Subsequently, the articles were classified according to their content or research area. The impact factor was obtained from the bibliometric analysis base of Scopus and Vos viewer.Results: Using the search criteria, 475 documents were recovered in the 2015-2021 period, excluding 2637 because they did not correspond to affiliation with centers or institutions directly related to documents related to chemical combustion and CO2 capture. In total, 73 documents were selected, in which an increase and interest in the study of these processes was verified both in the research areas and in the journals in which they are published. Most of the studies have been published in universities or research centers, and differences were observed in terms of the volume of international and national scientific production, so it is necessary to increase these investigations in Colombia.

AbstractGender equality and Open Access (OA) are priorities within the European Research Area and cross-cutting issues in European research program H2020. Gender and openness are also key elements of responsible research and innovation. However, despite the common underlying targets of fostering an inclusive, transparent and sustainable research environment, both issues are analysed as independent topics. This paper represents a first exploration of the inter-linkages between gender and OA analysing the scientific production of researchers of the Italian National Research Council under a gender perspective integrated with the different OA publications modes. A bibliometric analysis was carried out for articles published in the period 2016–2018 and retrieved from the Web of Science. Results are presented constantly analysing CNR scientific production in relation to gender, disciplinary fields and OA publication modes. These variables are also used when analysing articles that receive financial support. Our results indicate that gender disparities in scientific production still persist particularly in STEM disciplines, while the gender gap is the closest to parity in medical and agricultural sciences. A positive dynamic toward OA publishing and women’s scientific production is shown when disciplines with well-established open practices are related to articles supported by funds. A slightly higher women’s propensity toward OA is shown when considering Gold OA, or authorships with women in the first and last article by-line position. The prevalence of Italian funded articles with women’s contributions published in Gold OA journals seems to confirm this tendency, especially if considering the weak enforcement of the Italian OA policies.

In the last few years, bibliometric studies have proliferated, seeking to provide data on world research. This study analyzes the profile of the Brazilian scientific production in the A (H1N1) influenza field between 2009 and 2011. The research was conducted in MEDLINE, SciELO and LILACS databases, selecting papers in which the term "H1N1" and "Brazil" were defined as the main topics. The data were analyzed taking into consideration the Brazilian state and institution in which the articles were produced, the impact factor of the journal and the language. The research revealed 40 documents (27 from MEDLINE, 16 from SciELO and 24 from LILACS). The journal impact factor ranged from 0.0977 to 8.1230. A similar amount of articles were written in English and Portuguese and São Paulo was the most productive state in the country, with 95% of the Brazilian production originating from the Southern and Southeastern regions. Linguistic data indicate that previous efforts made in order to improve the scientific production of Brazilian researchers making their observations attain a broader scientific audience produced results. It is necessary to assess the scientific studies, especially those conducted with public funds, in order to ensure that the results will benefit society.

Abstract The purpose of this study was to investigate the association between language and total number of citations found among documents in journals written in English and other languages. We selected all the journals clustered together in the Journal Citation Reports 2014 under the subject category “Veterinary Sciences” and downloaded all the data registered between 1994-2013 by Web of Science for the journals that stated publishing documents in languages other than English. We classified each of these journals by quartile and extracted information regarding their impact factor, language(s) stated, country of origin, total number of documents published, total number of reviews published, percentage of documents published in English and the quartile in which each journal ranked. Of the 48,118 documents published by the 28 journals analyzed, 55.8% were published in English. Interestingly, although most of the journals state being multi-language, most documents published in quartile 1 journals were in English (an average of 99.2%), while the percentage was 93.1% in quartile 2 journals, 62.1% in quartile 3 journals and 27.4% in quartile 4 journals. We also confirmed that citation distribution in these journals was highly skewed. The results of this study suggest that journals should consider adopting English as the main language as this will increase citation counts and the impact factor of the journal.

Clavulanic acid (CA), a potent inhibitor of the β-lactam, ase enzyme, is frequently co-formulated with a broad spectrum of antibiotics to treat infections caused by β-lactamase-producing pathogens. In order to evaluate the impact and the progress of CA studies in the last four decades, a bibliometric analysis of the global scientific production of CA was carried out. A total of 39,758 records in the field of CA were indexed in the Scopus database for a 43-year period of study (1975–2017). The results indicated that CA studies have grown, showing three phases (1975–1999, 2000–2003 and 2004–2017) based on records of publications; the results showed a sigmoidal profile. Medicine was the main subject area for CA studies, whereas biochemistry, genetics and molecular biology were areas of research for CA production by Streptomyces clavuligerus (S. clavuligerus). Nevertheless, chemical engineering (as a subject area) had the highest increase in the percentage of publications related to CA production by S. clavuligerus. The United States, France, the United Kingdom, Spain and Brazil were the leading countries in the scientific production of studies on both CA and CA related to S. clavuligerus. This analysis allowed the identification of the area of knowledge with the highest impact on CA studies, the top researchers and their geographic distribution, and also helped to highlight the existence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria as an emergent area in CA research.

OBJECTIVES/SPECIFIC AIMS: The prevalence of BPH, coupled with associated disability ranging from quality of life impairments to hospitalization, has spurred decades of research into its pathophysiology, diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes. For these reasons, we conducted a study to characterize the current landscape of BPH literature, including the most commonly cited articles impacting the field. METHODS/STUDY POPULATION: We used the Web of ScienceTM databases to conduct a bibliometric analysis of the top 100 leading BPH articles. Bibliometric analyses are quantitative approaches examining the impact of academic literature. We used the following search terms: ‘benign prostatic hyperplasia’ and ‘benign prostatic enlargement.’ We identified and characterized the 100 most-cited BPH articles including their citations, journal, author, year, and country through September 2018. RESULTS/ANTICIPATED RESULTS: The top 100 BPH articles were published between 1978 and 2012. The number of citations ranged from 143 to 2,158 across 26 different journals, including 9 urology-specific journals. The Journal of Urology (5-year impact factor: 4.91) was the most published journal with 26 articles, followed by European Urology (5-year impact factor: 15.66) with 16, and Urology (5-year impact factor: 2.39) with 13. The oldest 10 articles in the top 100 mainly focused on BPH etiology/pathogenesis, while the newest 10 articles mainly focused on medical treatment. The 1990’s was the most productive decade accounting for nearly half of the top 100 articles (n=46). Eight authors had two or more first author publications, and 8 institutions had five or more publications in the top 100. Thirteen different countries were represented in the top 100 articles, with the US (n = 64), Italy (n=7), and Germany (n=5) being the most common. The articles were published in the following Web of Science Categories: Urology & Nephrology (n=68), Medicine, General & Internal (n=15), and Endocrinology & Metabolism (n=7). DISCUSSION/SIGNIFICANCE OF IMPACT: This study represents the first bibliometric analysis of the leading 100 BPH articles impacting the academic literature. The literature focus has evolved from BPH pathogenesis/etiology to treatment, and was primarily published in 3 specialty journals. Our findings highlight the most impactful BPH literature, and may be used to guide research and funding priorities for this increasingly common condition.

In recent years, an increasing number of studies with a focus on competitiveness and economic sectors have been developed. One of them is tourism competitiveness, also known as tourism destination competitiveness and destination competitiveness. Despite the increasing interest and number of studies in this regard, little can be found about tourism competitiveness using bibliometric methods and techniques. The aim of this paper is to use bibliometric tools to examine the evolution of scientific production on the subject of tourism competitiveness. The information in this paper comes from the Web of Science scientific database. The findings demonstrate how far the research has progressed and how influential it has been in the scientific community. In the years 1991 to 2018, a total of 1,325 papers were recovered. Years, citations, writers, universities, countries, journals, and research areas are conveniently organized and presented form the systematically gathered area. This study aims to analyze the intellectual structure of research in Financial Education from bibliometric techniques from 1970 to 2020. To carry out this analysis, the SciMAT software has been used with which the performance and scientific production have been extracted, as well as the most important topics within the area of Financial Education through the analysis of the co-occurrence of keywords. The results obtained show how Financial Education is a research area with great potential and growth expectations, finding that the most prominent topics within this research area are risk management, user savings and spending, and use of money. This study contributes to the analysis of Financial Education in different fields, helping to understand its intellectual structure. Resumen El presente estudio se propone analizar la estructura intelectual de la investigación en Educación Financiera a partir de técnicas bibliométricas desde 1970 hasta 2020. Para llevar a cabo este análisis se ha utilizado el software SciMAT con el que se ha extraído el rendimiento y la producción científica, así como los temas más importantes dentro del área de Educación Financiera mediante el análisis de co-ocurrencia de palabras clave. Los resultados obtenidos muestran como la Educación Financiera es un área de investigación con un gran potencial y expectativas de crecimiento, encontrándose que los temas más destacados dentro de esta área de investigación son la gestión del riesgo, el ahorro y el gasto de los usuarios y la utilización del dinero. Este estudio contribuye al análisis de la Educación Financiera en distintos campos ayudando a una comprensión de su estructura intelectual.

Studying closed gas turbine cycles on supercritical carbon dioxide is currently a promising issue in the development of power energy sector in terms of increasing energy efficiency and minimizing greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere. Combustion of methane with oxygen in the combustion chamber occurs not in the nitrogen environment, but in the environment of carbon dioxide, that is the working fluid of the cycle, which is an inhibitor of chemical reactions. A large mass content of such a diluent of the reaction mixture in the volume of the chamber leads to the risks of significant chemical underburning, efficiency decrease of the combustion chamber and the cycle as a whole. The aim of the research is to study the kinetic parameters of the combustion of methane with oxygen in a supercritical CO2 diluent medium to ensure reliable and stable combustion of fuel by assessing the degree of the inhibitory effect of CO2 and determining its permissible amount in the active combustion zone of the combustion chamber. The research method is a numerical simulation of turbulent-kinetic processes of methane combustion in the combustion chamber using the reduced methane combustion mechanism. Ansys Fluent software package has been used. The authers have studied the impact of CO2 diluent on fuel cоmbustion in methane-oxygen combustion chambers. It is found that the combustor flame stabilization takes place if the content of СО2 diluent supplied to the mixture with oxidizer is 0,46–0,5 of mass fraction; additional СО2 diluent forms local low temperature zones which slow down the combustion process. When this happens, adding cooling СО2 into the flame stabilization zone should be eliminated. The study has found that no more than 20 % of the total carbon dioxide content should be supplied to the combustion chamber; to stabilize the flame and reduce its length, it is necessary to install blades to swirl the fuel and oxidizer mixed with CO2 at the inlet of the combustion chamber; CO2 supply for cooling should be carried out not less than 130 mm away from the burner mouth.

Purpose – This study aims to examine publication characteristics and development of a science journal Journal of Membrane Science (JMS) with 35 years ' history by bibliometric indicators. Design/methodology/approach – A bibliometric approach was used to identify its document types, impact factor, publication outputs, most cited articles and large contributing countries/territories and institutions. The main indicators included impact factor, CPP (citations per publication), TC2010 (number of citations from one paper’s publication to the end of 2010), C2010 (number of citations in the year of 2010), number of total articles, “single country articles” and “single institution articles”, “internationally collaborative articles” and “inter-institutionally collaborative articles”, “first author articles” and “corresponding author articles”. The annual citations of most cited articles were displayed in a table list. Findings – The two-year citation window used by impact factor is not fair for a journal which had its peak annual citations in the third or more years. JMS would get a better citation performance if impact factor can be calculated for three or four years. Impact factor is affected by the size of its subject categories. JMS showed higher impact factor rankings in both chemical engineering and polymer science category in the early twenty-first century. Furthermore, the G8 (Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, the UK and the USA) contributed more than a half of the total, with higher CPP. National University of Singapore, University of Twente and Chinese Academy of Sciences were the main contributing institutions. The citation life cycles revealed the impact history of most cited articles. Originality/value – A bibliometric analysis has been carried out to analyze the characteristics of a journal with 35 years ' history. Some improved indicators including TC2010, C2010, TP, SP, CP, FP and RP have been used for the evaluation. This study provides an evidence from JMS to discuss the feasibility and limitations of impact factor.
