Background and Objectives: Research into the rates of burnout among nonclinical workers is nonexistent at medical education centers (MECs). The first goal of this study was to explore the prevalence of burnout among nonclinical faculty and staff working at a local MEC. The second goal was to identify predictors of burnout using job satisfaction dimensions—supervision, coworkers, contingency rewards, and nature of work. Methods: The study included a convenience sample of 95 nonclinical faculty and staff working at a local MEC. Data from these workers were collected between December 2016 and January 2017. The Abbreviated Maslach Burnout Inventory (AMBI) was used to measure burnout while a modified Spector’s Job Satisfaction Survey (JSS) was used to measure participants’ job satisfaction. The authors correlated the dimensions of the AMBI and JSS. They also conducted multiple regression analysis using the four dimensions of JSS to determine predictors of participant burnout. Results: The data showed that 1% of the 95 respondents reported high burnout and 35% reported medium burnout on the scale. Correlation coefficient showed that job satisfaction and burnout strongly and negatively correlated (r[93]=-.66; P<.001). Multiple regression analysis showed that nature of work (β=-.49) and coworkers (β=-.30) were significant predictors of burnout (R=0.74; F[4, 90]=26.81; P<.001). Conclusions: Nonclinical workers at a local MEC were generally satisfied with their job and showed a moderate degree of burnout. Compared to the general population, our sample reported less burnout.

Grooming successful leaders is more important now than ever for the public sector. Thus, to groom potential future leaders, the organization not only needs a succession planning program, but also commitment from the leaders. This paper analyzes the influence of leadership style characteristics on preparing future leaders through succession planning programs in Malaysia’s public sector. Four dimensions of transformational leadership styles were used which included idealized influence, inspirational motivation, individualized consideration, and intellectual stimulation. This study employed the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire and the effective Succession Planning and Management Questionnaire which were administered to 394 public servants from Malaysia’s public sector. Data was analyzed using multiple regression analysis. The results of the multiple regression analysis demonstrated that individualized influence was the main predictor of succession planning programs. Therefore, it is crucial for leaders to continue observing and modifying their leadership style(s) and behavior to be effective leaders.

This research focuses upon understanding whether the group factors will serve as predictors and explain the variance in individual's job and life satisfaction. A purposive sampling was adopted for the selection of 475 employees from the four different firms having global operations. A structured questionnaire was distributed amongst respondents and data were analyzed with hierarchical stepwise multiple regression analysis in order to assess the extent of variance in job satisfaction and life satisfaction. The results of the analysis indicate that the dimensions of group factors emerged as significant predictors of job satisfaction and life satisfaction in the diverse organizations.

The job involvement of the individual seems to be potentially fundamental to the satisfaction of certain salient psychological needs that could lead to positive organizational implications. This study investigates the predictiveness of job involvement of 375 professionals in the pharmacy (n = 200) and accountancy (n = 175) occupations by means of Multiple Regression Analysis through personality characteristics and job satisfaction. A number of significant but weak relationships are reported varying between 1.29% and 9.85% common variance. Job involvement is predicted reasonably well for the total sample (19.35%) and the sub-samples of professionals (11.01% and 24.71% respectively).

For many Christians spirituality and sexuality are kept in separate compartments of life, limiting both spiritual formation and adult sexual development. This study explored a concept of sacred sexuality, how it might fit into adult sexual development, how it might be expressed across path preferences, and its association with sexual satisfaction. A nonrandom convenience sample of adults was recruited to measure the relationship and strength between the prevalence of sacred qualities during sexual episodes and sexual satisfaction using a multiple regression analysis. It was determined that sacred qualities uniquely predicted a significant portion (12%) of sexual satisfaction after accounting for dyadic adjustment. This study can assist clinicians and spiritual directors in advancing the sexual welfare of their communities, leading to a sexuality that is truly salt and light in the world.
