This investigates the family’s communication pattern to avoid senior high school student violence in Yogyakarta. This study employs a qualitative method taking a sample of ten people consist of students’ parents (SMAN 6 Yogyakarta, SMAN 8 Yogyakarta, SMAN 9 Yogyakarta, SMA Bopkri 2 Yogyakarta, SMA Muhammadiyah 7 Yogyakarta, and SMA Tamansiswa Yogyakarta); teachers and society figure. The results are (1) Communication pattern which is used effectively to avoid students’ violence is one way communication. In this situation parents can give advice and become a role model for their children; and (2) Communication patterns which are used innefectively to avoid students’ violence are interaction and transaction communication. It is because parents’ knowledge about the importance of interaction communication in character education is very low and the transaction communication among parents-children-third party tends to not intensive.POLA KOMUNIKASI KELUARGA DALAM MENCEGAH KENAKALAN PELAJAR SMA DI KOTA YOGYAKARTATujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pola komunikasi keluarga dalam mencegah kenakalan pelajar SMA di Kota Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dan menggunakan 10 narasumber yang mencakup wali siswa (SMAN 6 Yogyakarta, SMAN 8 Yogyakarta, SMAN 9 Yogyakarta, SMA Bopkri 2 Yogyakarta, SMA Muhammadiyah 7 Yogyakarta, dan SMA Tamansiswa Yogyakarta); wali kelas dan tokoh masyarakat. Dari hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan, dapat disebutkan bahwa (1) Pola komunikasi keluarga yang digunakan secara efektif sebagai upaya untuk mencegah kenakalan pelajar dalam penelitian ini adalah komunikasi sebagai aksi atau komunikasi satu arah dimana orang tua memberikan nasihat atau memberikan contoh secara langsung melalui perbuatan; dan (2) Pola komunikasi keluarga yang masih belum dapat dilakukan secara efektif untuk mencegah kenakalan pelajar adalah komunikasi sebagai interaksi dan komunikasi banyak arah. Hal ini disebabkan karena minimnya pengetahuan orang tua mengenai pentingnya komunikasi dua arah dalam proses penanaman pendidikan karakter seorang anak dan juga karena komunikasi banyak arah yang terjalin antara orang tua-anak-pihak ketiga cenderung tidak intens.

As a multicultural country, Indonesia has the potential to experience horizontal conflict. The conflict is usually triggered by SARA issues. Bhinneka Tunggal Ika as the motto of the state becomes forgotten. Society is divided and fragmented, fellow nation children blasphemous and hostile. If this continues, it is not impossible that the state will experience the disintegration. But, there are many ways that can be done to avoid it. One of them is digging back the local wisdom of the nation. Recitation Quran, as one part of the Indonesian local wisdom can be a part in glueing the love of the homeland, the love of diversity and the love of harmony. Knitting diversity through recitation Quran is one way to prevent the disintegration of the nation. Therefore, recitation Quran should be communicated well and correctly should be communicated well and correctly so that acceptable to the community and the national values to be conveyed through recitation Quran can be implemented. Such a thing necessarily requires the proper way of communicating so that the communication process and communication goals can be achieved. The process of communication and how to communicate will shape its own communication pattern. The communication pattern that is able to convey the purpose of recitation Quran is interesting to be studied as seen in this research. The method of this research is using qualitative method through observation, interview and documentation. Language is tool that use by human for communicate, and as tool to support them as social creature. Language is used by human every day in every situation, that make language become interesting phenomenon. During learning and teaching process that happen in class researcher find out the phenomenon that student use word “sorry” in context of asking permission not context for asking apology or expressing sympathy based on . Methodology of this research is qualitative with descriptive design. The instrument that use is observation, researcher is do observation in classroom activity on the class , and data is find from utterance that make by student during classroom activity. The result of this research most of student use word “sorry” in context of asking permission not for asking apologize. To understand the bigger concept of word sorry better to use bigger subject in research.

Career maturity is a condition that needed to choice the program in higher level study. Henceforth, the low level of career maturity in senior high school student has to be solved with the comprehensive intervention as soon as possible. The purpose of this research is to know the effectivity of Reach Your Dreams Training and career counseling for improving career maturity in senior high school student. This research used Solomon Six Group Design. Subjects of this research are 42 senior high school students with average level of career maturity who are divided into two groups given Reach Your Dreams Training, two groups given career counseling, and two control groups. According to the result, the conclusion of this research is Reach Your Dreams Training and Counseling Career can improve career maturity level in senior high school students effectively. It is caused by the effect of Reach Your Dreams Training and career counseling, and not caused by the effect of pretest.

Family communication does not occur randomly, but it is patterned by a particular scheme through two communication behavior: a conversation orientation and conformity orientation. The purpose of this study was to analyze communication patterns and typology of the family in adolescents from high schools in Bogor. The research was conducted by survey at six high schools in Bogor. Total respondents were 372 students, consisting of 206 females and 166 males aged 15-18 years old. The result: as much as 50.5% adolescents enter a high category of the orientation conversation and 49.5% as low categories. In conformity orientation, mostly teenagers (73.7%) categorized as high and 26.3% as low categories. The study also charted four types of families, those are 46.2% of consensual (high on conversational and conformity level); 4.3% of pluralist (high in conversation but low in conformity); 27.4% of protective (conversation level is low but high conformity) and 22.0% of non-interventionist (laissez faire) (low in conversational and conformity level). By gender, females are more often to have conversations with family and have higher conformiity than males.
