The goal of this research is to elaborate on the implementation of CALL subject in English as a Foreign Language Instructions at a higher education level. As one of the four pillars of a university’s development program, the use of ICT in the teaching and learning process has gained significant attention from higher education institutions; thus, through this research, the integration of CALL subject in English education curriculum and instruction is designed. The design then offered to be implemented in the English education program at a higher education level. Studies in CALL field have developed significantly in determining the effect of the technology use in language learning; thus, it is considered significant to be included in the English Education curriculum. This research is targeting the mastery of technology by student teachers’ literacy to prepare them for becoming English teachers who understand the technology and able to use it in the instructions setting. This is important considering that the students nowadays are born in the technology era. This paper discusses the implementation process of the CALL subject and the perspectives of EFL teachers and students towards the subject.

This present study is devoted to investigating the language phenomenon focusing on spoken communication during the classroom learning at MAN Model State Islamic Senior High School, Gorontalo. Employing a descriptive qualitative method, the data of this study encompassed the utterances of the teacher and students during the classroom learning, specifically in UN (national examination) subjects. The data were generated by a conversation method with its basic techniques, i.e., recording, and note-taking. Furthermore, the data were qualitatively analyzed by (1) transcribing the recording into a written discourse, (2) grouping the data according to the problem statement, (3) examining the data, and (4) summing up. This study successfully identifies four strategies used during the communication process in a classroom learning; the strategies are (1) bald on record, (2) positive politeness, (3) negative politeness, and (4) off record.

This study is classrom action research. It is carried out at SMP N 2 Metro in Academic Year of 2017/2018. The objectives of the research: (1) to find out whether guided question technique can increase the students’ writing skill in descriptive text; (2) to describe the process of teaching writing using guided question technique. The population of the research is the seventh grade students of SMP N 2 Metro in academic year 2017/2018 that consist of 32 students. The research is conducted in two cycles. The procedure of the research consists of identifying the problem, planning the action, implementing the action, observing the action, and reflecting the result of the research. Qualitative data are collected through interview, observation. In the meantime, quantitative data are collected through test. To analyze qualitative data, the researchers use miles and huberman model. It consists of three steps: data reduction, data display and data conclusion. Meanwhile, to analyze quantitative data, the researchers employ descriptive statistic.    The result of the research indicates that the implementation of guided question technique improved the students’ writing skill in descriptive text. The average score of pre-test is 56. In the cycle 1, the researchers giving the treatment and get the students’ average score of post-test 1 is 69,23. After applying the revised planning in cycle 2, the average students’ score in post-test 2 is 76. It has reached 75% of 32 students that indicated the students passed the criterion of success. The result of students’ participation in cycle 1 and cycle 2 did a significant progress and improves in every meeting of each cycle. In addition, the use of guided questions technique is able to increase the students’ writing skill in descriptive text. The research has some suggestions; for the English teacher, it is useful to implement guided questions technique as one alternatives teaching, for the students it can be used to make the students easier in writing a text and for the further researcher this study can be used as a reference.

As a foreign language, some students find difficulties to learn English at school. An attractive  media such as English Quotes are expected to increase learners’ interest in English writing. Thirty participants who are active users of social media are asked to answer several question through questionnaire and interview. The result shown that English Quotes help the participants to learn English accidentally. Since they only read what are they interested in, they enjoyed the process and do not feel burden to do it. When they find unfamiliar words, they are pleased to search the meaning through both online and offline dictionary. As a result, it can increase their vocabulary. Last but not least, after they already understood of the meaning, they tried to rewrite and posted it in their social media status, thus it help them increase their interest in writing.

This research based on the important of the student’s critical thinking for general students. Critical thinking is very important in daily life. Because , students are required to have the ability to choose and sort the information that is good and true. This research to identify how far debate can effect student’s critical thinking. This research was classroom action research it consist of two cycle, each cycle consist of three meetings. The data had been taken from each cycle then the average is compared. If there is an enhance in this research it means the research is successful. But if there is no enhance in this research it means the research is failed. This research is conducted in Islamic University Of Assyafi’iyah, It was located in Jatiwaringin street. This research was involved the first Semester English Education Study Program was consist of 34 college students and they were as subjects of this research. This research was considered successful by researchers because there was a significant improvement from cycle one to cycle two, which 62,87 to 70,37. The results of this research help teachers to enhance students’ critical thinking through debate technique.

This study aims to identify the extent to which student knowledge in understanding vocabulary using blindfold games. By using blindfold games, students are expected to understand more in using vocabulary. Blindfold is the method students use about things in class. After teaching vocabulary to students, both writing and pronunciation, to practice descriptions, we can use the blindfold game. Before entering the game, it would be better if students run simple description phrases. Enter the game, students as usual describe them with cloth or sketches that have been prepared. After all students are closed, the teacher will provide ready things like books, pencils and pens. Students are given to describe these objects. Students who successfully describe and guess correctly. This is done to find out how students cope with vocabulary. The research design of the study was classroom action research. In this research, there were four phrases, plan, action, observe, reflection. This research will be conducted by two cycles to analyze data. The research investigated the eight grade students vocabulary of MtsN 31 Jakarta Timur which was started in August 10, 2018 and ended in September 14, 2018. Researchers collect data by teaching them about vocabulary using bliindfold games and documenting. Data comes from test results and lesson plans. Data collection method is observation. this research was conducted at MtsN 31 Jakarta with 34 participants. This study was successful because there was a significant increase in the first cycle with an average of 61 and the second with an average of 70. This study helped students improve vocabulary.

This research entitled “Investigating The Effect Of Using Podcast On Grade Ten Students’ Listening Comprehension At SMA Angkasa 2 Jakarta” principally aims to investigate whether or not Podcast significantly effects on Students’ Listening Comprehension. The research samples were taken using cluster random sampling, with the total number of samples being 60 students. The location of this research was SMA Angkasa 2 Jakarta. The research methodology adopted was quasi-experimental method, with the research design being post-test only control group design. To collect the data, the students were given objective test, numbering 30 items. The research data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially. The findings indicated that there was significant difference of post-test score between the students who were taught using Podcast and students who were taught without using Podcast. It can be seen from the data analysis using ANOVA that showed significance value (sig. 0.010) is lower than < 0.05.It means that Podcast has significant effect on Students’ Listening Comprehension.

This research entitled “Discovery Learning strategy on Grade Eleven Students’ Reading Comprehension in Report text at SMA Negeri 6 Karawang” principally aims to investigate whether or not DL strategy significantly affects on Students’Reading Comprehension. Research method used in this research was quasi experimental, quantitative and the design was randomized post-test only control group design.To collect data the writer used instruments in the form of objective, multiple choice 30 question items for sample class out of 60 questions items that have been tried out in IPS class on grade eleven at SMA Negeri 6 Karawang. The scores obtained from the try-out class were used to analyze the validity, reliability, discrimination power and difficulty index of each question items in the instruments. The sample of this research was grade eleven students in IPS class consisting of 60 students. The students is divided into two classes, 30 students in experimental class thought using DLstrategy and 30 in control class thought without DL strategy that are taken from the population using cluster random technique.The analysis using SPSS-based One Way Anova Formula produced significance (Sig.) value of 0.002, since the significance value was smaller than (<) Alpha 0.05, H0 is rejected and HAis accepted. It means that DL Strategy has significant effect on students’ reading comprehension.

This study aims at enhancing students’ writing exposition paragraph through collaboration by utilizing Google Docs and peer-review technique. Based on the findings in preliminary research, students got difficulties in writing. The subject of this research is the fourth semester students of English Study Program of Widya Dharma University Klaten. Data showed from the pre-test, the students’ skills in each writing aspects are still low, namely organization (62%), content (65%), syntax/grammar (61%), mechanics (57%), and vocabulary (66%). The techniques of collecting the data in this study are observation, interview, questionnaire, and test. The technique of analyzing the data is using interactive model analysis from Miles & Huberman for qualitative data and descriptive statistic for quantitative data. The results of the study show that there are significant improvement of students’ writing exposition paragraph viewed from mean scores of pre-test (63, 1), cycle I (68, 35), cycle II (73, 2), and cycle III (81, 55). The findings also present that teaching writing through collaboration by using peer review technique using Google Docs can improve the students’ analytical and critical thinking, self-confidence, and social relation; make students to be more active; and create meaningful learning of the class situation.

This research entitled “The Effect of Semantic Mapping Strategy on Students’ Vocabulary Learning Resultat the Grade Ten of SMK Pusaka 1 in Academic Year of 2017/2018” principally aims to investigate whether or not Semantic Mapping Strategy significantly affects on Students’ Vocabulary Learning Result. The research samples were taken using cluster random sampling, with the total number of samples being 72 students. The location of this research was SMKPusaka 1 Jakarta. The research methodology adopted was true experimental method, with the research design being randomized post-test only control group design. To collect the data, the students were given objective test, numbering 30 items. The research data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially. The findings indicated that there was significant difference of post-test score between the students who received Semantic Mapping Strategy and students who did not receive Semantic Mapping Strategy. It can be seen from the data analysis using ANOVA that showed Fobserved (7.801) is higher than the critical value of Ftable (at the significant level of 0.05 and df = 1/70), namely 3.96. It means that Semantic Mapping Strategy has significant effect on Students’ Vocabulary Learning Result.
