Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) require a combination of organizational and individual skills to grow more rapidly in international markets. The question is whether there is an ideal combination to compete in the present (exploitation orientation) or to prepare to compete in the future (exploration orientation), and whether managerial cognition plays a role on determining international growth. The analysis of Portuguese manufacturing SMEs suggests that the manager's cognitive systems do not have an overall influence on the growth of foreign sales to total sales (FSTS), but the two cognitive systems (experiential and analytic) have a different influence on international exploitation and exploration. International exploration and exploitation mediate the relationship between the latter variables. This study contributes to a better understanding of the role that organizational ambidexterity plays on the SMEs' speed of internationalization and how the manager's cognitive systems influence this organizational orientation.

The paper identifies the enablers of value co-creation (VCC) in the healthcare context which in result enhances service delivery capability. A 45-item questionnaire was circulated among service providers in the healthcare system, including doctors, nurses, and system staff all over India. A cross-sectional research design was used to assess the research's framework. A total of 294 valid responses were received. Validity and reliability analyses were performed using SPSSv23 and AMOSv22, and the hypotheses were tested using structural equation modeling. Results reveal that organizational orientation, technology integration and internal service quality (ISQ) are the enablers of value co-creation in healthcare services context from the internal customer perspective. Future researchers may explore the inter-relationships among the enablers of VCC process. The study provides practitioners with suggestions to facilitate service delivery capability by leveraging organizational orientation, technology integration, and ISQ in the VCC process.

The article is devoted to the study of the features of the use of modern process technologies for managing business projects in the context of transformational changes in the national economic environment. Modern conditions for conducting economic activities force enterprises to resort to the use of more progressive tools for the implementation of organizational measures of a project or program nature. The article examines the main international organizations that formed the theoretical basis for the development of project management, identifies the main types of project management technologies in accordance with the nature of their target orientation, in particular, management technologies of qualification, specialized, object and organizational orientation. Provided a detailed description of the key technologies of process management of business projects, which are actively used in the economic practice of modern enterprises, namely Waterfall, Agile, Scrum and Kanban, in the context of their key essential characteristics, as well as inherent advantages and disadvantages in practical application. However, taking into account the specific features of each of the process management methods of business projects, as well as the high level of influence of external factors, which is observed in modern market conditions, business entities will certainly face a number of systemic problems associated with ensuring the effective implementation of these management technologies and maximizing the results obtained from such actions. The authors of the article identify and reveal in detail the main problems faced by domestic enterprises in the process of implementing project management measures caused by the influence of destructive factors of the external economic environment. An expanded list of recommendatory measures has been formed to overcome the designated management problems, both from the standpoint of effectively countering the complex macroeconomic and post-pandemic economic realities of functioning, and with respect to the specifics of the selection of certain project management techniques.

The article uses the socio-cultural methodology and comparative studies to examine the results of the transformation of national higher school systems in the former USSR on the eve of the post-Soviet thirtieth anniversary. It is established that over the past decades of the post–Soviet transformation, the higher school of 15 States of the former USSR has gone through two main stages: the first was primarily a stage of structural changes, and the second was integration into the European higher education space. A classification of the realities of organizational orientation of higher education systems is proposed, dividing them into westernized (the Baltic countries, Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan), systems with specific educational balances (Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia), and outsider countries (Turkmenistan, Tajikistan). It is shown that during this period unique cases of transformation of national higher schools emerged. They evolved from divergence in the direction of convergence through E-education and global unification. The purpose of the study was to show that in the near future post-Soviet structures of higher education will have to respond primarily to universal post-industrial challenges based on the identification of stages of higher education evolution.

ABSTRACT Innovations in organizations often arise through the efforts of intrapreneurs—entrepreneurial-oriented employees who typically work outside of their day-to-day job responsibilities. Currently, little research has addressed this important source of innovation. Using Innovation Value Chain theory, we theorize that individual, organizational, and innovation-specific factors influence intrapreneurial innovation, operationalized as managerial accountants' intentions to champion the adoption of an IT innovation within their organizations. Additionally, we consider how information system complexity may influence these factors. We test our model using a structural equation model (SEM) with 320 management accountants. Perceptions of organizational orientation toward innovation and of the technology are significant determinants of individuals' intention to champion the adoption of continuous monitoring. Individual inclination to innovate is not significant in the presence of the other two factors. We also find that system complexity lowers perceptions of the technology's benefits, thus inhibiting intention to champion.

There is a growing body of evidence suggesting that economic crisis is a preeminent stressor (i.e., economic stress) that may worsen working conditions and expose individuals to negative acts at work (i.e., workplace bullying). Following an occupational health perspective that considers contextual factors as risk factors for workplace bullying, this study aims to examine the mediation effects of organizational orientation to employee welfare in the economic stress-workplace bullying relationship. A cross-sectional study with the participation of 1004 Italian workers from several organizations was conducted. Our results indicate that economic stress (composed of two dimensions: fear of the economic crisis and perceived non-employability) is associated with workplace bullying through the total mediation of organizational orientation to employee welfare. These results have relevant implications for psychosocial risk assessment in turbulent times.

The Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) sector has proven resilient, when the economic crisis in 1998, only the SME sector survived the collapse of the economy, while the larger sector fell by the crisis. The Role of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) as an economic movement, its existence is the engine of growth for the growth and development of new entrepreneurs and the increasing performance of SMEs. However, SMEs still face obstacles in terms of technical expertise, competence, entrepreneurship and management as well. Furthermore, the problem faced is limited access to productive resources such as raw materials, capital, technology, market facilities and information. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of entrepreneurial attitudes and market orientation on learning in improving business performance of SMEs themselves. This research model consists of three hypotheses with four variables namely entrepreneurial attitude, market orientation and organizational learning on business performance. The data used is 82 SMEs in Tangerang City using the Structural Equation Modeling analysis tool in the Smart PLS program. The results of data analysis prove that all proposed hypotheses can be accepted. So it can be concluded that business performance is influenced by three factors, both directly and indirectly, namely organizational orientation, market orientation and entrepreneurial attitudes.

Purpose There is an increasing interest in the role of business orientations in relation to why organizations vary in e-marketing adoption. Nevertheless, there is still scant evidence on electronic marketing orientation (EMO) within the Small and Medium-sized Enterprise (SMEs) context. This paper aims to shed light on the key factors that affect the degree of e-marketing adoption among SMEs from an organizational orientation perspective. Design/methodology/approach The study uses a cross-sectional survey of just over 135 European SMEs. The constructs are measured using multi-item indicators to capture the underlying theoretical domains. Findings The results show that EMO in SMEs is a high order construct that consists of three main components, principally: management beliefs, initiation and implementation activities. The degree of EMO is primarily affected by perceived relative advantage and customer pressure. Research limitations/implications The study focuses on for-profit SMEs in developed economies. Future researchers may replicate this study using qualitative methods in different contexts (i.e. developing countries) across several technologies and platforms (i.e. websites, internet of things, mobile applications and social media networks). Originality/value This study further extends the literature on EMO and provides answers to the questions related to the variation in SMEs’ e-marketing adoption. Practitioners can apply the EMO construct to evaluate their orientation towards e-marketing, and most importantly, to take the required remedial action to improve their performance in digital commerce.
