Abstract Study of marine molluscan faunas from Quaternary deposits of the Casablanca region, Morocco, indicates two episodes during which the waters of the sea were cold, one during the Roman regression, the other during the Tyrrhenian transgression. The evolution of prehistoric industries exhibits a close relationship to fluctuations of the associated shore lines.
