Mathematical reasoning uses a logical mindset in analyzing a problem that will eventually be marked by concluding activity on the problem. Someone who has good reason, will certainly be careful in acting and deciding something. The material content on the calculus is the material that exists at the secondary school level which will become the field of teaching the prospective master of math teacher bachelor. The reasoning ability studied influences student learning in the future as it applies to advanced courses, for example in the ability of proof will always be used in the course of differential equations, algebraic structure, vector analysis, real analysis, etc. While as a teacher candidate who will teach at the secondary school level, then this reasoning ability becomes one of the achievements of mathematics learning for high school students, therefore teachers who teach it must have good reasoning ability. Error analysis is very important to evaluate and reflect on the problem structure as well as on the treatment in learning in order to improve the reasoning ability.

Abstract The planning, implementation and results of the first edition of the Molecular School are presented, as the first pre-university school project held in Portugal. This is not, however, a strictly Portuguese project, since it can be replicated in other countries at the secondary school level, with minor adjustments. Herein, the pilot edition of Molecular School is detailed and discussed, where 36 secondary school students have participated. The plan for the second edition, to be held in the first semester of 2021, with the confirmed participation of around 100 students, is further presented. Briefly, the project is divided in two modules: theoretical and laboratory work. These were prepared in a complementary way and performed to achieve the same purpose: deliver a wider vision of what chemistry really is. Hence, the classes were designed having in mind the applications that chemistry has in our everyday life, in the different academic research fields and in industry. A better preparation and training at the laboratory level was also a goal of this project. The enthusiasm, happiness and the motivation shown by the students, and their eagerness to participate in the future editions of the Molecular School, were clear signs of this project success.

The 80 teachers (40 male and 40 female) were chosen as a study sample proportionate from the 17 higher secondary schools. The collected data were statistically analyzed using descriptive statistics frequency and percentages with Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) software. The demographic characteristic of respondents shows that the vast majority of teachers have a graduate degree, and half of the teachers belong to the 25-50 age category and have up to 10 years experience, respectively. The teachers’ response indicated that students of higher secondary schools have confidence in asking and answering questions.

This research aims to examine the metaphors on the concepts of reading and listening of the secondary school students and is based on phenomenology. 390 randomly selected secondary school students participated in this study in the 2016–2017 academic year in Turkey. The study includes all the grades (5, 6, 7, & 8th) at the secondary school level. “Reading is like ..................., because .....................”, “Listening is like ..............., because ..................” were the two sentences given to the students and they were asked to fill in the blanks. The data were analyzed by the content analysis. The students created 385 metaphors about the concept of reading and 329 metaphors about the concept of listening. Metaphors on the concept of reading were divided into 11 categories: A source of knowledge/learning, development, necessity, imagination, life, finding peace, sincerity, boredom/suffocation, eternity, guidance, enjoyment. Metaphors on the concept of listening were divided into 9 categories: A source of knowledge/learning, necessity, imagination, life, finding peace, communication, boredom, guidance, enjoyment. Modern technology has become an integral part of education field. Undeniably, the use of multimedia technology has a major impact on teaching and learning (T&L) process of the new generation. This article focuses on designing and developing a mobile learning application of Malay vocabulary for lower secondary school level. The design and development of the application called “Kuasa Kosa Kata” (3K henceforth) was based on a novel entitled “Sejambak Bakti”. The context of this study is closely related to game-based learning (GBL) method in the 3K application that encourages independent learning among the targeted students. Designing the 3K application was based on a storyboard for the idea and story-making whilst the development of it was done using Adobe Flash. The data on participants’ comments and opinions on the learning application were qualitatively gathered from semi-structured interviews. As conclusion, focus is on the importance of game-based learning implementation in the development of mobile learning application. It is hoped that use of 3K application as teaching material will boost the mastery of Malay Language vocabulary among lower secondary school students.

This study was conducted to improve the academic achievement of students in the subject of mathematics at the secondary school level through the application of multiple intelligences theory-based activities at the secondary school level. The researcher used a true experimental design in this study. The population of the study comprised of all secondary school students of district Bannu and 60 students were randomly selected as a sample of study who were further divided(based on pre-test score) into two equivalent groups (Control and Experimental). The experimental group was taught through MIT-based activities, while the control group was taught through the traditional method of teaching. This treatment lasted for eight weeks.  At the end of the procedure, a post-test was conducted to find out its outcome. The data obtained was analyzed by SPSS. To compare the achievements of both classes, researchers used the Independent Sample t-test and the Paired Sample t-test. To find out its effect size, Cohens'd was used. Results showed that the experimental group taught through multiple intelligence theory-based exercises has good academic achievements as compared to the results control group taught through the conventional method of teaching.
