Sementara itu produksi TSS di Jawa Tengah mengalami kerugian, dengan nilai kerugian sebesar 184,3 juta rupiah dengan nilai R/C 0,41.</p><p><strong>Keywords</strong></p><p>Kelayakan finansial; TSS; Produksi bawang merah; Analisis usahatani</p><p><strong>Abstract</strong></p><p>Shallot is an important crop that has high economic value for Indonesia. Efforts for increasing shallot productivity to fit its potential yield are continuously pursued. However, these efforts are mostly constrained by the availability of high quality shallot bulb seed and its accessibility to be used by farmers along the year. An alternative planting material that recently has been promoted is the use of true shallot seed (TSS). Preliminary findings suggest a promising potential of TSS use because it may not only reduce the seed costs, but also may increase the yield. The objective of this study was to assess the financial feasibility of TSS production in three provinces of Indonesia. The study was conducted from June to December 2016 in (1) Gurgur Village, Tampahan Subdistrict, Tobassa District, North Sumatera, (2) Tulungrejo Village, Bauji Subdistrict Batu, East Java, and in (3) Gumeng Village, Jenawi Subdistrict, Karang Anyar District, Central Java. Data were analyzed by using an enterprise budget method. The results suggest that TSS production in North Sumatera and East Java provides positive profit as much as IDR 602.7 million (R/C = 3.44) and IDR 356.3 million (R/C = 2.63), respectively. Meanwhile, because of unfavorable climatic condition, TSS production in Central Java experiences a loss as much as IDR 184.3 million, with the R/C of 0.41.</p>

erusalem artichoke (Helianthus tuberosum L.) is a promising bioenergy multi-purpose crop. The Jerusalem artichoke is a valuable culture that is a source of inulin, fructose and pectin. Green mass of the Jerusalem artichoke has a high content of complex carbohydrate (fructose, glucose, sucrose, etc.) in the dry weight of the plant contain up to 17% protein with a balanced amino acid composition. Biotechnological methods are firmly established in plant growing practice and are widely used for rapid multiplication and obtaining healthy planting material of many economically important crops. The technology of micro clonal propagation “in vitro” has great importance for the development of seed production of Jerusalem artichoke and obtain sufficient quantity of high quality planting material. Formed innovative scheme of sequential technological process of seed production of Jerusalem artichoke includes the production of original seed material “in vitro” Jerusalem artichoke, mass reproduction by aero hydroponic installations, and the rationale based on research of the technology of growing high-quality seed of Jerusalem artichoke. It was found that at cultivation of minitubers of micro plants in aero hydroponic installation compared to farming by traditional technology, the cost of one minituber decreased by 9.58 RUB.

The aim of this paper is to show the state of production of seed intended for the establishment of organic crops in Serbia. Current regulations in many countries require that the seed and planting material used for organic farming must be produced according to the rules applicable to organic crops. Organic seed production, compared to conventional, carries a higher risk of weed seed contamination and of seed-borne diseases which make it more difficult to obtain high quality seeds. The early harvest is one of the possible measures to improve the seed health and there are various forms of seed treatments (natural plant extracts and substances of natural origin). Results within the field of seed production are closely related to conservation of plant landraces and exchange of their seeds that are necessary for organic food producers in Serbia.

<p>This research aimed to figure out the santri’s preference toward studies and professions in which conduct study at pesantren. Common perceived and stated also at Government Ordinancenumber 55, 2007, that pesantren purposes was to reproduce Islamic scholar (ulama). However, through this study, it proved that not all santri wanted to be ulama, most of them wanted to be a scientist. This study was a case study, conducted in 2015 at Pesantren Alhikmah2 Brebes. Data collected using questionnaire, interview, and document. Those all derived from santris, Kyais, and teachers (asatidz). The research concluded as showed from questionnaire that santri’s  preferences toward study has gotten  changing to general subject matters instead of religious subject matters; and the santri’s professions and jobspreference has gotten changing to the jobs and professions that based on general subject matter, instead of choose to be ulama (Islamic scholar) most of santri wanted to be scientists, or researchers, or doctors as well as athlete.</p>

ABSTRACT We assessed the quality of online health and nutrition information using a Google™ search on “supplements for cancer”. Search results were scored using the Health Information Quality Index (HIQI), a quality-rating tool consisting of 12 objective criteria related to website domain, lack of commercial aspects, and authoritative nature of the health and nutrition information provided. Possible scores ranged from 0 (lowest) to 12 (“perfect” or highest quality). After eliminating irrelevant results, the remaining 160 search results had median and mean scores of 8. One-quarter of the results were of high quality (score of 10–12). There was no correlation between high-quality scores and early appearance in the sequence of search results, where results are presumably more visible. Also, 496 advertisements, over twice the number of search results, appeared. We conclude that the Google™ search engine may have shortcomings when used to obtain information on dietary supplements and cancer.

In this paper, we examine the concept of the social balance sheet (SBS) and its evolution in corporate social reports that large companies have to issue today in their yearly statements. The SBS allows companies to evaluate their compliance with corporate social responsibility during a specific period and quantify its level of accomplishment. From a methodological perspective, this research analyzed the information that should be contained in the SBS report comparing economic value added (EVA) with other social value added statements (SVA), analyzing also in detail the case of Spain’s Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA) bank as one of the pioneers in offering social reports. Along with this study, their metrics following EVA were recalculated and a more academic SVA statement was proposed for this specific case.

This article analyses the factors leading to the success of women candidates in the 2019 elections in Central Java. Recent scholarship on women’s representation in Indonesia has highlighted the role that dynastic ties and relationships with local political elites play in getting women elected in an environment increasingly dominated by money politics and clientelism. Our case study of women candidates in Central Java belonging to the elite of the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU)-affiliated women’s religious organisations Muslimat and Fatayat shows that strong women candidates with grassroots support can nonetheless win office. Using the concepts of social capital and gender issue ownership, and clientelism, we argue that women candidates can gain a strategic advantage when they “run as women.” By harnessing women’s networks and focusing on gender issues to target women voters, they are able to overcome cultural, institutional, and structural barriers to achieve electoral success even though they lack resources and political connections.
