Indonesian university graduates skills in creating job opportunities or entering the workforce are still low. It can be seen from the facts that the undergraduate unemployment rate is still higher than the national unemployment rate. Although entrepreneurship education has been considered as one solution to this problem, the best entrepreneurship education model has not been agreed among researchers. This study examines the application of Business Model Canvas (BMC) on enhancing student achievement and student entrepreneurial intentions and the interaction of entrepreneurial learning achievement levels and the application of BMC on entrepreneurial intentions. The method used in this research is quasi-experiment by assigning two classes of entrepreneurship courses at the Faculty of Economics, Medan State University, one class as an experimental class (BMC) and the other class as the control class. Hypothesis testing was conducted with t-test and ANOVA. The findings showed that the average entrepreneurial learning achievement of the BMC class was 12.52% higher than that of the control class. Entrepreneurial intentions of the BMC class was only 6.15% higher than that of the control class. BMC is proven to be positive and significantly improves learning achievement. The level of learning achievement is proven to be positive and it significantly increases entrepreneurial intentions. However, BMC learning has not been proven to increase entrepreneurial intentions. The results of this study are useful for entrepreneurial instructors to design learning that can increase entrepreneurial intentions.

A university plays a fundamental role in establishing and developing an entrepreneurial-oriented economy. The entrepreneurship education has been recognized very important which helps students to understand and foster entrepreneurial intention and attitude. The purpose of the present study is to examine entrepreneurship education and associated entrepreneurial intentions of students of public and private universities of Bangladesh. Few empirical studies done in Bangladesh have examined the entrepreneurial intentions of the university students. This study will fill the research gap in this respect. This study implies that university role, types of course programs influence attitude and intention and elevates the chances that students would eventually choose an entrepreneurial career. The findings of this study have policy implications in inducing more university graduates to start their own businesses.

Abstract: The emphasis on entrepreneurship by the Malaysian government clearly displays their effort in strengthening the entrepreneurial development in the country, which is expected to boost the economy by creating more jobs and generating new incomes. The idea is extended to local higher education institutions so as to nurture and to sustain entrepreneurial engagement among the students through formal entrepreneurial programs. The initiatives are expected to help in reducing graduate unemployment level in the country. Despite all the effort taken by the government, the uptake of entrepreneurship      among young minds is still low, and there is growing unemployment in the country. Thus, this study aims to determine the factors that affect entrepreneurial intentions among UiTM graduating students and the mediating effect of entrepreneurship education towards entrepreneurial intention through attitude, perceived behaviour control and self-efficacy. The sample consists of 429 UiTM students who have taken the entrepreneurship course. Factor analysis and Partial Least Squares methods were used to analyse the data. The findings reveal a significant relationship of attitude, perceived behaviour control and entrepreneurship education towards entrepreneurial intention, while self-efficacy was insignificantly related. However, the study found that entrepreneurship education partially mediates the relationship between attitude and perceived behaviour control towards entrepreneurship intention and a full mediation on self-efficacy. The findings will help the policymakers or the higher education institutes in developing a suitable policy and program in promoting entrepreneurship to the university graduates at the national level.   Keywords: Entrepreneurial intention, IBM, Partial Least Squares, TPB.

Everyone has the same opportunity to succeed by setting up a business. Through entrepreneurial intentions, it is hoped that someone can develop their potential to open a business. This study aims to determine whether entrepreneurial intentions can be influenced by entrepreneurship education, the need for achievement, creativity, and entrepreneurial self-efficacy in students of the Faculty of Economics, State University of Malang because entrepreneurial intentions are an important factor that can make someone want to set up a business.. This research is a quantitative approach using path analysis. The results showed that entrepreneurial intentions can be influenced by entrepreneurship education, achievement needs, creativity, and self-efficacy. In addition, entrepreneurial self-efficacy can act as a mediation between entrepreneurship education, achievement needs, creativity to entrepreneurial intentions.

Entrepreneurship education helps to form appropriately entrepreneurial mindsets and behaviors in students. This is not only for normal students but also students with special needs in tertiary institutions. This study aims to identify the entrepreneurial intention of students with special needs (disability) at Jakarta State University (UNJ). This research used the case study research method, where the casesare students with disabilities at UNJ who are registered as active students. Data was collected using unstructured interviews. The research revealed three core indicators of student entrepreneurial intention. These are 1) elements of intention (cognition, emotions and conations), 2) characteristics of an entrepreneur and 3) business ethics. The results of this study state that students with disabilities know about entrepreneurship (cognition) and have a desire to become an entrepreneur (emotion) and have experience in trying entrepreneurship (conations). In addition, the students with disabilities also know what needs to be prepared to become an entrepreneur such as the readiness of the risks to be faced and how to run a good business. The imbalance between job seekers and job opportunities cause an increase of unemployment rate in Indonesia. Thus make Universities try to increase entrepreneurship intention among students. Universities try to give support such as giving entrepreneurship education to students. This research examines whether entrepreneurship education has positive effects on entrepreneurial intention. Besides, this research examines whether attitudes towards entrepreneurship, perceived support and also fear of failure have effects on entrepreneurial intention among students. The data was collected using questionnaire instrument obtained from 254 respondents of Students of Management, Faculty of Economics and Business Airlangga University in Surabaya. The results of this study are expected to give some input for the University to increase the entrepreneurial intention among students.

Higher education institutions should be able to change the mindset of students who are not only as job seekers, but also job creators especially when educated unemployment in Indonesia increases every year. Entrepreneurship is one solution in tackling unemployment and poverty which will encourage national economic growth. This study examines the effect of self-efficacy and contextual environment on entrepreneurial behavior with entrepreneurial intention as an intervening variable using Theory of Planned Behavior. The subjects of this study were Semarang State University students who owned a business and joined the UNNES Student Entrepreneurship Center (UNSEC) and Himpunan Pengusaha Muda Indonesia Perguruan Tinggi (HIPMI PT) Semarang State University totaling 310 students. The results showed a direct relationship between self-efficacy and contextual environment towards entrepreneurial behavior and indirect relationships through entrepreneurial intentions. It was proved by the moderating role of entrepreneurial intention in facilitating the relationship of self-efficacy and contextual environment to student entrepreneurial behavior in accordance with the Theory of Planned Behavior. Future studies can use elements of social and demographic psychology that are more complete and involve a wider population.

The entrepreneurial intentions of Chinese students have received rapidly evolving attention, with the “mass entrepreneurship and innovation” program as a driving force, which encourages individuals to start their own business. Entrepreneurial intention, which is perceived as being a predictor of entrepreneurial behavior, has generally been explored in the existing literature on the basis of the theory of planned behavior and the intention–behavior model. Since intention is a psychological notion, it is important to investigate the motivation for developing entrepreneurial intention from a subjective perspective. The aim of this study is to identify the objective factors that determine Chinese science and engineering students’ entrepreneurial intentions, and to understand how these different factors affect their intention to become an entrepreneur. Q methodology, which is a technological combination of qualitative and quantitative research, was conducted using thirty Chinese science and engineering students, and this paper reports their individual attitudes and discourses concerning their entrepreneurial intentions. After compiling 32 Q sets of statements and performing factor analysis, three distinct types of entrepreneurs were revealed. The findings suggest that a subjective approach to entrepreneurship education should be taken to enhance science and engineering students’ entrepreneurial intentions. Some theoretical and practical implications of these findings for techno-entrepreneurship education and development are also discussed.

Purpose Entrepreneurial intention plays a crucial role in the research and application of social entrepreneurship (SE). The purpose of this paper is to investigate the influence of the factors affecting students’ intention towards social entrepreneurship (ISE). The study has taken entrepreneurial self-efficacy, along with entrepreneurial education, entrepreneurial network and perceived university support that have an impact on intentions, which instills interest amongst students in being future entrepreneurs. Design/methodology/approach Data were primarily taken from a survey of 380 university students from public and private universities in Chattogram, the business capital of Bangladesh. Students were preliminarily selected, focussing on different profiles such as male/female, age, socio-economic status, education level, university status and employment level. Initially, using factor analysis factors were analyzed and later multiple regression analysis was used to identify the relationship with ISE. Findings The study on the student reveals that four aspects significantly impacted the preference of students’ ISE. This study reinforces the influence of entrepreneurial self-efficacy, along with entrepreneurial education, as the factors contributing to aid young graduates recognizing and fostering an ISE. Entrepreneurial networks and perceived university support were found to have no association with social entrepreneurial intentions. Originality/value This paper contributes to the understanding of the factors and provides a basis for explaining factors that affect the intention of students towards SE. It can contribute to future research related to social entrepreneurial intention. Furthermore, it was concluded that forming social entrepreneurial intention is highly influenced by entrepreneurial self-efficacy and entrepreneurship education.

This research investigates the effect of entrepreneurship education on entrepreneurial intention among college students enrolling in the Department of Management, Faculty of Economics, State University of Malang. The research employed descriptive correlational design, and a number of 230 students are taken proportionate randomly as sample from 540 students enrolled in three study programs. Path analysis utilizing LISREL 8.50 for windows is used to examine relationships among variables. Research finding revealed that entrepreneurial intention is indirectly affected by entrepreneurship education, meaning that students’ entrepreneurial motivation and attitude are two important mediating variables.
