD Private Methodist-12 Medan Academic Year 2019/2020. The variables to be measured are proof of important analytical and experimental functions and / or characteristics (TKT 3) which includes the accuracy of LKPD based on CAT design, comprehension ability. student mathematics and the effectiveness and efficiency of use. Based on the expert's judgment, the material in this study was carried out by one validator in the field of mathematics education. The aspects of the assessment are the feasibility of content, presentation, language and graphics. The average score of the four aspects was 88.02% in the Very Good category. Judgment of media experts that the aspects of media feasibility, content feasibility, presentation and graphic. The average value of this aspect is 90.73% in the Very Good category. The assessment of media experts that the aspects of media feasibility, content feasibility, presentation. The average value of these two aspects is 95.00% in the Very Good category. The results of the data analysis of the individual test responses showed that the aspects of content, objectives, feasibility, technical quality and attractiveness. The average value of these five aspects is 92.00% in the Very Good category. The results of the data analysis of the individual test responses showed that the aspects of learning content, objectives, feasibility, technical quality and attractiveness. The average value of these five aspects is 92.00% in the Very Good category. The results of the data analysis of the field test students' responses indicated that the aspects of the content, the objectives of, the feasibility, the quality of the technique and the attractiveness. This study is about the analysis of students’ reading comprehension ability, it is done to find out how students’ reading comprehension ability. This study was done at Indonesian Maritime Academy, Medan. The method of the study was quantitative with survey design. The instrument of the study used was a set of reading comprehension test which were constructed based on the taxonomic level. The respondent of this study were 83 respondents who were randomly selected, consisting of two students who studied English for almost two years at Indonesian Maritime Academy, Medan. The result is that the level of students’ reading comprehension among students is at the moderate level and there is a significant relationship between reading comprehension and English language achievement. In conclusion, one way to improve student achievement in English language subjects is by increasing the level of students ’reading comprehension.

This research was about Monitor Comprehension Strategy (MCS) to the reading comprehension of students in class 8 SMPN 9 Batam in academic year 2015/2016. The purpose of this study was to find the influence of strategy on reading comprehension of students. To get the purpose of the study, researchers conducted research experiments. 5QAAnumber of students is 210. Researchers used a purposive sampling technique to determine the grade of research. The subject was VIII.4 and VIII.7 classes totaling 30 students each class. Researchers conduct research in two classes. The first class (VIII.4) as experimental class and the second class (VIII.7) as the control class. In analyzing the data researchers used quantitative calculation to find the result. Data were analyzed showed significant differences before getting treatment for an average of 67.50 and 67.17 for the control class. The average score obtained student after getting treatment in the experimental class are 82.50 and 78.50. Based on these result, the use of Monitor comprehension strategy gives significant influence on student’s reading comprehension. Keywords: students’ reading comprehension, monitor comprehension strategy

The focus of this teaching and learning activity is to improve students' reading comprehension through English short stories in eleventh grade students of SMAS NU Centini Laren Lamongan. Utilizing the existence of English short stories as a medium is expected to make a positive contribution to students through their characteristics that make readers feel happy. This research is a Classroom Action Research which is carried out by following John Elliot's model research procedures which include planning, action, observation, reflection or evaluation. The research was carried out in the eleventh class of SMAS NU Centini Laren Lamongan for the academic year 2019-2020 even semester totaling 50 students. The results showed that before being given learning using short story books in English, the average value of reading comprehension was 56 (8%) in the very low category. After learning reading comprehension was carried out using English short story book media in the first cycle the average value of students 'reading comprehension increased to 67 (38%), still in the moderate category, and learning was carried out in the second cycle the students' reading comprehension ability increased the average score. and a percentage of 77 (86%) with a very high category. By using this method, there was a fairly good increase for the students of SMAS NU Centini Laren Lamongan. In addition, other results obtained were students easier to absorb and understand English learning material and this activity was also the starting point for other activities. Keywords:  Reading Comprehension, Short Story, CAR
