The research aimed to develop a web-based application using the certainty factor. The use of this certainty factor method allowed processing the data based on the degree of confidence from the experts and the users. The users inputted their symptoms each with the level of confidence. The inference engine drew some conclusions based on the matching process between the input and the rules in the knowledge-based. For every matching pair, the system would calculate the certainty factor. The knowledge-based was developed through discussion with three specialist physicians and literature in some previous studies. The evaluation of the system involved three specialists for validation testing and 51 respondents for BlackBox testing. The final result is displayed in the form of a percentage for each hepatitis type, explanation of first aid for hepatitis, and referral hospital for hepatitis patients. The result shows that the error rate in the diagnosis process is under 36%. Most of the respondents think that the quality of the system is good overall.

In this paper, we present a distributed collaborative system assisting physicians in diagnosis when processing medical images. This is a Web-based solution since the different participants and resources are on various sites. It is collaborative because these participants (physicians, radiologists, knowledgebasesdesigners, program developers for medical image processing, etc.) can work collaboratively to enhance the quality of programs and then the quality of the diagnosis results. It is intelligent since it is a knowledge-based system including, but not only, a knowledge base, an inference engine said supervision engine and ontologies. The current work deals with the osteoporosis detection in bone radiographies. We rely on program supervision techniques that aim to automatically plan and control complex software usage. Our main contribution is to allow physicians, who are not experts in computing, to benefit from technological advances made by experts in image processing, and then to efficiently use various osteoporosis detection programs in a distributed environment.

Mosquitoes are insects that often make us worried because of the bite. One of the dangers caused by mosquito bites is a variety of diseases that can even cause death. Indonesia is a tropical country that is endemic in diseases that are spread by mosquitoes, such as dengue fever, malaria, and filariasis (elephantiasis). The expert system of first aid diagnosis of diseases caused by mosquito bites will be an alternative to overcome the problems that occur so that later the public can find out about information and do first aid to diseases caused by mosquito bites. This system was built using the Certainty Factor method and implemented into an Android-based application to determine the type of disease suffered due to mosquito bites. Knowledgebase was obtained from interviews with Dr. Andik Setiawan, literature study, and browsing. The results of testing the expert system of first aid diagnosis of diseases caused by mosquito bites is known that the Certainty Factor method is able to determine the type of disease from the symptoms mentioned by 40.8%.

People with Mental Disorders (ODGJ) as a trigger for people who suffer from disorders of thought, feeling and behavior cause changes in attitudes and behavior that hinder normal human functioning. Mental disorders as a syndrome characterized by a change in a person's behavior that will be associated with symptoms such as difficulties or disorders, as well as psychological functions and behavior that are not confident in dealing with people but can also be with that person. An expert system is an intelligent computer technology that is based on solving problems using inferential knowledge and procedures. As a problem solver, expert systems will also find it easier to make decisions or policies like humans do. This study aims to produce an expert system that is used to analyze mental disorders who can make similar decisions, as well as psychiatric specialists. The data processed in this study is scientific data on mental disorders ranging from types of mental illness, early symptoms of disease and patient diagnosis data by mental health specialists, then the data is processed using the Certainty Factor method and displayed in the form of a web-based application using the PHP programming language. and MySQL databases. The results obtained from testing the expert system using the Certainty Factor method show that there is a match between the results of an expert diagnosis of depression with a certainty level of 73%. An expert system for analyzing mental disorders using the Certainty Factor method can make it easier for sufferers to understand the type of mental disorder they are experiencing.

Herpes Zoster is a skin disease that is very difficult to treat and everyone can certainly experience it, the characteristics of this disease are characterized by unilateral vesicles in groups with pain characterized by radicular around the dermatome. This study aims to establish a Web-based Certainty factor method as a tool to diagnose skin diseases. With this application, it doesn’t need long time to find out what type of herpes zoster is suffering. To use this application  is that the patient answers the questions which are provided by the system, then the system will process all the patient answers using the certainty factor method, after that, the system will produce output as the results of the diagnosis of the type of shingles. The system built can help patients to know the type of disease that is being suffered by the patients and in accordance with expert analysis of skin diseases.Keywords:Certainty factor, Herpes zoster, web.

Abstract :In cultivating durian farmers often suffer losses because durian plants are always attacked by pests and durian plant diseases because farmers still use manual methods to find out in dealing with durian plant diseases. From the existing problems, the purpose of this study is to design an expert system with Certainty factor method in handling web-based durian plant diseases that can be accessed by anyone. The benefits of this research provide convenience and help farmers to consult those who have activities worthy of a very experienced system such as experts. The expert system method used is using Certainty factor. The research methodology used by using a qualitative approach. The location of this research was conducted at the Asahan District Agriculture Service specifically in the field of plantations. The design model uses the Rad model, the programming language used by PHP and MySQL as its database. The results of this study are expected by the application of an expert system using the web-based Certainty factor method to diagnose diseases in durian plants and provide treatment solutions so that it can make it easier for farmers and communities to deal with diseases in the durian plants.                                       Keywords: Expert System; Durian; Certainty factor  Abstrak: Dalam membudidayakan durian petani selalu merasa rugi disebabkan tanaman durian selalu diserang para hama dan penyakit tanaman durian dikarenakan mereka tetap memakai cara yang kuno saat mendeteksi serta mengatasi penyakit tanaman durian. Dari permasalahan tersebut jadi tujuan penelitian ini agar merancang sistem pakar dengan metode Certainty factor pada penanganan penyakit tanaman durian berbasis web yang dapat diakses oleh siapa saja. Manfaat dari penelitian ini memberikan serta mempermudah juga menolong para petani ketika bertanya, juga mempunyai aktifitas seperti sistem yang handal bagaikan para ahli. Metode sistem pakar yang digunakan menggunkan Certainty factor. Metodeologi penelitian yang dipakai dengan mengguna-kan kualitatif. Tempat penelitian ini berada pada Dinas Pertanian kabupaten Asahan khusus nya dibidang perkebunan. Model perancangan menggunakan model Rad, bahasa pemograman yang dipakai php dan MySQL menjadi penyimpanan data nya. Hasil akhir dari penelitian ini diharapkan dengan adanya aplikasi sistem pakar memakai cara Certainty factor berjalan di web dapat mendiagnosa penyakit pada tanaman durian dan memberikan solusi penanganannya sehingga dapat lebih memudahkan petani dan masyarakat dalam menangani penyakit pada tanaman durian tersebut. Kata Kunci : Sistem Pakar; Durian; Certainty Factor

There are two factors that cause a disease, called  Congenital and Acquired. Congenital refers to a disease a person is born with, while Acquired refers to a disease acquired after a person was born such as infection, trauma, and neoplasm. The infected person will sometimes require information on the disease before going to the doctor or a hospital. Such information may be found from a system which receives input on the symptoms and gives a clear information on the corresponding disease. This may be achieved via a system of experts, in which the expert refers to an ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) specialist. Such information is hoped to provide a solution on the disease. The system of ENT specialists designed and research in this paper used the certainty factor method. The method will overcome the uncertainty in decision making depending on the symptoms described by the user. This paper is successfully applied certainty factor method used as an instrument of decision making in the system of ENT specialists. The system is web-based, enabling the user to access and choose the symptoms of the disease as well as acquiring information on ENT diseases  easly.

The Covid -19 virus spread in the world, especially in Indonesia, very fast. This epidemic is of concern around the world because it has a quite bad impact in various sectors. With existing technological advances, the Expert System can assist medical personnel in detecting the Covid -19 Virus. The purpose of the author in conducting the study was to detect the Covid-19 virus as easily as possible with symptom data obtained from patients who had consultations. The Naïve Bayes method is a method that uses probability and statistics that can predict a person's chance of being exposed to Covid-19 in the future based on symptoms experienced in the previous period packed with a web-based program. For comparison, the author uses the Certainty Factor Method. Certainty Factor is a method that aims to determine the certainty value which is based on the previous calculation of CF value by manual calculation. The Naïve Bayes method can group the symptoms obtained from the official WHO website which has been given an indicator of the percentage of someone exposed to the Covid-19 Virus based on the symptom data experienced to determine a person exposed to the Covid-19 Virus. While the Certainty Factor method gets the confidence of someone exposed to the symptoms of the Covid-19 virus by using the calculation indicator on the CF value that has been consulted by the user, which can provide a percentage level of confidence that is 86%.Keywords:Expert System, Covid-19, Naive Bayes, Certainty Factor.


This paper describes the creation of an expert system that is used to diagnose diseases in chili plants using a web-based certainty factor method. This expert system is made based on the weight of symptoms by experts so that users can find out the disease suffered by chili plants based on symptoms that arise. The symptom weight was calculated using the certainty factor method. This method is used to accommodate uncertainties that are often expressed by experts when detecting a disease. The design and manufacture of this expert system are done using the PHP programming language, MySQL database, CSS and the CodeIgniter framework. The results of the analysis between expert and expert systems have 87.09% compatibility level, and based on the calculation of the feasibility of the system with the Delone and McLean model shows that 77.58% of respondents agree Pakarcabaiku.com is a successful system for detecting chili disease.

Expert System in this study using Certainty Factor method in representing the knowledge gained.
