There was elucidated the original approach to the evaluation of phytopopulation size structure. For its characteristics it was offered to use the special index - index diversity of size structure (ІDSS). There are presented methods and algorithm of its determination. There was demonstrated that index diversity of size structure can be used at populational studies of species that belong to the different living forms. Especially phanerophytes (Pinus sylvestris) and hamephytes (Ledum palustre). As to Pinus sylvestris and Ledum palustre with help of index diversity of size structure was objectively proved that its cohorts and ontogenetic groups that growth in composition of forest phytocenoses typical for Ukrainian Polissya are not characterized with high level diversity of size structure. The value of index diversity of size structure is mainly less than 20 %. In phytopopulation the specific and phytocenotic peculiarity is demonstrated by diversity of size structure and also by representation of plants of certain size classes.

 The population structure of Limia zonata (Nichols, 1915) was studied in four locations in the Maimón River, Monseñor Nouel province, Dominican Republic. The sex and adult-juveniles ratio was calculated for all sampled localities. It was found that the sex ratio of L. zonata was significantly different from 1: 1 and is biased towards females (1.0: 1.6). Juvenile fish were more abundant and frequent than adults (69.3%). More than 800 fish were measured and weighed to analyze the frequency of size classes, morphometry and body condition. Ten size classes were distinguished that vary in frequency according to sex. Total length of the specimens ranged from 6.50 to 65.69 mm, while weight varied between 0.004 and 3.941 g. The morphology varied between sexes and a pronounced sexual dimorphism was found. All the morphometric variables studied showed a high level of association (r). The adjustment of the regression models (r2) of the morphometric relationships was between 85% and 99%. The relationship between the standard length and the total weight was reflected in the rates of growth. The Relative Condition Factor (Kn) demonstrated the good state of health of this fish population, but also variations between the sexes were detected.

Fusarium circinatum is the causal agent of Pine Pitch Canker (PPC) of pines and established in the Iberian Peninsula in Europe only. However, it is hypothesized that its range could expand through the Europe in the near future. The disease is very harmful to forests and nurseries all around the world. Despite the aggressiveness of this fungus, no trials on the susceptibility of Ukrainian Scots pine provenances from Pinus sylvestris to F. circinatum have been performed. The first preliminary pathogenicity test was carried out in vitro and revealed the strong probability of high level of pine seedlings susceptibility to pitch canker.

Abstract Skipjack tuna is one of the potential fishery commodities in the waters of Timor, East Nusa Tenggara. This fish is exploited throughout the year without any management policies. This study aims to analyse population dynamic parameter. Length data were collected at the Oeba Fish Base from April to December 2020. Data analysis, size structure and age group of the Bhattacharya method, the L∞ and K values of the Ford and Walford method, total mortality by length catch converted curve, natural mortality by Pauly method, Y/R using the Beverton and Holt method. The results showed that the smallest fish was 27 cm FL, the largest was 71 cm FL, the dominant size is 55-58 cm FL and the average length was 48,68 ± 10,67 cm FL, L∞ 91.00 cm FL, and K 0.51 year1. The population consists of three age groups, the values of Z, M, F and E are 2.64 year1, 0.86 year1, 1.78 year1, and 0.68 year1 respectively. Current Y/R and optimal Y/R values are 0.036 and 0.060 grams recruit1 respectively. The conclusion, the high mortality of skipjack tuna is caused by fishing activities, and the high level of exploitation causes the recruitment process to be not optimal.

The research examined awareness, prospects and constraints of sustainable marketing mix development (SMD) from the perspective of Poland’s high-energy consumer goods (HECG), i.e., confectionery products, as an example of the Polish food industry. A questionnaire survey was designed for this purpose. The purpose of the survey questions was to evaluate selected areas of SMD; thus, a reference value ratio was proposed. An original approach to pairwise comparisons technique was applied to rank the value of each survey to provide an intensity measure for each examined area, i.e., a non-heuristic approach with verifiable accuracy and reliability. It was found that a high level of awareness among respondents exists in relation to SMD. Considering all aspects of constraints intensity for SMD, it could be concluded that SMD for Poland’s HECG is at a quite high level. However, considering all aspects of prospects intensity for SMD, this evaluation supported the conclusion that its level for Poland’s HECG is moderate only. It was also found that prices of sustainable products constitute the highest ranked determinant of SMD. Considering these research findings regarding awareness, limitations and perspectives for the development of a sustainable marketing mix in the enterprises operating in Poland’s HECG sector, it can be concluded that there are many more problems and difficulties in implementing sustainable marketing mix programs than there are prospects for the development of this concept.

The current review article is based on the facts to reveal the biological potentials of the genus ledum, and specie palustre. Although in the article all the species are well described with their distribution in all over the world and their pharmacological activities are also discussed. Rhododendron tomantosum is also known as Marsh Tea or northern Labrador tea, which is an evergreen shrub having the height of about 40 cm and the plant has about ten species in all over the world. Article has very informative aspect regarding Hypouricemic Significance of Ledum palustre (L. palustre), its chemical compounds extracted and analyzed by different spectroscopic and chromatographic techniques to report the active principles from the oil of the Rhododendron tomantosum fresh leaves. The main active compounds were found are given as (41.0–43.4%) ledol (23.3–26.7%) and ascaridole (15.1–4.5%). L. palustre has a very significant role in the gout and arthritis occurs due the presence of high amount of uric acid in the blood plasma. Various dosage forms are mentioned in the review article to explore the potentials of the drug. Hence according to literature if L. palustre is significantly capable to reduce the high level of the uric acid if give in the potency if 30 c (diluted 30 times)) and 1 M ((1000 dilutions) to the patients, and may be a good alternative to the allopurinol. So, this drug is frequently used in the homeopathic system of medicine to get the hypouricemic significance in the human beings.

The relationship between body mass (M) and size class abundance (N) depicts patterns of community structure and energy flow through food webs. While the general assumption is that M and N scale linearly (on log–log axes), nonlinearity is regularly observed in natural systems, and is theorized to be driven by nonlinear scaling of trophic level (TL) with M resulting in the rapid transfer of energy to consumers in certain size classes. We tested this hypothesis with data from 31 stream food webs. We predicted that allochthonous subsidies higher in the web results in nonlinear M–TL relationships and systematic abundance peaks in macroinvertebrate and fish size classes (latter containing salmonids), that exploit terrestrial plant material and terrestrial invertebrates, respectively. Indeed, both M–N and M–TL significantly deviated from linear relationships and the observed curvature in M–TL scaling was inversely related to that observed in M–N relationships. Systemic peaks in M–N, and troughs in M–TL occurred in size classes dominated by generalist invertebrates, and brown trout. Our study reveals how allochthonous resources entering high in the web systematically shape community size structure and demonstrates the relevance of a generalized metabolic scaling model for understanding patterns of energy transfer in energetically ‘open’ food webs.
