The increasing competition in hotel business forces every hotel to be equiped with analysis tools that can maximize its marketing performance. This paper discusses the development of a data warehouse model and analytic tools to enhance the company's competitive advantage through the utilization of a variety of data, information and knowledge held by the company as a raw material in the decision making process. A study is done at ABC Hotel which uses a database to save the transactional record. However, the database cannot be directly used to support analysis and decision making process. Based on this issue, the company needs a data warehouse model and analytic tools that can be used to store large amounts of data and also potentially to gain a new perspective of data distribution which allows to provide reporting and answers of ad hoc users questions and assist managers in making decisions. Further data warehouse model and analytic tools can be used to help manager to formulate planning and marketing strategies. Data are collected through interviews and literature study, followed by data analysis to analyze business processes, to identify the problems and the information to support analysis process. Furthermore, data warehouse is designed using analysis of records related to the activities in hotel's marketing area and data warehouse model. The result of this paper is data warehouse model and analytic tools to analyze the external and transactional data and to support decision making process in marketing area.

Data Warehouse is a computer system for archiving and analyzing historical data of an organization. An organization copies information from its operational systems to a warehouse. The purpose of this research is to help provide information in supporting the decision-making process in the field of sales, purchasing and material inventory control at PT Kanaan Global Indonesia. PT Kanaan Global Indonesia previously presented the data warehouse manually. By designing a data warehouse system, company leaders can be more assisted in making decisions that are faster and more precise. The research method used includes analysis of observations, interviews, documentation and literature study. The result of this research is the availability of a data warehouse that can produce fast and precise information, thus helping the company in making decisions. Keywords— Data, Information, Warehouse

This paper is about designing and implementing data warehousing and data mining, along with their roles in supporting decision-making related to sales product analysis in cross-selling concept of PT XYZ. The database the company used is not supporting data analysis and decision-making. Therefore, it made a data warehousing design that could be used to keep data in a huge amount and could give report and answer from user’s questions in ad hoc. The method is used to design and implement data warehousing and data mining which consists of literature study, company problem analysis, and data warehousing design, and testing result. The writing results are a data warehousing design and data mining and also the implementation of cross-selling concept to analysis the sales, purchases, and customers’ cancellation data. The data could be showed and analyzed from some point of views that could help managers to analyse and acknowledge more information.

One rapidly evolving technology today is information technology, which can help decision-making in an organization or a company. The data warehouse is one form of information technology that supports those needs, as one of the right solutions for companies in decision-making. The objective of this research is the development of a data warehouse at PT JKL in order to support executives in analyzing the organization and support the decision-making process. Methodology of this research is conducting interview with related units, literature study and document examination. This research also used the Nine Step Methodology developed by Kimball to design the data warehouse. The results obtained is an application that can summarize the data warehouse, integrating and presenting historical data in multidimensional. The conclusion from this research is the data warehouse can help companies to analyze data in a flexible, fast, and effective data access. Keywords: Data Warehouse; Inventory; Contract Approval; Inventory; Dashboard

Employees as a resource management are essential to improve the effectiveness of company’s performance and process efficiency. This paper discusses the implementation of data warehouse and its role in assisting the decision making related to recruitment activities undertaken by Human Resources Department. In this research built a data warehouse design to store large amounts of data and to gain potentially a new perspective of data distribution as well as to provide reports and solutions for users the ad hoc question and to analyze the transactional data. This study aims to design a data warehouse to support accurate decision making related to human resource management in order to create high performance productivity. The method used in this paper consists of: (1) data collection using interview and literature study related to employee recruitment and (2) data warehouse design derived from Teh Ying Wah et al. This research results in a data warehouse design and its implementation to analyze transactional data from the related activities of recruitment and employee management to support decision making.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate and explain how organizations in the construction sector can enhance their decision-making process (DMP) by practising knowledge management (KM) and business process management (BPM) activities. A conceptual framework is developed that recognises the elements that impact DMP in terms of KM and BPM. The development of this framework goes beyond current empirical work on KM in addition to BPM as it investigates a wider variety of variables that impact DMP. Design/methodology/approach A case study is undertaken in the context of the construction industry in Jordan. A theoretical framework is developed and assessment of the proposed framework was undertaken through a questionnaire survey of decision-makers in the construction sector and expert interviews. Findings The outcomes of this research provide several contributions to aid decision-makers in construction organizations. Growth in the usage of KM and BPM, in addition to the integration between them, can provide employees with task-related knowledge in the organization’s operative business processes, improve process performance, promote core competence and maximise and optimise business performance. Originality/value Through the production of a framework, this study provides a tool to enable improved decision-making. The framework generates a strong operational as well as theoretical approach to the organizational utilization of knowledge and business processes.

Evacuation for a firefighter in complex fire scene is challenge problem. In this paper, we discuss a firefighters evacuation decision making model in ad hoc robot network on fire scene. Due to the dynamics on fire scene, we know that the sensed information in ad hoc robot network is also dynamically variance. So in this paper, we adapt dynamic decision method, Markov decision process, to model the firefighters decision making process for evacuation from fire scene. In firefighting decision making process, we know that the critical problems are how to define action space and evaluate the transition law in Markov decision process. In this paper, we discuss those problems according to the triangular sensors situation in ad hoc robot network and describe a decision making model for a firefighters evacuation the in the end.

As an Educational institutions need to have more knowledge, in evaluating, designing and making decisions. Where from such knowledge can be obtained from the data stored in the operational activities of educational institutions databases into the data warehose, so it can be used as a support in the decision making process. Data Warehouse has a major role in the provision of strategic information that can be used to meet the needs of management in a business context. This study examines the development of the data warehouse to the data of new admissions to the STIE Binaniaga Bogor, which can dig up important information that can help retrieval strategic decision to support promotional activities at the STIE Binaniaga Bogor. The final goal of this study was to produce a design of a data warehouse that can support the needs of management in making decisions by providing strategic information on new admissions, which produces a summary of information that is accurate and useful as input to determine strategies for promotion.

Total Hip Arthroplasty has been one of the most successful surgical procedure in terms of patient outcomes and satisfaction. However, due to increase in life expectancy and the related incidence of age-dependent bone diseases, a growing number of cases of intra-operative fractures lead to revision surgery with high rates of morbidity and mortality. Surgeons choose the type of the implant, either cemented or cementless prosthesis, on the basis of the age, the quality of the bone and the general medical conditions of the patients. Generally, no quantitative measures are available to assess the intra-operative fracture risk. Consequently, the decision-making process is mainly based on surgical operators’ expertise and qualitative information obtained from imaging. Motivated by this scenario, we here propose a mechanical-supported strategy to assist surgeons in their decisions, by giving intelligible maps of the risk fracture which take into account the interplay between the actual mechanical strength distribution inside the bone tissue and its response to the forces exerted by the implant. In the presented study, we produce charts and patient-specific synthetic “traffic-light” indicators of fracture risk, by making use of ad hoc analytical solutions to predict the stress levels in the bone by means of Computed Tomography-based mechanical and geometrical parameters of the patient. We felt that if implemented in a friendly software or proposed as an app, the strategy could constitute a practical tool to help the medical decision-making process, in particular with respect to the choice of adopting cemented or cementless implant.
