The objective of the present study was to identify scientific evidence in the literature regarding management and prevention of skin tears by nurses over the last ten years. This is an integrative review of articles found in the LILACS, SciELO, BDENF, MEDLINE, Scopus, ScienceDirect and PubMed databases, identified with the Portuguese, English and Spanish descriptors for "skin," "friction," or with the keyword "skin tears". After inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied, fifteen texts were selected. Scientific evidence demonstrated that the best management results are obtained by covering the tear with the skin flap itself, using octylcyanoacrylate or silicone-based products. Prevention consists of promoting a safe environment, through multidisciplinary work and health education. We conclude that it is the nursing staff's responsibility to avoid infection, trauma of any intensity, pain and bleeding.

Objective: To assess the views of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives on Maternal Health Education (MHE) and the barriers to its implementation.Methods: A total of 238 qualified nurses and midwives who participated in Mandatory Continuing Professional Development Programme (MCPDP) in South-eastern state of Nigeria voluntarily completed the self-administered research questionnaire. To avoid receiving duplicate copies of the questionnaires, all were serially numbered and all personal identifiers were removed. Of 348 participants that completed the questionnaires, only 238 met the inclusion criteria which included experience in antenatal clinics and qualifications in midwifery.Results: The majority of the study participants (86%) had both nursing and midwifery qualifications and the majority (98%) believed that MHE is beneficial to pregnant mothers particularly in reducing maternal morbidity and mortality (95.3%). A high percentage of the respondents (92%) agreed that MHE should be intensified for pregnant mothers in their work places. The identified major barriers to MHE include attitude of some health professionals (79%), some cultural practices (77%), inadequate economic resources (75%) and insufficient health personnel (71%). 18% of the respondents agreed that the hospital policy of their work places does not promote MHE.Conclusions: This study has demonstrated that nurses and midwives are aware of the importance of MHE in reducing maternal mortality and morbidity. There are still negative perceptions on the preparedness of the healthcare institutions towards MHE coupled with economic and cultural barriers. We recommend integrated MHE in the antenatal care plans of the pregnant woman.

This paper aims to evaluate how Canadian hospitals manage Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and their own corporate websites to promote their brand and reinforce their strategic positioning. We carried out a literature review about corporate communication, branding and health organizations; and then, we defined 48 key performance indicators to analyze how the best 85 Canadian hospitals managed Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and their corporate website for promoting their brands. We concluded that most Canadian hospitals used their corporate website for disseminating journalistic information; Facebook and Twitter, for interacting with patients; and Youtube, for publishing videos about health education.

There have been an increasing overweight and obesity in very anxious children. Furthermore, obesity is a condition that occurs due to the accumulation of excess or abnormal fat. This disorder is believed to be the most significant public health problem that affects children in the 21st century. This study aimed to examine the literature review, articles and research results analyzing the effectiveness of family or parent empowerment interventions through health education. Many research articles were searched on several databases such as PubMed and PreQuest, using the following keywords which include "family empowerment", "overweight", "obesity", "health lifestyle", "BMI", "children", "RCT" starting from 2014 to 2019. The searched results obtained 162 articles on family empowerment, overweight and obesity. Out of the 162 articles, 20 were selected that discussed family empowerment interventions for overweight and obesity. Critical analysis of the 20 articles was carried out based on design, sample, treatment, parameters, findings and conclusions. The literature review analysis showed that family empowerment interventions in the form of health education or promotion activities vary widely in terms of methods, components, duration, individuals involved, specificity and effectiveness. Furthermore, this intervention consists of training activities, courses, and teaching practices. Statistical analysis showed that all these methods significantly increased the ability and independence of the family in controlling overweight and obesity. In conclusion, health education interventions that are packaged in various programs are proven to significantly improve the ability of families or parents in preventing and controlling overweight and obesity in children.

Background: There has been a decrease in the number of IUD family planning acceptors in the last three years, from 3.69% in 2016 to 3% in 2017 and 2018. One factor in the low use of IUD contraceptives is public perception. The way to change people's negative perceptions about the IUD is to provide health education.Objectives: To review several journals about effect of health education about iud (intrauterine) device uses group discussion and brainstorming on the level of knowledge and attitudes fertile age couples.Methods: The study is a literature review method based on the articles searched on Google Scholar and PubMed. The keywords used to find articles were using the keywords "Health Education, IUD, Group Discussion, Brainstorming, Knowledge, and Attitudes". The data obtained were compiled, analyzed and concluded by looking for similarities, inequalities providing views, comparing and summarizing.Results: Literature review shows that there is an effect of health education with the method of group discussion and brainstorming on a person's knowledge and attitudes.Conclusion: Health education using the group discussion method has more influence on increasing knowledge and attitudes. It is hoped of the health institutions can improve health services by providing information through health education to the public about the benefits of intrauterine contraceptives (IUDs).

Resumo: A participação tanto de pais como educadores envolve um impacto surpreendente sobre as mudanças de hábitos da criança. O objetivo deste estudo foi verificar, por meio da literatura, o quanto a participação de pais e educadores como modelos pode impactar nas condições de saúde bucal dessa população. Tratou-se de uma revisão da literatura com pesquisa na base de dados Lilacs, Scielo e Medline; foram selecionadas publicações de 2010 a 2021, perfazendo um total de 27 textos analisados. Assim, a educação em saúde bucal de pais, educadores e responsáveis influencia na saúde bucal da criança e, quanto mais alto for o nível de educação em saúde dos envolvidos, menor será a incidência de doenças que acometem a cavidade bucal, como a cárie e doenças periodontais em crianças.---Abstract: The participation of both parents and educators has a surprising impact on children's changing habits. The aim of this study was to verify, through the literature, how much the participation of parents and educators as role models can impact the oral health conditions of this population. This was a literature review with a search in Lilacs, Scielo and Medline databases; publications from 2010 to 2021 were selected, totaling 27 texts analyzed. Finally, the oral health education of parents, educators and guardians influences the child's oral health and, the higher the level of health education of those involved, the lower the incidence of diseases that affect the oral cavity, such as caries and periodontal diseases in children.Keywords: Oral health education.
