The paper aims at identifying metaphorization of quantitative lexemes as a basic means to form quantifiers. The research objective is to develop a classification of qualitative parameters for the Italian and French quantifiers. In particular, a structural approach is used, based on such methods of material analysis as the comparative-typological method, contextual analysis, and the method of lexicographic definitions. The authors pay attention to the identification of qualitative parameters, a set of properties that characterizes the quantifiers under study. All identified parameters are analysed in a comparative manner. The authors have pointed to such parameters as deicticity, statics / dynamics, connotation, homogeneity / heterogeneity, simultaneity / sequence.

The aim of the study was to systematize syntactically indivisible utterances of disagreement in the Belarusian, Ukrainian, Czech and Bulgarian languages. The goal was achieved by using the linguistic comparison method, contextual analysis, elements of component analyss of words semantics, techniques of generalization, interpretation and classification. As a result, a classification of disagreement utterances was created, and the classification was presented in the form of a table.

The article presents the results of the work on the description of the author's philosophical terminological system by N.F. Fedorov and analyzes the basic types of N.F. Fedorov philosophical terms and focuses on their creation methods. The basic principles of the internal organization of the author's philosophical terminological system are stated, its field character is justified. The ideas of the terminological system are substantiated, the core and the periphery are separately characterized. To identify key terms, methods of contextual analysis, frequency, corpus linguistics are used. To characterize the terms, linguistic methods for studying the following terms are used: componential analysis, combinatorial analysis, definitional analysis, and also a method for constructing paradigms. A general thematic classification of special vocabulary is proposed. The analysis of the methods of term formation is presented, a characteristic of each method is given: semantic term formation and its varieties, syntactic and word-formation methods. The phenomenon of term acquisition is separately analyzed. Particular attention is paid to the phenomenon of intersystem interaction that accompanies semantic term formation. Author’s neologisms are pointed out, ways of their formation and features of functioning are considered. The analysis of textual paradigmatic connections is given (terminological opposition, hyponymy, synonymy), associative-derivative connections of key terms are revealed. In conclusion, the main discursive practice of defining concepts is briefly characterized: definability by the whole text and metaphor. Conclusions about the qualitative and quantitative originality of the analyzed author's philosophical terms and the specifics of the author's term system are made.

Abstract Since the publication of the works of Jean-Claude Abric and Celso Sá, the structural approach to social representation has become widely diffused. There is often a lack of congruency between theoretical aspects of the structural approach and technical characteristics of the different methods used. This paper aims at making explicit the structural characteristics that are studied by the different structural approach techniques. These characteristics are: associative power of the elements, consensual aspects of thought and object essence. With these characteristics it is possible to elaborate a classification of the different techniques of the structural approach to social representations. The conclusion focuses on the absence of the social representation dynamics on a technical level despite being a central theoretical point for a better understanding of the socio representational phenomenon.

The aim of this study is to establish the perceptions of older adults in the South African context regarding falls and to link these perceptions to the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF). Data were analyzed by a summative, conventional, and deductive approach. The analysis indicated that the Body Function and Structure codes were most frequently used during the discussions, but the contextual analysis of the most frequently used categories indicated that Activities and Participation were the participants’ main focus. The main focus of fall assessment in older adults should therefore be on Activities and Participation, as this can assist them in decreasing their fall risk, irrespective of whether they had a previous fall. Contrary to the majority of current literature on falls, this study included both participants who had fallen and those who hadn’t, resulting in richer data and themes gathered from the focus groups.

Title: Spatial Planning of Tradisional Architecture as Observed among the Atoni Tribe in the Tamkesi Kampong on Timor Island This research aims to investigate the concept of spatial planning found in the traditional architecture of the Atoni tribe living in the traditional kampong of Tamkesi on Timor Island. The method employed for this research project consists of the following steps: first of all, to record and re-sketch the entire physical state of this kampong in the greatest possible detail. The result of these sketches is subsequently subjected to an anatomical analysis to arrive a classification of the relationship between all of the elements encountered and scrutinized; secondly, to make an analysis by exposing the latter to the principles of identification and orientation. The analysis is based on an elaboration of the phenomenological approach by Norberg-Schulz and the structural approach involving function-form-meaning by Salura. Based on the outcome of this analysis, the local concept serves as the basis for the spatial planning of traditional architecture as observed in the Tamkesi kampong. The conclusion drawn reveals that the relationship between the immediate environment, the site, form, framwork and the natural-cultural cycle in traditional architecture is clearly influenced by the concept of top-down (upper vs. lower) hierarchy as well as the binding element (datum) of the tribal order (hierarchy, the gender code/etiquette, ethnic bonds and traditional customs as well as cultural and spiritual symbols).

Abstract The paper suggests a new classification of Slavic place names in the content plan (on the Old Russian annalistic material), based on the functional-structural approach developed in the works by V. Blanár and R. Šrámek. As the semantics of a proper name is formed both by its relationship with an object (the referential identification) and a hierarchical set of socially and pragmatically important features (the presuppositional identification), the paper distinguishes two modes of nomination, in accordance with the character of the relationship between a name and a referent, variability of which allows to discover and structurize onymic features. The direct nomination implies the designation of an object as such, on the assumption of its immanent feature characterizing it as a whole. The indirect mode denotes an object through its relationship with other reality. The classification is based on a strict dichotomic principle that allows to identify nominational features forming the basic content structure of the Slavic toponymy, and has a two-level ‒ nominational and semantic ‒ character that consequently reflects the double ‒ onomastic and linguistic ‒ status of a proper name.

We have investigated the spectrograms (dispersion: 8Å/mm) in the photographic infrared region fromλ7500 toλ9000 of some carbon stars obtained by the coudé spectrograph of the 74-inch reflector attached to the Okayama Astrophysical Observatory. The names of the stars investigated are listed in Table 1.
