Consulting focused on comprehending organizational problems and breaking the patterns of their managerial solution is in demand in a chaotic, dynamic world. This counseling tool is able to counter the uncertainty of the external environment with a clear understanding of the or ganizational event. The aim of the paper is to investigate philosophical consulting as an intellectual tool for “problem hacking” in Human Management in organization.Theoretical basis of the research: the analytical approach to human resource management, the ideas of the international movement of philosophical practice, the edifying philosophy of R. Rorty, ideas of “problem hacking”. Research methods used in the work: philosophical (conceptual) analysis, decomposition, conceptualization.Results. Philosophical consulting is justifed as an analytical and value-based tool of facilitation of “problem hacking” in Human Management in the organization, the features of philosophical consulting as a management consulting are revealed. With the purpose of hacking problems at the level of foundations — meanings and values — according to each stage of “problem hacking”, the function of facilitation of philosophical consulting is revealed. HRMproblems are classifed into process groups: “cooperation”, “change and development”, “measurement and evaluation”. Typical HR-challenge are identifed — the feld of potential conflicts. The concept of HR-call is formulated and elements of the problem solution construction are developed: philosophical idea of the answer to HR-challenge and relevant managerial methods of realization.Application of value-analytical and design tools of philosophical consulting to “hacking” organizational problems — the company’s response to the challenges of the VUCA world, “defcit of meaning” in Russian companies, the employers’ demand for problem-solving skills in the next fve years. The limitations of the research are identifed.

Information about the external environment and organizational processes are among the most worthwhile input for business intelligence (BI). Nowadays, companies have plenty of information in structured or textual forms, either from external monitoring or from the corporative systems. In the last years, the structured part of this information stock has been massively explored by means of data-mining (DM) techniques (Wang, 2003), generating models that enable the analysts to gain insights on the solutions for organizational problems. On the text-mining (TM) side, the rhythm of new applications development did not go so fast. In an informal poll carried out in 2002 (Kdnuggets), just 4% of the knowledge-discovery-from-databases (KDD) practitioners were applying TM techniques. This fact is as intriguing as surprising if one considers that 80% of all information available in an organization comes in textual form (Tan, 1999).

In this paper an integrated approach to a problem related to minimization of gas supplier’s reputation losses connected with accidents on a gas pipeline and disruption of gas delivery to a consumer with the help of smart contracts is stated. Nowadays analysts and methodologists of pipeline companies perform assessment of expected and actual material expenses at an accident on GTS objects. Account and analytics of reputation losses either isn’t conducted in all, or is implemented in the frame of separate business processes which aren’t integrated into processes of enterprise budget’s management and planning. Such situation is disconcertingly. In the era of globalization the cost of a company and its business reputation depends significantly on the attitude towards it in society. In Europe and USA the major oil and gas companies invest huge money in increasing of their positive image in the eyes of population. Any significant accident which has happened in unforeseen time and unsuccessful place can completely destroy reputation of any company. Modern corporate IT-decisions allow unite a number of data flows in the uniform analytical module now. Information collected in such modules in Gazprom PJSC helps to solve optimizing problems both within planning of material inputs, and within accounting of reputation expenses. In this work a theoretical model for assessment of reputation losses at an accident on a linear part of a gas transmission system (GTS) of Gazprom PJSC is given. Modern theoretical models for definition of function of supplier’s reputation losses have been used. The review of possible application for SAP decisions and Blockchain technology in current business processes of Gazprom JSC in the frame of the problem solution is given. For a clear understanding how to integrate this decision into existing business processes the graphic description of the decision work scheme is given. The principles of this approach can be applied not only in working processes of Gazprom PJSC, but also adapted according to other pipeline companies’ needs. Possible fast introduction of cryptoruble in Russia can offer new prospects for mass introduction of this tool in the context of smart contracts.

Investigation of business enterprise information environmentRenata Matkevičienė SummaryContemporary society and market request from modern organizations qualitative products and services, as well it demands for skills to understand demands and requirements that are changing rapidly. All these conditions call for claims for life quality. Organizations should make effective environmental scanning and evaluation of it, as well they should have an ability to adjust to changes in it.The aim of the article is to analyze factors of environment that have impact on effectiveness of organization activities and setting the set of organizational actions that are used in informational environmental scanning. In the article there are presented several main aspects of the analyzed item: organization as an open system, interaction of organization with external environment, main factors of external environment, that impact organizational activities. There are discussed works of Lithuanian and foreign authors on business organization external environment scanning, as well there are presented results of Lithuanian business enterprises survey.Talking about modern organization there should be taken to account several important aspects of discussion: first of all there should be mentioned that contemporary organization is acting in social environment that is impact by humans, as well as by external social forces; second, contemporary organizations could be analyzed in different aspects based on definition of organization. Some organizations could be defined as an effective mechanism with bureaucratic governance, with clear role of managerial personnel and even more clear understanding or importance and set of organizational structure.Wideness of definition of contemporary organization implies understanding of business enterprise as complex, miscellaneous and open system. Based on the results of survey presented in the article there are made supposition that set of metaphors for organization depends on executives of organization, and partly on market place and character of organizational activities.Definition of modern organization implies duality of organizational activities: 1) organizational orientation toward external activities (possibilities and skills to evaluate possible influence of external factors to organizational activities and to plan possible reaction to external conditions), and 2) organizational orientation toward internal factors and activities (possibilities and skills of modern organization to overhaul internal activities and possibilities to react and to adapt to changes in environment). Understanding of business organization as an open system allows and indicates organizational orientation not only toward aims, tasks, activities, but organizational behavior in external environment too. External environment of business enterprise is quite complicate: it involves clients, customers, competitors, suppliers, professional unions, public and governmental institutions. As well those groups of external environment could be formed in 1) contextual or target groups, and 2) general audience. Modern organization and its activities mainly depend on informational and communication skills that warrant possibilities of external environment scanning. Informational environment scanning is critical for modern organization because it provides information on organizational positions, clients, their needs, general competitive environment. External environment scanning in business enterprise provides information from various sectors and ensures organizational learning possibilities that are substantial for modern knowledge seeking organization: for long term planning, for decision making and for setting organizational development and growth.

Many decisions on IS investments have made during the past 20 years but yet, the extant literature does not provide a clear understanding of the phenomenon of IS outsourcing. This chapter answers two main questions relevant to researchers and practitioners: 1) What are the main findings so far in IS outsourcing literature? 2) What do we still need to learn? Through a comprehensive review of the literature, the authors offer systematization of the body of knowledge on outsourcing, its implications on firms’ boundaries, and the theoretical challenges. The MIS perspective appears to be very present, both by considering technology as part of the external environment and by exploring IS and IT as areas for important sourcing decision. In conclusion, implications for managers are drawn.

Problem-solving skills is necessary to be mastered by students to help them in solving the problems of their daily life in the future. The purpose of this study was to map the student problem-solving skills after inquiry learning in Physics subject, impulse, and momentum in class X SMAN 1 Prambanan, Yogyakarta. Experimental research model with one-shot case study design was used in this study. Data collection was performed through essays at the end of the learning process. The results of the mapping show that students have different problem-solving skills levels at each stage. At the stage of problem identification, students were in a very good category. At the stage of planning the problem solution and problem-solving implementation, the students were in a good category, while in results evaluation, the students were in a fairly good category. The result of this study can contribute to giving the point of view to the teacher about students' problem-solving skills level based on the indicators as well as giving the additional information as a literature in the topic of students’ problem-solving skills after inquiry learning.

The article studies linguistic representation of the concept TOTALITARIANISM in George Orwell’s novel “1984”. This concept is the key one in the novel since the description of the totalitarian regime specificity and operation can be considered the message the author intends to convey in the dystopia. The author shows how totalitarianism works, which mechanisms put it into action and help to maintain the control over citizens who have to exist in the country where tyranny reigns. The conceptual analysis of the novel’s key concept reveals the language means used by the writer to reflect the totalitarian regime to the fullest. Due to the fact that the totalitarian government never openly admits that they want total control, Orwell also represents the concept TOTALITARIANISM through other concepts and their verbalization, viz. the concepts POWER, FEAR, PROPAGANDA, and SURVEILLANCE. They are associated with the features typical of the society ruled by totalitarianism, i.e. all-pervading power (the concept POWER), citizens’ constant fear of being punished by the Party (the concept FEAR), unlimited day-and-night control and ideology testing (the concept SURVEILLANCE), imposition of the only “correct” idea and denial of any other views (the concept PROPAGANDA). All these subconcepts are represented through their direct nomination as well as their derivational paradigm and collocations with words which activate the corresponding concept. Therefore, the comprehensive study of the novel and clear understanding of its messages made possible through the conceptual analysis can be viewed as a chance to see a warning for both contemporary and future generations.

It is thought that calcium and/or magnesium may play important roles in polymorphonuclear (PMN) leukocyte functions such as chemotaxis, adhesion and phagocytosis. Yet, a clear understanding of the biological roles of these ions has awaited the development of techniques which permit a selective alteration of intracellular ion concentrations. Recently, treatment of cells with the ionophore A23187 has been used to alter intracellular divalent cation concentrations. This ionophore is a lipid soluble antibiotic produced by Streptomyces chartreusensis that complexes with both calcium and magnesium (3) and is believed to carry these ions across biological membranes (4). Biochemical investigations of human PMN leukocytes demonstrate that cells treated with A23187 and extracellular calcium release their lysosomal enzymes into the extracellular medium without rupturing and releasing their soluble cytoplasmic enzymes (5,6). The aim of the present study and and a companion report (7) was to investigate the structural changes that occur in leukocytes during ionophore-induced lysosomal enzyme release.

Microprobe analysis of biological tissue is now in the end phase of transition from instrumental and technique development to applications pertinent to questions of physiological relevance. The promise, implicit in early investigative efforts, is being fulfilled to an extent much greater than many had predicted. It would thus seem appropriate to briefly report studies exemplifying this, ∿. In general, the distributions of ions in tissue in a preselected physiological state produced by variations in the external environment is of importance in elucidating the mechanisms of exchange and regulation of these ions.
