Abstract A comparison between the influence of concurrent A and B-site acceptor-donor (Li,Nb) and donor-donor (La,Nb) doping in Pb-free Bi 0.5 (Na 0.84 K 0.16 ) 0.5 TiO 3 –SrTiO 3 piezoelectrics on structure, ferroelectric and high voltage induced strain were made. In this work, Lithium was chosen as acceptor and Lanthanum was chosen as donor dopant on A-site and Nb 5+ as a B-site donor. Both modifier impurities promoted a phase evolution from the coexistent of two phase structures (rhombohedral-tetragonal) into a more symmetric single pseudocubic structure. Nonetheless, (La,Nb) donor-donor doping induced the phase transition at 1 mol%, while (Li,Nb) acceptor-donor doping at 2 mol%. Interestingly, acceptor-donor (Li,Nb) co-substitution results in the broadening of ergodic relaxor and ferroelectric (ER-FE) mixed phase boundary which is favourable for multidevice applications. This comparative study show that the A-site vacancies play a substantial role to induce the phase transformation from nonergodic-ergodic relaxor (NR-ER) and the improvement in their high voltage induced strain.

An effort has been made to synthesize polycrystalline (Bi1−xLax)0.5Na0.5TiO3 (abbreviated as BLNT) system with compositions x = 0, 0.02, and 0.04 by novel semiwet technique. Preparation of A-site oxides of BLNT for composition x = 0 was optimized using two precursor solutions such as ethylene glycol and citric acid. The XRD patterns revealed that the sample prepared by ethylene glycol precursor solution has single phase perovskite structure with a rhombohedral symmetry at RT as compared to the sample prepared by citric acid. Ethylene glycol precursor has been found to play a significant role in the crystallization, phase transitions, and electrical properties. The studies on structure, phase transitions, and dielectric properties for all the samples have been carried out over the temperature range from RT to 450°C at 100 kHz frequency. It has been observed that two phase transitions (i) ferroelectric to antiferroelectric and (ii) antiferroelectric to paraelectric occur in all the samples. All samples exhibit a modified Curie-Weiss law above Tc. A linear fitting of the modified Curie-Weiss law to the experimental data shows diffuse-type transition. The dielectric as well as ferroelectric properties of BLNT ceramics have been found to be improved with the substitution of La elements.

Wing lengths of Clamorous Reed Warblers Acrocephalus stentoreus in Israel Wing length measurements taken from first-year, pre- and post-moulting (annual, complete) Clamorous Reed Warblers were recorded at a site in northern Israel. The resulting data set was examined using a time-series of residuals (CUSUM). Results from this analysis can explain the reported heterogeneity found in a comparable data set by Merom et al. (1999). Further observations made in their paper are rebutted: (1) an implied assumption that Reed Warbler (Acrocephalus scirpaceus) spring migration in Israel ends by 1 May is contrary to other publications; (2) the late autumn occurence in N Israel of longer-winged 1st cal. yr. Reed Warblers, unconvincingly explained as either delayed migration by larger individuals or post fledging feather growth, is most likely due to birds from different provenances origins moving at different seasons; (3) growth during adulthood in Reed Warbler is not a new discovery, though presented as such.

AbstractInvestigation of crystal structure, magnetic and local ferroelectric properties of the diamagnetically-doped Bi1−xAxFeO3 (A= Ca, Sr, Pb, Ba; x= 0.2, 0.3) ceramic samples has been carried out. It has been shown that the solid solutions have a rhombohedrally distorted perovskite structure described by the space group R3c. Piezoresponse force microscopy data have revealed the existence of the spontaneous ferroelectric polarization in the samples at room temperature. Magnetization measurements have shown that the magnetic state of these compounds is determined by the ionic radius of the substituting elements. A-site substitution with the biggest ionic radius ions has been found to suppress the spiral spin structure of BiFeO3 and to result in the appearance of weak ferromagnetism. The magnetic properties have been discussed in terms of doping- induced changes in the magnetic anisotropy.

1038 Background: ARX788 is a site-specific, homogeneous, and highly stable ADC. The payload AS269 is conjugated to the synthetic amino acids para-acetylphenylalanine (pAF) in a humanized anti-HER2 mAb. ARX788 demonstrated promising activity in HER2-positive, HER2-low, and T-DM1 resistant tumors in preclinical studies. Here we present the phase 1 clinical data evaluating the safety, antitumor activity, and PK of ARX788 in advanced solid tumors. Methods: The standard 3+3 design (0.33 - 1.5 mg/kg; Q3W or Q4W) is used to determine the MTD and/or RP2D in two phase 1 studies in HER2-positive solid tumors in U.S. and Australia (ACE-Pan tumor-01) and in HER2-positive breast cancers in China (ACE-Breast-01). The efficacy endpoints include ORR and DCR. Intensive PK sampling in first 3 cycles is performed to characterize serum PK profiles of ARX788, total Ab, and pAF-AS269. Results: 69 and 34 heavily pretreated patients received ARX788 monotherapy in the ACE-Breast-01 (median 6 prior lines of therapy) and ACE-Pan tumor-01 trial (including breast, gastric/GEJ, NSCLC, ovarian, urothelial, biliary track, endometrial, and salivary gland cancer) respectively. Dose escalation for both studies have been completed with no DLT reported. MTD has not been reached. ARX788 was generally well tolerated with most AEs being grade 1 or 2. The most common grade >3 AEs include ocular AEs (5.7 %) and pneumonitis (4.3%) in the ACE-Breast-01 trial; pneumonitis (2.9%) and fatigue (2.9%) in the ACE-Pan tumor-01 trial. Low systemic toxicities in terms of the incidence rate and grade (as shown in table). No treatment-related death. In the 1.5 mg/kg cohort, ORR was 74% (14/19) and 67% (2/3) for ACE-Breast-01 and ACE-Pan tumor-01, respectively. DCR was 100%. Median DOR or median PFS has not been reached. PK profiles for total antibody and ARX788 were generally comparable across all dose levels. Mean T1/2 for ARX788 and total antibody had approximately 100 hours at the dose of 1.5 mg/kg. Serum pAF-AS269 concentrations peaked with a median time of 168 h. Serum exposure of pAF-AS269 was low with the Cmax and AUC at cycle 1 being approximately 0.1% and 0.18% of those for ARX788 on a molar basis, respectively. Conclusions: High stability of ARX788 and low serum exposure of pAF-AS269 may underlie the low systemic toxicity, which differentiates it from other ADCs. Clinical trial information: NCT032550070 .[Table: see text]

Diurnal atmospheric air-ion concentrations have been investigated at a site where synchronous aerosol, ozone, temperature and relative humidity measurements were also made. Air-ions, temperature and relative humidity were measured with Gerdien type Cylindrical Detector of Air-Ions (CDI-06) made in the Institute of Physics, Belgrade. Ozone and aerosols were measured with commercial instruments owned by the Institute of Public Health, Belgrade. Typical daily variations of the measured parameters were analyzed and showed that air-ions of both signs and ozone are positively correlated, while aerosols show strong inverse correlation with air-ions. Also, concentrations of air-ions and ozone are decreasing with temperature while aerosol concentration and humidity are increasing. These processes could be explained concerning properties of the specified parameters, measuring place properties and weather conditions.

FePt - PtTe 2 two phase nanorods have been produced by a polyol process. The shape and magnetic properties of two phase nanorods with different phase ratio are investigated. L10 phase transformation of FePt in the nanorods has been accomplished at annealing temperature as low as 400 °C with Hc above 500mT. High temperature annealing causes the disintegration of the nanorods due the melting/evaporation of Te element.
