This research aimed at testing which technique between KWL and TWA techniques is better to be used in order to help students in promoting their reading competency to achieve the performance indicator which is set to the tenth-grade students at SMAN 1 Singaraja. The design of the study was Post-test Only Two Non-Control Group Design. The population was 11 classes with 317 tenth-grade students at SMAN 1 Singaraja in which 2 classes were selected as the sample of the research which was determined by using cluster random sampling. One class with 28 students read texts using KWL and the other class with 30 students read texts using TWA technique. The instruments which were used such as lesson plans, try out test and final test. The data were collected through reading test (final test) that were analysed descriptively and inferentially which used one-way ANOVA in inferential statistics analysis. The result shows that, F=1.863 with the significance value was 0. 140 which was higher than the significance value of alpha, 0.05. Thus, there is no significant difference on the students’ reading competency when they read texts using KWL and TWA technique. Because there is no different on the students’ reading competency between the two groups when they read texts using KWL and TWA techniques, Turkey analysis did not need to be administrated.

This research entitled “Investigating The Effect of Drama as Teaching Technique on Grade Eight Students’ Vocabulary Acquisition at MTs Assyairiyah Attahiriyah Jakarta” principally aims to investigate whether or not drama technique significantly affects students’ vocabulary acquisition. The research samples were taken using cluster random sampling, with the total number of samples being 60 students. The location of this research was MTs Assyairiyah Attahiriyah Jakarta. The research methodology adopted was quasi-experiment method, with the research design being post test only control group design. To collect the data, the students were given the objective test, numbering 30 items. The research data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially. The findings indicated that there was significant difference of post-test score between the students who received drama technique and students who did not receive drama technique. It can be seen from the data analysis using ANOVA that showed Fobserved (90.988) is higher than the critical value of Ftable (at the significant level of 0.05 and df = 1/84), namely 3.96. it means that drama technique has significant effect on students’ vocabulary acquisition.

Vocabulary is something that very important in learning English.  Relating to vocabulary, students find that it is difficult to recognize the meaning and written form. Further, there are difficulties in reading English texts. The animation video is an interested medium which expected to help and develop students’ vocabulary achievement. The research methodology in this research is quantitative, true experimental. Further, the research design is post-test only control group design. The sampling technique applied is Cluster Random Sampling, where the samples are randomly taken from the population. There are 60 samples of students and the sample classes are divided into two classes, Experimental and Control classes. Each class with 30 students. The instrument used to collect the vocabulary achievement in form of an objective test, consisting of 30 questions. The result of data are analyzed using t–test, the researcher found that Tobserved = 13,355 is higher than Ttable = 2.000 and significant (2-tailed) 0.00 than < (lower) than Alpha 0.05 that means Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Based on the result, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of using Animation Video on Ten-Grade Students’ Vocabulary Achievement at MAN 18 JAKARTA.

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui dampak PjBL dengan pendekatan STEM terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis dan self efficacy peserta didik. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam jenis quasi experiment dengan Nonequivalent Control Group Design, melibatkan dua subjek penelitian yaitu experiment class and control class. Populasi penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas X IPA SMA Gajah Mada Bandar Lampung. Sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 2 kelas, pengambilan sampel adalah cluster random sampling, pengumpulan data menggunakan test esai berpikir kritis dan angket skala likert. Analisis data penelitian menggunakan uji Anova. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata pretest dan postest kelas eksperiment sebesar 64,96 menjadi 84,24. Model PjBL pendekatan STEM meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan self efficacy peserta didik yang ditandai adanya peningkatan skor rata-rata pre test dan pos testt pada tiap indikator yaitu 60,86 menjadi 81,22. Peningkatan pre test dan post test dengan N-gain sebesar 0,55 atau 31%. Nilai rata-rata angket Self Efficacy kelas eksperimen sebesar 135,04 atau 93% dangan kategori sangat tinggi. Maka disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model PjBL – STEM terhadap peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan self efficacy peserta didik kelas X pada materi ekosistem. An analysis of students' critical thinking skills and self-efficacy: The influence of PjBL-STEM on ecosystem learning materials Abstract: This research aimed to determine the influence of the PjBL model with the STEM approach on students' critical thinking skills and self-efficacy. This research is a quasi-experimental research with a nonequivalent control group design. This research also involved two research subjects, namely the experimental class and the control class. The population of this research was the tenth-grade students of SMA Gajah Mada Bandar Lampung. The samples were determined using the cluster random sampling technique. In collecting the data, the researchers employed a critical thinking test and a Likert scale questionnaire. The research data were analyzed using the ANOVA test. The results showed that the experimental class’s average score on the pretest experienced an improvement, from  64.96 to 84.24. The PjBL model with the STEM approach improved students' critical thinking skills and self-efficacy. The improvement was marked by the average pre-test and post-test scores improvement for each indicator, from 60.86 to 81.22. The improvement of pretest and posttest scores determined by the N-gain test was 0.55 or 31%. Furthermore, the average self-efficacy score obtained by the experimental class was 135.04, or 93% within the excellent category. Therefore, it can be concluded that the PjBL model with the STEM approach influenced the tenth-grade students' critical thinking skills and self-efficacy on ecosystem learning materials.

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah prestasi belajar matematika siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Sukasada yang mengikuti pembelajaran matematika dengan model pembelajaran probing prompting berbantuan index card match lebih baik daripada prestasi belajar matematika siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Sukasada yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran konvensional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Sukasada tahun ajaran 2017/2018 yang berjumlah 202 orang siswa yang tersebar ke dalam 7 kelas. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik cluster random sampling untuk memperoleh 50 orang siswa yang tersebar ke dalam 2 kelas sebagai sampel penelitian. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X MIA 1 sebagai kelas kontrol dan siswa kelas X MIA 3 sebagai kelas eksperimen. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Post Test Only Control Group Design. Data prestasi belajar matematika siswa diperoleh melalui tes prestasi belajar matematika. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji t satu ekor dengan taraf signifikan 5%, karena data prestasi belajar matematika siswa berdistirbusi normal dan homogen. Uji-t yang telah dilakukan memberikan hasil yaitu thitung = 6,8713 dan nilai ttabel = 0,063. Karena nilai mutlak |thitung| > ttabel ,maka pada taraf signifikan 5%, Ho ditolak. Artinya pada taraf signifikan 5%, prestasi belajar matematika siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Sukasada yang mengikuti pembelajaran matematika dengan model pembelajaran probing prompting berbantuan index card match lebih baik daripada prestasi belajar matematika siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Sukasada yang mengikuti pembelajaran matematika dengan model pembelajaran konvensional.           Kata kunci: Probing Prompting, Index Card Match, Prestasi Belajar AbstractThe study was aimed at finding out whether the achievement of the mathematics learning of tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Sukasada who learn mathematics following probing prompting learning model that is assisted by index card match better than the achievement of mathematics learning of the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Sukasada who learn mathematics following the conventional learning. The population of this study was the thenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Sukasada on academic year 2017/2018 consisted of 202 students that is distributed into 7 classes. This research was using cluster random sampling technique to get the sample and the result was the 50 students that is spread into 2 classes as the subject of this research. The sample in this research were the students of class namely X MIA 1 as the control class and the students of class namely MIA 3 as the experimental class. This research was using Post Test Only Control Group Design. The data of the mathematics learning achievements were obtained through mathematics learning achievement test. The data were analyzed by using one tailed t-test that is using significance level of 5%, because of the data of the students’ mathematics learning achievements were normally and homogenously distributed. The result of the t-test is the tscore = 6,8713 and the ttable 0,063. Because of |thitung| > ttabel, then H0 is rejected. This means that at a significance level of 5%, the achievement of the mathematics learning of tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Sukasada who learn mathematics following probing prompting learning model that is assisted by index card match better than the achievement of mathematics learning of the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Sukasada who learn mathematics following the conventional learning. Keywords: Probing Prompting, Index Card Match, Learning Achievement.

Latar belakang: Prevalensi periodontitis di Indonesia sebesar 74,1% lebih tinggi dibandingkan negara-negara lainnya di dunia. Perawatan periodontitis seperti tindakan bedah periodontal meliputi tindakan insisi akan menimbulkan luka pada gingiva. Penyembuhan luka pada rongga mulut harus diperhatikan agar tidak terjadi infeksi. Vitamin D memiliki efek antiinflamasi sebagai imunomodulator dalam mekanisme penyembuhan luka. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk membuktikan efek antiinflamasi vitamin D terhadap infiltrasi neutrofil pada luka insisi gingiva tikus wistar. Metode: Rancangan post test only control group design pada 24 sampel yang dilakukan insisi pada gingiva labial insisivus rahang bawah, dibagi menjadi 6 kelompok: kontrol yaitu tanpa pemberian perawatan observasi hari ke-1 (K1) dan  hari ke-3 (K2); perlakuan 1 (pemberian vitamin D 1000 IU per-oral/perhari) observasi hari ke-1 (P1) dan hari ke-3 (P2), perlakuan 2 (pemberian vitamin D 1000 IU per-oral/hari dan Povidone iodin 1% secara topikal ) observasi hari ke-1 (P3) dan hari ke-3 (P4). Pembuatan preparat dari jaringan gingiva area insisi dengan pewarnaan HE dan perhitungan jumlah sel neutrofil menggunakan mikroskop pembesaran 400 kali. Analisis data dengan Uji One Way Anova kemudian dilanjutkan dengan uji Least Significant Difference. Hasil: Terdapat perbedaan rerata jumlah neutrofil pada keenam kelompok nilai F = 12,03 dan p = 0,000. Perbedaan terdapat pada P1-K1 (p=0,000), P1-P3 (p=0,021), P1-P2 (p=0,047), P3-K1 (p=0,01), P2-K2 (p=0,002), P2-K4 (p=0,047). Simpulan: Infiltrasi neutrofil pada penyembuhan luka insisi gingiva tikus lebih tinggi pada pemberian vitamin D pada hari ke-1 dibanding kontrol, dan infiltrasi neutrofil hari ke-3 lebih rendah dibanding hari ke-1 setelah pemberian vitamin D.

ABSTRAKBonggol belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal, padahal bagian bonggol mengandung beberapa komponen aktif salah satunya adalah enzim bromelin. Ezim bromelin bersifat sebagai antibakteri. Tujuan penelitian ini  untuk mengetahui efektivitas daya hambat ekstrak etanol 96% bonggol nanas (Ananas comosus L) terhadap perumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental menggunakan desain post-test only control group design. Ekstrak etanol 96% bonggol nanas (Ananas comosus L) dilaukan ekstra dengan metode maserasi Bakteri Staphycoccus aureus diambil dari media Manitol salt agar. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan ekstrak bonggol nanas pada konsentrasi 50%-100% dengan diulang sebanyak 3 replikasi memiliki daya hambat terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Berdasarkan uji One-Way ANOVA dengan taraf kepercayaan 95% menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna (p<0,05) antara berbagai konsentrasi, sehingga dilanjutkan dengan uji LSD untuk mengetahui adanya perbedaan pada masing-masing perlakuan. Hasil uji LSD menunjukkan bahwa kosentrasi 50% berbeda nyata dengan konsentrasi  70%, 80%, 90% dan 100%, sedangkan control positif tidak berbeda nyata dengan konsentrasi 50% dan 60%. Kesimpulan penelitian ini bahwa ekstrak etanol 96% bonggol nanas (Ananas comosus L) berpengaruh positif dalam menghambat dan membunuh bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dan konsentrasi paling optimal pada 70%.Kata kunci: Ekstrak etanol 96% bonggol nanas, bacitrasin, Staphylococcus aureus, zona hambat antibakteriABSTRACTPineaplle cobs have not been utilized optimally, whereas the cob section contains several active components one of which is the enzyme bromelin.  Bromelin is an antibacterial agent.  The purpose of this research was to determine the effectiveness of inhibitory of ethanol extract 96% pineapple cobs (Ananas comosus L) to Staphylococcus aureus bacteria growth.  This research is an experimental using post-test design only control group design.  Pineaplle cobs extract 96% by maceration method, Staphycoccus aureus bacteria taken from Mantol salt agar medium.  The results of this study showed the pineapple cobs extrac concentrations of 50% -100% with replication as any 3 replications have an inhibitory to the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria.  Based on One-Way ANOVA test with 95% confidence level there was a significant difference (p <0,05) between various concentrations, so it was continued with LSD test to know the difference in each treatment.  LSD test results showed that 50% concentration was significantly different with concentrations of 70%, 80%, 90% and 100%, while the positive control did not differ significantly with concentrations of 50%.  The conclusion of this research is that pineapple  cobs(Ananas comosus L) has positive effect in inhibitied and killing Staphylococcus aureus bacteria and optimal concentration 70%.  Keywords: pineapple cobs etanol extract, bacitrasin, Staphylococcus aureus, zone of inhibition, antibacterial

This research entitled “Investigating The Effect Of Using Podcast On Grade Ten Students’ Listening Comprehension At SMA Angkasa 2 Jakarta” principally aims to investigate whether or not Podcast significantly effects on Students’ Listening Comprehension. The research samples were taken using cluster random sampling, with the total number of samples being 60 students. The location of this research was SMA Angkasa 2 Jakarta. The research methodology adopted was quasi-experimental method, with the research design being post-test only control group design. To collect the data, the students were given objective test, numbering 30 items. The research data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially. The findings indicated that there was significant difference of post-test score between the students who were taught using Podcast and students who were taught without using Podcast. It can be seen from the data analysis using ANOVA that showed significance value (sig. 0.010) is lower than < 0.05.It means that Podcast has significant effect on Students’ Listening Comprehension.

This research principally aims to investigate whether or not word list on the word wall significantly affects students’ vocabulary learning result. The research samples were taken using cluster random sampling, with the total number of samples being 70 students. The location of this research was SMPN 198 Jakarta. The research methodology adopted was quasi-experiment method with the research design being posttest only control group design. To collect the data, the students were given objective test, numbering 50 items. The research data were analyzed by using ONE-WAY ANOVA. The findings indicated that there was significant difference of post-test score between the students who received Word List Word Wall Strategy and students who did not receive Word List on the Word Wall. The writer found the significant level (Sig) in line with the ANOVA statistic was 0.000 which was lower than 0.05 means that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted.it means that Word List on the Word Wall Strategy has significant effect on students’ vocabulary learning result.

This research entitled “The Effect of Semantic Mapping Strategy on Students’ Vocabulary Learning Resultat the Grade Ten of SMK Pusaka 1 in Academic Year of 2017/2018” principally aims to investigate whether or not Semantic Mapping Strategy significantly affects on Students’ Vocabulary Learning Result. The research samples were taken using cluster random sampling, with the total number of samples being 72 students. The location of this research was SMKPusaka 1 Jakarta. The research methodology adopted was true experimental method, with the research design being randomized post-test only control group design. To collect the data, the students were given objective test, numbering 30 items. The research data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially. The findings indicated that there was significant difference of post-test score between the students who received Semantic Mapping Strategy and students who did not receive Semantic Mapping Strategy. It can be seen from the data analysis using ANOVA that showed Fobserved (7.801) is higher than the critical value of Ftable (at the significant level of 0.05 and df = 1/70), namely 3.96. It means that Semantic Mapping Strategy has significant effect on Students’ Vocabulary Learning Result.

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Number Head Together (NHT) terhadap keterampilan problem posing matematis siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SD Al- Zahra Indonesia, untuk tahun akademik 2014/2015. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuasi eksperimen dengan Post-test Only Control Group Design, melibatkan 60 siswa sebagai sampel. Untuk menentukan sampel digunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Pengambilan data menggunakan instrumen seperti tes esai tertulis. Keterampilan problem posing matematis siswa yang mengajar dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Number Head Together (NHT) lebih tinggi daripada keterampilan problem posing matematis siswa yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran klasik (t hitung = 2,01 table t tabel = 2,00 ). Persentase jawaban siswa dari problem posing berdasarkan gambar, tabel dan diagram yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Number Head Together (NHT) lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang mengajar dengan model pembelajaran klasik. Kesimpulan hasil penelitian ini bahwa pembelajaran matematika Pecahan dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Number Head Together (NHT) memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap keterampilan problem posing matematika siswa.
