ABSTRACT                 This study aims to (1) describe the structure of the report text of the observations of the work of class VII students of SMP Negeri 24 PAdang. (2) describe the diction of the report text of the observations by the VII grade students of SMP Negeri 24 Padang. The results of this study are (1) in writing the text of the report on the observation of the seventh grade students of Padang Public Middle School 24 using the three text structures of the observation report. The third structure of the report's text structure is the general definition, part description and description of benefits. This is evident from the 30 text reports on the results of the observations that have been analyzed, there are 28 complete observation report texts using general definitions, part descriptions, and description of benefits. (2) when viewed from diction usage with 94% accuracy of diction usage and 6% inaccurate use of diction in observation report text by class VII students of Padang Middle School 24. Kata Kunci: stuktur teks, diksi, dan teks laporan hasil observasi

 ABSTRACT This research was conducted to describe the structure and linguistic elements of the description text of class VII students of SMP Negeri 30 Padang. This type of research is qualitative with descriptive method. The data of this study are qualitative data in the form of structure and linguistic elements of the student's description text. The data are analyzed by steps, namely (1) the researcher identifies the general elements contained in the description text, (2) analyzes the essay based on the aspects studied, namely the structure and linguistic elements of the student's description text, (3) the results of the analysis the researcher examined by triangulation informants, (4) make conclusions. Based on the results of the study, two things are summarized as follows. First, in writing the description text the seventh grade students of Padang Public Middle School 30 have used both text structures. The two text structures are identification/general description and description of parts. This is evident from the 40 description texts that have been analyzed, there are 39 complete description texts using identification/general description and part descriptions. Second, in terms of language, the seventh grade students of Padang Public Middle School 30 still have errors. This is evident from the 422 sentences analyzed, there were 281 sentences and the EBI was incorrect.   Kata kunci: Struktur Teks, Unsur Kebahasaan, Teks Deskripsi

ABSTRACT  This study aims to (1) describe the structure of the report text observation of the work of class VII SMP Negeri 12 Solok Selatan (2) illustrates the linguistic characteristics of the observation report text by class VII SMP Negeri 12 Solok Selatan. The results of this study are as follows. First, in writing the report text of observations of Grade VII students of class VII SMP Negeri 12 Solok Selatan, they have used the three text structures of the observation report results. The structure of the report's observational text is a general definition, section description, and description of benefits. This is evident from the 20 observational report texts that have been analyzed throughout the observation report text of class VII SMP Negeri 12 Solok Selatan complete using general definitions, section descriptions, and benefits descriptions. Second, in writing the report text of observations generally in class VII SMP Negeri 12 Solok Selatan have used the four text structures of the observation report. The Fourth linguistic characteristics of the text of the observation report are repetition, pronoun, conjunction, and description sentences. This is evident from the 20 text reports on observations that have been analyzed, there are 16 text reports on observations that are complete using the linguistic characteristics of repetition, pronouns, conjunctions, and sentence definitions. ABSTRACT This study aims to describe two things, namely to explain the structure and diction of the report text of the observation results of class VII students of SMP Negeri 4 Pariaman. This type of research is qualitative using descriptive methods. The data from this study are student texts. The data sources used in this study are documents. The instrument of this research is the researchers themselves. Data is analyzed by describing, analyzing, and discussing data based on theory. The results of this study are as follows. First, in writing the text of the report on the observation results of class VII students of SMP Negeri 4 Pariaman, they have used three text structures from the observation report. The structure is a general definition, part description and conclusion. This is evident from all the report texts on observations that have been analyzed, most students have written observational report texts fully using general definitions, part descriptions, and conclusions. Second, judging from the use of diction, students have used diction correctly. From the text analyzed students are more dominant precisely in diction writing, although there are also errors in formation, wrong writing, and the use of incorrect meanings in the observation report text by class VII students of SMP Negeri 4 Pariaman. Kata kunci :  Kualitatif, Menulis, Teks, Struktur, Diksi

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is to describe the text structure of the report of the observation and describe the text of the observation report of class VII from SMP Negeri 18 Padang. This type of research is qualitative research with a descriptive method. The data source in this study is the text of the observation of students of class VII SMP Negeri 18 Padang, written by students in grades VII. 2 numbering thirty texts. The instruments in this study are researchers themselves. Data is analyzed by describing, analyzing, and discussing data based on theory. The results of this study are first, in the text of the observation of students of class VII SMP Negeri 18 Padang is found three text structures of observation results report, namely general definition, section description, and conclusion. Secondly, in the text of the observation of class VII students SMP Negeri 18 Padang, generally students have used the fourth feature of the text of observation report. It can be concluded that the structure and characteristics of the text in the observation report of grade VII students SMP Negeri 18 Padang is good. It can be seen from the thirty texts of the observation report analyzed, twenty-six texts of the observation report already has a complete structure and of the thirty text of the observation report analyzed, the twenty-four texts have used the full text feature of the observation report. Kata kunci: Struktur, Ciri Kebahasaan, Teks Laporan Hasil Observas

This article was written to describe the relationship of listening skill of observation report texts to the skill of writing the text of the result of observation of the seventh grade students of SMK Negeri 3 Padang. This research is a quantitative research with descriptive method. The sample in this study amounted to 30 people. The data of this research is score of skill test result listening the observation report text. Based on data analysis and discussion, the following three things are obtained. First, the skill of writingthe text of the result of observation of the seventh grade students of SMK Negeri 3 Padang is in good qualification (65,56). Second, the skill of listening to the text of the result of observation of the seventh grade students of SMKNegeri 3 Padang is in good qualification (79,44).

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research was to describe the effectiveness of the sentence in text of results of observations report of Grade VII students of SMP Negeri 17 Padang. The effectiveness is reviewed based on four indicators, namely (1) right reasoning, (2) right linguistic, (3) right words and terms, and (4) right spelling. This type of research is a qualitative research with descriptive methods. This research was carried out at Padang 17 Public Middle School, which was considered important because it was an attempt to explore and understand the effectiveness of student sentences. The instrument in this study is the researcher himself. The results of this study revealed that the effectiveness of the text sentences from students' observations report can be said to be ineffective, it is 39 or 14% of 281 sentences. Based on the results of research on the effectiveness of the sentence in the text of observation report, it can be concluded into four things. First, students still commit errors in proper reasoning, namely regarding lodic ideas and unity of ideas. Secondly, students still commit errors in proper linguistics, namely regarding (1) placement of elements of syntactic functions correctly, (2) no missing sentence elements, (3) no redundant sentence elements, and (4) parallel sentence elements. Third, students still commit errors in the proper words and terms, namely regarding (1) right concepts, (2) right sense scores, (3) right collocation, and (4) right usage context. Fourth, students still commit errors in correct spelling, namely regarding (1) the use of letters, (2) writing words, and (3) use of punctuation . Kata kunci: Keefektifan Kalimat, Teks Laporan Hasil Observasi

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study consists of three things. First, to describe the skills to read the report text of the observation results of class VII students at SMP Negeri 21 Padang. Second, to describe the writing skills of report observation texts of class VII students of SMP Negeri 21 Padang. Third, to describe the correlation between the skills to read the text of the observation report and the text writing skills of the observation results of the seventh grade students at SMP Negeri 21 Padang.This type of research is quantitative with descriptive method. The design of this study is correlational. The population of this study was seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 21 Padang who were enrolled in the 2018/2019 school year as many as 219 people and spread in seven classes. The sample of this study amounted to 42 people who were determined using proportional random sampling technique. The research data was obtained through two types of tests, namely objective tests and performance tests. Objective tests are used to collect data on the skills to read the text of the observation report while the performance test is used to collect data on the skills to write the text of the observation report. Kata kunci: Korelasi, Keterampilan Membaca, Teks Laporan Hasil Observasi

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is three. First, describe the writing skills of fable texts of grade 7 students at SMP Negeri 7 Padang before using inquiry strategies assisted by audiovisual media. Second, describing the skill of writing fable texts in grade VII students of SMP Negeri 7 Padang after using inquiry strategies assisted by audiovisual media. Third, describe the influence of the use of inquiry strategies assisted by audiovisual media on fable text writing skills of seventh grade students of Padang 7 Public Middle School. This type of research is quantitative research with experimental methods. The design of this study was one group pretest and posttest design. The population in this study were seventh grade students of Padang 7 Public Middle School who were enrolled in 2018/2019 school year as many as 251 people. The sample in this study were 31 students who were determined using purposive sampling technique. The variables of this study were fable text writing skills before and after using inquiry learning strategies assisted by audiovisual media in seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 7 Padang. The instrument of this study was performance tests, namely tests of writing fable texts before and after using inquiry learning strategies assisted by audiovisual media. The results of this study are three, namely as follows. First, writing fable text skills before using the incuri strategy assisted by audiovisual media in grade VII students of Padang Public Middle School 7 were in a sufficient qualification (C) with an average of 62.37. Second, fable text writing skills after using inquiry strategies assisted by audiovisual media in class VII Padang 7 SMP Negeri are in Good qualification (B) with an average of 81.45. Third, based on the t-test, the alternative hypothesis (H1) is received at a significant level of 95% and the degree of freedom (dk) = n-1 because of t count> t table, which is 6.17> 1.70.  Kata Kunci: pengaruh, strategi inkuiri, keterampilan menulis teks fabel

This study examined longitudinal changes in peer network selection and influence associated with self-reported antisocial behavior (AB) and violent behavior (VB) over the course of middle school in a sample of ethnically diverse adolescents. Youth and families were randomly assigned to a school-based intervention focused on the prevention of substance use. Using a longitudinal social network modeling approach, we found that students with similar levels of AB were more likely to affiliate during the transition from sixth to seventh grade (peer selection). Higher levels of AB in the seventh grade led to growth in network size by eighth grade. No peer selection effects documented for VB, but youth became more similar to total levels of VB reported by their peers between seventh and eighth grades (peer influence). As expected, AB was positively associated with VB levels. Random assignment to intervention condition affected peer selection at Grade 7 but did not reduce levels of self-reported AB or VB. These findings suggest that managing peer networks using a variety of strategies is likely to reduce peer contagion for AB and VB in a public middle school setting. We discuss emerging intervention strategies for the management and the prevention of emotional and behavioral disorders.

This study dealt with Material Assessment and Expert Advice on the Literacy Explanation Text Module at Medan Kudus Christian Middle School Medan, Indonesia. The type of research used is research and development or Research & Development (R and D). This research and development was put forward by Borg and Gall (Sugiyono, 2013: 298). Improvements based on the results of the assessment and advice from experts, then the learning material for writing explanatory text based on literacy after improvement contains the material understanding of explanatory text, characteristics of explanatory text, classification of explanatory texts, explanatory text structures, etc. All material will be arranged in 3 activities, activity 1: explain the definition of explanatory text, explain the characteristics of explanatory text, classify explanatory text, activity 2: examine parts of explanatory text structure, understand the language rules of explanatory texts, determine general ideas of explanatory text, summarizing the explanatory text, activity 3: determining the patterns of explanation text development, understanding the steps for writing explanatory text, writing explanatory text according to the pattern or framework that has been designed. The form of the learning material for writing literacy-based explanatory texts is packaged in size B5 with page number 84 and letter size 12. The front cover of this literacy-based explanatory text module contains the name of the supervisor, the name of the module, illustrations of book drawings and hand drawings in writing positions. For the back cover of the learning material listed a general picture of the contents of the module.
