Utilization of organic material in crop farming is one of the methods to exploit the local wisdom in agricultural practice. The research was conducted from June to September 2012 in the research farm, State Islamic University of Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau. The objective of the research was to investigate the effects of organic materials and crop density ? in growth and yield on cucumber. Randomized block design with 2 factors and 4 replications was employed in this study. The first factor consists of three levels organic fertilizer treatments i.e. no fertilizer, poultry manure, and compost of oil palm empty bunch. Second factor comprises of three levels of crop density i.e. 1, 2, and 3 plants per pot).. The results showed that there was significant increase on growth and yield on cucumber with poultry manure treatment compare to that of with compost of oil palm empty bunch. Increasing crop density ? improves the number and weight of cucumber yield per pot, even though, some parameters, i.e. number of leaves, stem diameter, crop dry weight, productive number of branches, cucumber size and cucumber weight per plant were significantly decreased.

Sari. Kangkung darat merupakan salah satu tanaman yang dapat menyerap logam berat. Hal ini berkaitan dengan pertumbuhan, hasil, dan keamanan kangkung sebagai bahan konsumsi. Pencemaran lahan pertanian dapat disebabkan dari kegiatan industri, salah satunya yaitu limbah penyamakan kulit yang mengandung logam berat kromium yang mengairi lahan pertanian. Pemberian bahan organik merupakan salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan hasil tanaman kangkung darat dan menyerap logam berat. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kombinasi macam dan dosis bahan organik pada media tercemar kromium penyamakan kulit terhadap pertumbuhan, hasil dan kandungan kromium pada tanaman kangkung darat. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan sembilan perlakuan dan tiga kali ulangan. Perlakuan kombinasi macam dan dosis bahan organik terdiri dari serasah daun, pupuk kandang kambing, dan kascing dengan dosis masing-masing 5 t ha-1, 10 t ha-1dan 15 t ha-1. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan kombinasi macam dan dosis bahan organik pada media tercemar kromium penyamakan kulit berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan, dan hasil tanaman kangkung darat. Kombinasi kascing 15 t ha-1 memberikan pengaruh yang lebih baik terhadap tinggi tanaman, bobot segar per tanaman, dan bobot kering per tanaman, sedangkan pemberian serasah daun 5 t ha-1 menghasilkan tanaman kangkung darat dengan kandungan kromium yang lebih rendah (51,33 mgkg-1) dibandingkan perlakuan lainnya tetapi tanaman dengan kadar tersebut belum aman untuk dikonsumsi.Kata Kunci : kangkung darat, bahan organik, kromium, hasilAbstract. Water spinach is a heavy metal accumulator plant if grown in polluted soils. This raises the concern of water spinach safety as one of the most consumed vegetables in Asian household. Land pollution in water spinach cultivation area can be caused by industrial activities that involve heavy metals such as tannery. Industrial waste such as chrome leaches to the water system that eventually will be used as irrigation source for agriculture. Organic fertilizer is a potential solution to increase water spinach growth, yield, and absorb heavy metal contaminants. This research evaluated the effect of type and dosage of organic fertilizer on water spinach that grown in chromium-polluted soils. This research design used Randomized Block Design (RBD) with nine treatments and three replication. The treatment of combination of types and dosages of organic fertilizer. There were dried leaves, goat manure, and vermicompost with dosage of 5 t ha-1, 10 t ha-1 and 15 t ha-1. The results of this research showed that the effect of combination of organic fertilizer type and dosages at chrome polluted media gave better effect on growth, and yield of water spinach. Giving vermicompost of 15 t ha-1 gaves better effect on plant height, fresh weight of plant, and dry weight of plant, meanwhile the doses of 5 t ha-1dried leaves showed the lowest chrome content compared to other treatments, but these plants are still unsafe for consumption due to high chrome content.Keywords: water spinach, organic fertilizer, chromium, yield

This study aims to examine the effect of concentration of liquid organic fertilizer supermes on various spacing to the growth and yield of onion. The experiment was conducted in Dusun Telaga Kodok, Hitu Lama Village, Leihitu Barat District, Central Maluku District, from March to April 2017. The experiment used was a Randomized Block Design with three replications. The concentration of liquid organic fertilizer supermes consists of: 0, 2, 4, 6 mL/L water. Plant ing distance consists of: 10 × 15 cm, 15 × 15 cm and 20 × 15 cm. Varieties used were varieties of Bima Brebes. Parameters measured were plant height, number of leaves, number of tubers, root length, wet weight and dry weight of tubers. During the experiment, rainfall and rainy days were quite high at the research location. This condition causes the crop to be harvested at 41 HST because it is attacked by ground caterpillar, mosaic disease and purple spots. The application of liquid organic fertilizer has not shown any significant effect to the growth and yield parameters of shallot crop. Planting distance of 15 × 15 cm shows the effect on plant height and number of leaves at 35 HST, tuber weight and tuber dry weight and there is a significant interaction on the leaf number at 35 HST with concentration of 4 mL/L water and Planting Distance 15 × 15 cm. Keywords: liquid organic fertilizer, planting distance, red onion   ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh konsentrasi pupuk organik cair supermes pada berbagai jarak tanam terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil bawang merah. Paramater yang diukur adalah tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, jumlah umbi, panjang akar, bobot basah dan bobot kering umbi. Selama percobaan berlangsung curah hujan dan hari hujan cukup tinggi terjadi di lokasi penelitian. Kondisi ini menyebabkan tanaman dipanen pada umur 41 HST karena diserang oleh hama ulat tanah, penyakit mozaik dan bercak ungu. Pemberian pupuk organik cair belum memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap parameter pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman bawang merah. Jarak tanaman 15 × 15 cm berpengaruh terhadap tinggi tanaman dan jumlah daun pada 35 HST, bobot basah umbi dan bobot kering umbi serta adanya interaksi perlakuan yang nyata terhadap jumlah daun pada umur 35 HST dengan konsentrasi 4 mL/L air dan jarak tanam 15 × 15 cm. ABSTRACT The aim of this research is to know the effect of organic fertilizer formulation and NPK Phonska fertilizer on the growth and yield of sweet corn, and to get organic fertilizer formulation for the efficiency of inorganic fertilizer NPK Phonska in increasing the yield of sweet corn. The factorial experiment was designed using a Randomized Block Design consisting of two factors. Factor I (A) = Formulation of Organic Fertilizer, consisting of A1 = Water hyacinth, Cow Manure, chicken manure, A2 = Hydrilla verticillata, cow dung, chicken manure, A3 = Kirinyuh, cow dung, chicken manure. Factor II (B) = Phonska fertilizer, Consist of B1 = 25% Phonska, B2 = 50% Phonska, B3 = 75% Phonska, B4 = 100% Phonska. Each treatment was repeated three times to obtain 36 experimental plots. Response variables observed included: Plant dry weight, Length of cob, Cob diameter, Weight of cob, measured at harvest. Data were analyzed using variance analysis and if there was effect of treatment continued by using Test of Honest Real Difference (BNJ) at 5% test level. The results showed that the interaction between organic fertilizer formulation and NPK phonska significantly affect the diameter of cob and sweet corn cob weight. The dry weight of sweet corn plant is influenced by organic fertilizer formulation. Formulation of organic fertilizer Hydrilla verticillata + cow dung + chicken dung 20 ton / ha dose able to reduce the dose of NPK Phonska at half of the recommended dosage.Keywords: formulation of organic fertilizer, sweet corn yield, Phonska  ABSTRAK Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh interaksi formulasi pupuk organik dan pupuk NPK Phonska terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil jagung manis, serta mendapatkan formulasi pupuk organik untuk efisiensi pupuk anorganik NPK Phonska dalam meningkatkan hasil jagung manis. Percobaan factorial  dirancang menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok yang terdiri dari dua faktor. Faktor II(B) =  Pupuk Phonska, Terdiri dari B1 = 25% Phonska, B2 = 50% Phonska, B3 = 75% Phonska, B4 = 100 % Phonska. Setiap perlakuan diulang tiga kali sehingga diperoleh 36 petak percobaan. Variabel respons yang diamati  meliputi : Berat kering tanaman, Panjang tongkol, Diameter tongkol, Bobot tongkol, diukur pada saat panen. Data  dianalisis menggunakan  analisis ragam dan jika terdapat pengaruh perlakuan dilanjutkan dengan menggunakan Uji Beda Nyata Jujur (BNJ) pada taraf uji 5 %. Hasil penelitian  menunjukkan bahwaInteraksi antara formulasi pupuk organik dan NPK phonska berpengaruh nyata terhadap diameter tongkol dan  bobot tongkol jagung manis. Bobot kering tanaman jagung manis dipengaruhi oleh  formulasi pupuk organik.  Formulasi pupuk organik Hydrilla verticillata+ kotoran sapi+kotoran ayam dosis 20 ton/ha mampu menurunkan dosis NPK Phonska setengah dari dosis rekomendasi.Kata kunci: formulasi pupuk organik, hasil jagung manis, Phonska

Nursery success is one of the important things in the oil palm plantation business. Nurseries are the beginning of efforts to cultivate palm plants, so the nurseries must consider all the conditions that can affect the development of the growth of oil palm plants. One important requirement is to conduct nurseries that tend to be organic, which are environmentally friendly. The use of organic fertilizers and sustainable biological fertilizers is very important in increasing soil fertility, growth and crop yields. Organic fertilizer that used is sugar mill wasted blotong and biological fertilizer is mychorrhizal. To determine the effect of giving sugar mill waste blotong and mycorrhizal applications on P nutrient levels in the Main Nursery. This study uses factorial randomized block design method (RAK). First factor is blotong (B): B0= control, B1= 500 gr blotong/seed, B2= 100 gr blotong/seed. Second factor is Mycorrhizal (M): M0= control, M1= 10 gr mycorrhizal arbusculae/seed, M2= 20 gr mycorrhizal arbusculae/seed. 9 treatment combinations were obtained with 4 replications, so the total treatment was 36. Blotong compost application significantly affected palm seed height, canopy dry weight and root dry weight, while mycorrhizal application only significantly affected seed height. the combination between them two gives the best effect on B1M1 treatment.

Planting shallots in Buahan Village is only carried out once a year, namely in July. The continuous use of synthetic fertilizers at high doses without being balanced with natural fertilizers has degraded the land so that soil fertility has decreased. The negative impact caused is a decrease in the yield of shallots. Quality organic fertilizers can overcome this problem. Organic vermicompost and biosllury fertilizers are quality organic fertilizers that can replace synthetic fertilizers to increase the growth and yield of shallots. The research objective was to determine the growth and yield of shallots by giving the type and dose of organic fertilizers outside the growing season. The research was conducted from March to July 2019 in Buahan Village, Kintamani District, Bangli Regency. The study used a simple randomized block design with one factor with 6 treatments, namely B0 (Without Organic Fertilizer), B1 (2000 kg / ha vermicompost); B2 (1000 L / ha biosllury) B3 (1000kg / ha vermicompost + 500 L / ha biosllury); B4 (4000 kg / ha vermicompost); B5 (2000 L / ha biosllry); B6 (2000kg / ha vermicompost + 1000 L / ha biosllury); B7 (4000 kg / ha vermicompost + 2000L biosllry) and B8 (5000 kg / ha vermicompost + 3000L / ha biosllury). The parameters observed were plant height, number of tillers, tuber wet weight per clump, harvest dry weight of tubers per clump and number of cloves per clump, soil pH, N-total (%), C-organic and total population of soil microorganisms. The results showed that the type and dose of organic fertilizer had a significant effect on all the meters observed. Treatment of 5000 kg / ha vermicompost + 3000L / ha biosllury gave the highest yield, namely 56.8 g per clump, 60% higher than the control 35.5 g per clump.

This study was aimed to find the effect of various methods of manure management and to determine the best method on growth and production of highland rice Situ Bagendit variety. The reseach was conducted in the Rimbo Kedui Village South Seluma District Seluma regerency from February to June 2011. This study was arranged in randomized block design to examine the 5 treatments with 4 replications. The treatments studied were synthesis fertilizer, manure+sand, manure+husk, Bokashi, and manure only. Result showed that the various methods of manure management cignificantly affected all of variables except plant heiglat on 8 weeks after planting/wap, shoot number on 6 and 8 wap, and biomas dry weight. organic fertilizer was better than synthetic fertilizer. However the various methods of manure management gave efferent effect to the growth and yield. Bokashi method was the best treasure which can push the rice to produce 4.126 kg.ha-1.

Aims: To evaluate the influence of farmyard manure, vermicompost, mustard oil cake, poultry manure, and inorganic fertilisers (N, P, K) on maize dry matter buildup and nutrient uptake by plants, as well as to demonstrate how maize may be produced in a poplar agroforestry system. Study Design: Randomized block design. Place and Duration of Study: Forest Nursery, College of Forestry, Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, India, between July 2019 – October 2019 and  July 2020 – October 2020. Methodology: The research was laid out in Randomized Block Design replicated thrice with twelve treatments viz., T1 (Control), T2 (100% Recommended dose of fertilizer), T3 (75%) RDF), T4 (50%) RDF), T5 (75%) RDF + (25%) RDF through FYM), T6 (50%) RDF + (50%) RDF through FYM), T7 (75%) RDF + (25%) RDF through Mustard Oilcake, T8 (50%) RDF + (50%) RDF through Mustard Oilcake and T9 (75%) RDF + (25%) RDF through Vermicompost, T10 (50%) RDF + (50%) RDF through Vermicompost, T11 (75%) RDF + (25%) RDF through poultry manure and T12 (50%) RDF + (50%) RDF through poultry manure. These treatment combinations were applied prior to sowing of maize. After harvesting of maize in October, the said observations i.e. dry matter accumulation and nutrient uptake by maize plant were calculated. Results: In the effect of twelve treatments, T9 (75% RDF + 25% N through Vermicompost) considerably influenced and recorded highest dry matter accumulation and nutrient uptake by maize, followed by T11 during two consecutive years, while T1 (control), where no fertiliser or manure was applied under a poplar agroforestry system, recorded the lowest. Conclusion: by application of vermicompost in combination with chemical fertiliser considerably improved growth characteristics and output. All of the treatments had a considerable impact on maize growth and yield. The optimum result was found to be 75 % RDF + 25 % Vermicompost (T9) in the current study. Our results indicated that, organic fertilizer can be a superior supplement of inorganic fertilizer to produce healthier growth and yield of maize.

Onion (Allium ascolanicum L.) is not only popular as cooking spices in Indonesia but also throughout the world. Onion that has high economic value, has its own attraction to be cultivated by farmers. However, farmers often face some problems in onion farming. Problems were faced by farmers related to social economic conditions both internal, external and natural conditions. Fertilizer application for onion can use inorganic and organic fertilizer materials. The use of inorganic fertilizers without the addition of organic fertilizers over a long period of time, suspected to cause a decrease in soil physical and chemical capabilities, with the application of solid and liquid organic fertilizer is predicted to be more effective because the elements are more than one element. The use of fertilizers and organic matter through soil is often inefficient because of the fixation by soil particles. Liquid fertilizers administered overcome gapnutrients during growth. Herbafarm liquid organic fertilizer is a type of liquid fertilizer released by PT. Sidomuncul herbafarm which contains bio protectant, processed from by products of medicinal products made from raw medicinal plants and spices. Herbafarm contains macro and micro nutrients and also organic compounds that are essential for the growth and development of plants. This research was conducted in Sidera village, Biromaru sub-district, Sigi regency, Central Sulawesi Province. This study used a Randomized Block Design consisting of 5 treatment levels: P0 = control, P1 = 1 ml/liter of water, P2 = 2 ml/Liter of water, P3 = 3 ml/liter of water, and P4 = 4 ml/liter of water. All treatments were repeated 4 (four) times, so that there were 5 treatments each time 4 replicates = 20 experimental units. The results of this research were the best herbafarm POC on the treatment of     4 ml/liter of water that was on the parameters of plant height of  33,56 cm, leaves number  as much as 30. 63 blades, total dry weight of crop 9.99 g, number of tubers per family of 8.13 fruit, tuber diameter  of 20.26 mm, tuber length of  34.55 mm, fresh tuber weight per family of 32.57 g, tuber water content of 114.54 g and Weight of tuber per hectare 8.68 ton.ha-1.

ABSTRACT<br />Application of organic fertilizer into the soil is designated as a source of macro, micro nutrients and organic acids; it also acts as soil ameliorant that improve physical, chemical and biological properties of soil. Application of high rates organic fertilizer has a constraint namely the availability and ease of application. Therefore, it is necessary to learn the use of organic fertilizer with low rates to improve the efficiency of chemical fertilizers. This research was aimed to study the effect of organic and inorganic fertilizers on growth and yield of paddy rice, as well as the efficiency of N, P, K inorganic fertilizer. Field experiment was conducted at Sawah Baru Research Station, University Farm IPB, Bogor, West Java from September to December 2013. The experiment used Randomized Block Design consisted of two factors: rates of organic fertilizer (0, 250, 500, 750, and 1,000 kg ha-1), and rates of inorganic fertilizer (0, 100, 200, 300, and 400 kg ha-1). The results suggested that the application of 1,000 kg organic fertilizer ha-1 + 400 kg inorganic fertilizer ha-1 did not show significant interaction. Application of organic fertilizer alone up to 1,000 kg ha-1 resulted in low growth and yield. Increasing rates of  application up to 400 kg inorganic fertilizer ha-1 increased the growth and yield of paddy rice. The highest N efficiency was 89.19% at a rate of 500 kg organic fertilizer ha-1 + 200 kg inorganic fertilizer ha-1, whereas the highest efficiency of P and K, respectively were 69.55% and 92.52% at a rate of 750 kg organic fertilizer ha-1 + 300 kg inorganic fertilizer ha-1.<br />Keywords: NPK, organic fertilizer, paddy rice

ABSTRACTThe growth response of oil palm (Elaeis Guineensis Jacq.) seedling toward the application of organic fertilizer from palm fronds and NPK compound fertilizerThe research was aimed to study the influence between organic fertilizers from palm fronds and NPK compound fertilizer to reduce NPK compound fertilizer in main nursery. The experiment was conducted from January to April 2017 at the Experiment Station Ciparanje, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Padjadjaran. The experimental design used was Randomized Block Design that arranged in factorial patterns with two factors and three replications. The fisrt factor was dosage of organic fertilizers from palm fronds consisted of three levels of 0 g/polybag, 800 g/polybag, and 1600 g/polybag and the second factor was dosage of NPK compound fertilizer consisted of four levels of 0 g/polybag, 20 g/polybag, 40 g/polybag, and 60 g/polybag. The result of the experiment showed that there was interaction effect between organic fertilizers from palm fronds and NPK compound fertilizer on height of seedling and dry weight of the shoot. Percobaan dilaksanakan dari bulan Januari sampai dengan April 2017 di Kebun Percobaan Ciparanje, Fakultas , Universitas Padjadjaran. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan pola faktorial yang diulang sebanyak tiga kali. Faktor pertama meliputi dosis pupuk organik asal pelepah kelapa sawit terdiri dari tiga taraf yaitu 0 g/polybag, 800 g/polybag, dan 1600 g/polybag dan faktor kedua dosis pupuk majemuk NPK yang terdiri empat taraf yaitu 0 g/polybag, 20 g/polybag, 40 g/polybag, dan 60 g/polybag. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh interaksi pupuk organik asal pelepah kelapa sawit dengan pupuk majemuk NPK terhadap tinggi tanaman dan bobot kering tajuk. Perlakuan pupuk organik asal pelepah kelapa sawit 1600 g/bibit dengan pupuk majemuk NPK 20 g/bibit menghasilkan bobot kering tajuk bibit kelapa sawit terbaik.Kata Kunci: Bibit kelapa sawit, Pembibitan utama, Pupuk organik, Pelepah kelapa sawit, NPK
