Introduction. The article provides a comparative analysis of artistic expressiveness means inherent to the Yakut Olonkho and Tuvan epics. The point is that poetics of the epic work Nurgun Bootur the Swift by P. A. Oyunsky recreated on the basis of folk tales has actually remained understudied, and this paper fills the gap. Goals. The work — as part of Yakut folklore studies — makes the first attempt to consider poetics and the system of artistic techniques of the Olonkho Nurgun Bootur the Swift in comparison to Tuvan heroic epics. Methods. The study employs a comprehensive approach that includes comparative historical and typological research methods. Results. The comparative analysis concludes that P. Oyunsky’s Nurgun Bootur the Swift is based on the principles of traditional folk epic, and reveals parallels to Tuvan heroic narratives. Special attention is paid to the means of artistic expression — hyperbole and comparison. There are functional semantic dependence and structural unity indicating a typological similarity of the epic works examined. The vivid language of Tuvan epic narratives and that of P. Oyunsky’s Olonkho are explicitly characterized by elements observed in heroic epic proper, and the poetic analysis shows the Yakut text is distinguished by artistic completeness. So, P. Oyunsky revived the Yakut heroic epic, enriched its conceptual/thematic essentials — to strengthen the unique poetic form.

The article examines demonological (zoomorphic, anthropomorphic and zooanthropomorphic) images based on the oral monument of the Karachai-Balkarian folklore of the heroic epic "Narts". Characteristic examples of these images are given, who are protagonists in the texts of the spiritual heritage of the studied ethnos. The relevance of the work is due to the fact that the types of demonic characters of the Karachai-Balkarian Nart epic were discussed in a number of research works, but this issue has not yet been sufficiently studied. To reveal some of the characteristic features of antagonists of epic heroes, when writing the work, textological, descriptive, comparative, structural-typological and structural-semantic research methods were used. The article provides a comparative analysis of the anthropomorphic images in mythological customs of the geographically neighbouring peoples of the Caucasus. The materials of the research were the texts published in the 1994 academic edition "Narts" (compiled by Khadzhieva T.M.), which contains records of oral stories of Karachai and Balkarian storytellers collected during the field expeditions. The category of presented demonic characters of the Karachai-Balkarian Nart epic includes, first of all, "emegenle" − "giants", "saryuekle, zhelmauuzla" − "snakes, many-headed dragons", "almostu" − "almasts, female anthropomorphic creatures", " gubula "−" spiders "," jinle "−" jinn "," obur, kurtha "−" old woman-witch ", living in a world parallel to the Narts. The folklore texts describe in some detail the appearance, habitat, physical and mental capabilities of zoomorphic, anthropomorphic and zooanthropomorphic images of the studied epic. Mythological heroes carry destructive force, which leads to their incompatibility in the world with the Nart heroes, who in their turn are the creators. Therefore, a constant enmity appears between them (the struggle between good and evil). The analysis showed that thanks to the mythical images available in oral works, the epic of "Narta" is filled with rich imagination and picturesque content.

Abstract:Karel Štrekelj (1859–1912), a prominent Slovenian folklorist and philologist, published among other a scientific edition of Slovenian Folk Songs and was also the first to introduce the term »folklore« to Slovenian humanities. He focused his scientific attention on dialects, etymology, historical grammar, and history of literature but his greatest contribution was to the field of folklore studies and ethnology. While he published the collection of folk songs, the manuscripts of folk tales have remained unpublished. These tales had been sent to him by collectors from different parts of the Slovenian ethnic territory. Although Štrekelj did intend to publish them in a critical edition of Slovenian folktales and legends his untimely death prevented him from starting to organize this extensive material. He already created some basic criteria for such an arduous task, and intended to contact his Czech colleague Jiři Polívka in Prague for further instructions. In comparison with other major yet older collections of this type, for example those published by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, Aleksander Nikolaevič Affanasev, and Vuk Karadžić it may be said that Slovenian folktales from Štrekelj's legacy are unquestionably of great importance for the Slovenian nation though.

The article contains the results of the analysis of metaphors architectonics in fiction on the example of the story “Systema sobak” (‘Dogs System’) by V. Tokareva. The article begins with a brief presentation of the modern scientific paradigm which is defined as the post-non-classical one (according to V. S. Styopin) and as the stage of neopospositivism. The latter is characterized by holistic and integrative character. The article also mentions different approaches to the study of metaphor (tropic, interactive and cognitive) and specifically specifies the study of metaphor in connection with the artistic text. The aim of the analysis of Tokareva’s text was to identify “hidden” metaphors. The following research methods were used: textological, contextual, conceptual and combinatorial. The article on the specific material proves the need for a comprehensive approach of integrative nature and demonstrates the possibility of its application. The analysis made it possible to consider the surface metaphor reflected in the story title (LOVE is the “host – dog” relationship) and analyze its deployment in the text. It also allowed to reveal “hidden” metaphors: LOVE is height, LOVE is chemistry, LOVE is water, LOVE is light, LOVE is multicolor, brightness, beauty. The given metaphors implicitly presented in the text form the “general” metaphor of a “higher” level: LOVE is ELEMENT OF NATURE, NOT SUBJECT TO MAN. In the end, it is concluded that in the sphere of fiction metaphor is not only a “condensed plot”. It is also something that is not verbalized in the text but is there beyond the text being “dissolved” in the narration. It means that metaphor can also be considered as a “unfolded plot”, which is not always and not necessarily having a specific verbal embodiment in a certain text in the form of a (fixed) expression.

Introduction. The epic narrative of the early Baga-Tsokhor cycle (1853-1862), being heroic in nature, is based on archaic motifs which can also be traced through the topic of military conflicts. Goals. The study aims to consider the main sections of military conflicts, and the following tasks be solved thereto: typological identification of a hero (‘forefather hero’ or ‘warrior hero’); designation of functions attributed to the war horse and weapons; delineation of combat forms and symbolic epic backgrounds. Materials and Methods. The paper analyzes texts of the early Baga-Tsokhor cycle of the Kalmyk Jangar epic. The work employs comparative, textual, and analytical research methods. Results. In fact, plots and motifs of this topic are a symbiosis of archaic and heroic lines. Prologues to the songs of the Cycle are formed as part of a mythological interpretation of events, and the plots of the songs — although devoted to exploits of the heroes, which determines a military, heroic nature of the cycle — are still dependent on magical mythological motifs. The warrior hero still possesses rudiments of the image typical for the first-born (‘forefather’) hero, which explains the absence of important links of the heroic epic, e.g. motifs of miraculous birth and heroic childhood. The war horse and weapons are still destined, and the latter also serve as an accommodation for the external soul of the hero. The epic background is also twofold: while the prologue describes the primordial era, the plot deals with the time of consolidation of various ethnic groups. Conclusions. It can be presumed that the Baga-Tsokhor cycle of the epic reflects a transition from a ‘small’ epic form to a ‘large’ one, an evolution from the original core of the archaic epic to the final ‘concentric’ cyclization of the heroic narrative.

The article focuses on the problem of transformation of a musical language, the correlation between an esthetic guideline, an invention, a composition technique and a language. The author describes the two strategies of life and work of Pierre Boulez which allowed him to gain significant cultural authority, and enumerates the persons who had influenced Boulez’s esthetics. In a broad esthetic and philosophical context, the author shows the turn from the technique to the language in esthetical and theoretical texts of Pierre Boulez; describes the three concepts of the language, the period of synthesis following the period of rejection, and Boulez’s concerns about the problems of music perception. In the context of Boulez’s thesis about the unity of an invention, a technique and a language, the author considers the piece for viola “Trema” (1981) by Heinz Holliger, Boulez’s adherent. The author uses a comprehensive approach as a combination of elements of comparative analysis, musical phenomenology (focusing of mind on music structures), and hermeneutics (the process of understanding, interpreting). The research material is of a methodical importance for modern educational courses of theory and history of music. The author arrives at the conclusion that Boulez, as well as Kant, directs the concept of art towards Aristotle's category of “poiesis” as “craft and creation”; focuses on the overcoming of the esthetics of rejection (preceding the classic-romantic tradition) in Boulez’s turn to the period of “synthesis” which includes not only the turn from a technique to a language, but also electroacoustic “sound manufacturing”.  The following aspects of Hollinger’s “Trema” are considered for the first time: the idea, the principles of new solo music, the new technique. The author arrives at the conclusion about “Trema” belonging to the “multilayered music epoch” and that radical rethinking of a musical language sharpens communication.

The Russo-Georgia war in 2008 and the conflict in Ukraine in 2014 galvanized the countries, which are namely squeezed between NATO and Russia into considering their strategies again. The paper examines Russia’s efforts to maintain its influence in its “near abroad” in the face of NATO’s enlargement. It principally focuses on identifying the challenges particular countries face as obstacles to NATO accession. The arguments raised in the paper prove that, the primary reasons of Russia-Georgia War and Ukraine conflict are associated with these countries’ NATO aspiration. An argument regarding the Alliance’s reluctance to actively engage in partner nations is also presented. The objective of the study is to consider the repercussions of NATO aspiration and introduce the real prospects of cooperation with NATO. The research methods primarily used in the book are comparative analysis and synthesis.

This article analyzes the results of a sociological survey, which con- firmed the relevance of the issues of accessibility of providing medicines to various categories of citizens. The purpose of this study was to study the attitude of citizens to the existing system, as well as to identify the strengths and weaknesses of preferential security. The main research methods were: the method of studying and generalizing experience; comparative analysis; sociological survey; statistical. According to the presented data, the distribution of answers to questions is determined in % depending on the total number of respondents, including in the dynamics for the analyzed period (2019-2021). This study served as a tool for studying the key problems in obtaining preferential medicines (waiting times for a doctor to issue a prescription, the absence of a prescription in a pharmacy, the refusal of a doctor to issue medicines, etc.). Thus, the results of the conducted sociological survey showed that the LAW system plays a significant role in the structure of healthcare. At the same time, first of all, it is necessary to carry out additional work with various age groups of the popu- lation in the framework of providing information about the possibilities of the additional preferential security system.
