Supply chain resilience is regarded as the ability of manufacturing organizations to maintain a high degree of environmental awareness and quickly reply and adapt after a disruption occurs. Supply chain resilience can ensure the complete structure and function of the supply chain system to the greatest extent while ensuring the continuity of information flow and logistics. The academic circles pay increasing attention to the research of supply chain resilience. However, the existing research mainly focuses on case analysis and phenomenon description, and the research conclusion lacks a theoretical and empirical basis. Hence, the present study uses the systematic review method to sort out the literature and analyses supply chain resilience research theory. Then, the development research background of supply chain resilience is discussed. This study will provide a theoretical framework and a basis for future empirical research and provide theoretical guidance for companies to build a resilient supply chain.

Transcription Termination Factor 1 (TTF1) is an essential mammalian protein that regulates cellular transcription, replication fork arrest, DNA damage repair, chromatin remodelling etc. TTF1 interacts with numerous cellular proteins to regulate various cellular phenomena, and plays a crucial role in maintaining normal cellular physiology, dysregulation of which has been reported towards cancerous transformation of the cells. However, despite its key role in cellular physiology, the complete structure of human TTF1 has not been elucidated to date, either experimentally or computationally. Hence, understanding the structure of human TTF1 becomes highly important for studying its functions and interactions with other cellular factors. Therefore, the aim of this study was to construct the complete structure of human TTF1 protein, using molecular modelling approaches. Owing to the lack of suitable homologues in the PDB, the complete structure of human TTF1 was constructed using ab initio modelling. The structural stability was determined using molecular dynamics (MD) simulations in explicit solvent, and trajectory analyses. The representative structure of human TTF1 was obtained by trajectory clustering, and the central residues were determined by centrality analyses of the residue interaction network of TTF1. Two residue clusters, in the oligomerisation domain and C-terminal domain, were determined to be central to the structural stability of human TTF1. To the best of our knowledge, this study is the first to report the complete structure of human TTF1, and the results obtained herein will provide structural insights for future research in cancer biology and related studies.

AbstractLaboulbeniales are a highly specialized group of fungi living only on arthropods. They have high host specificity and spend their entire life-cycle on an arthropod host. Taxonomic characters of Laboulbeniales are based on the architecture of the cells of the parenchymal thallus, i.e. the visible part of the fungus outside the host. The extent of the fungus spreading inside the host—the haustorium—remains largely unknown. The attachment to the arthropod host is fundamental to understand the fungus-animal interaction, but how this truly occurs is unclear. Recent evidences question the strictly parasitic life-style of Laboulbeniales. We used micro-computed tomography (µCT) and 3D reconstructions to visualize, for the first time, the complete structure of Laboulbeniales species in situ on their hosts. We compared the haustoriate species, Arthrorhynchus nycteribiae on an insect host to the non-haustoriate species, Rickia gigas on a millipede host. Our results confirm that some Laboulbeniales species are ectoparasitic and have a haustorial structure that penetrates the host’s cuticle, while others are ectobionts and are only firmly attached to the host’s cuticle without penetrating it. The presence and the morphology of the haustorium are important traits for Laboulbeniales evolution, and key factors for future understanding of host dependence and specificity.

It is well-known that Sharkovskii’s theorem gives a complete structure of periodic order for a continuous self-map on a closed bounded interval. As a further study, a natural problem is how to determine the location and number of periodic points for a specific map. This paper considers the periodic points of asymmetric Bernoulli shift, which is a piecewise linear chaotic map.

This paper presents a low-cost architecture that allows for beamforming with antenna arrays installed onto unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Beam switching is proposed to improve the antenna gain towards the ground station with two three-element arrays installed below the wings of the UAV. The electromagnetic modeling of the complete structure (UAV and integrated antennas) was performed with commercial electromagnetic simulator Ansys HFSS. The radiation patterns were synthesized with particle swarm optimization (PSO). By employing lumped surface-mount device (SMD) components and switches, the design of the feeder to deliver proper excitation coefficients to the antennas is presented, and its performance was assessed by simulations. The proposed approach is demonstrated to be very effective with low-cost production.

Densazalin, a polycyclic alkaloid, was isolated from the marine sponge Haliclona densaspicula collected in Korea. The complete structure of the compound was determined by spectroscopic methods, including 1D and 2D nuclear magnetic resonance techniques, high-resolution mass spectrometry, and comparison of the calculated and measured electronic circular dichroism spectra. Densazalin possesses a unique 5,11-diazatricyclo[7.3.1.02,7]tridecan-2,4,6-triene moiety, which is connected by two linear carbon chains. This compound was derived from the biogenetic precursor bis-1,3-dialkylpyridnium. Densazalin exhibited cytotoxic activity on two human tumor cell lines (AGS and HepG2) in the Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8) bioassay, with IC50 values ranging from 15.5 to 18.4 μM.

AbstractWe study the singular set in the thin obstacle problem for degenerate parabolic equations with weight $$|y|^a$$ | y | a for $$a \in (-1,1)$$ a ∈ ( - 1 , 1 ) . Such problem arises as the local extension of the obstacle problem for the fractional heat operator $$(\partial _t - \Delta _x)^s$$ ( ∂ t - Δ x ) s for $$s \in (0,1)$$ s ∈ ( 0 , 1 ) . Our main result establishes the complete structure and regularity of the singular set of the free boundary. To achieve it, we prove Almgren-Poon, Weiss, and Monneau type monotonicity formulas which generalize those for the case of the heat equation ($$a=0$$ a = 0 ).

AbstractIron is an essential element involved in various metabolic processes. The ferritin family of proteins forms nanocage assembly and are involved in iron oxidation, storage and mineralization. Although several structures of human ferritin and bacterioferritin subunits have been resolved, there is still no complete structure that shows both the trapped Fe-biomineral cluster along with the nanocage. Furthermore, whereas the mechanism of iron trafficking has been explained using various approaches, an atomic-level description of the pathway and the biomineralization that occurs inside the cavity are lacking. Here, we report three cryo-EM structures of different states of the Streptomyces coelicolor bacterioferritin nanocage (i.e., apo, holo) at 3.4 Å to 4.6 Å resolution and the subunit crystal structure at 2.6 Å resolution. The holo forms show different stages of Fe-biomineral accumulation inside the nanocage and suggest the possibility of a different Fe biomineral accumulation process. The cryo-EM map shows connections between the Fe-biomineral cluster and residues such as Thr157 and Lys42 from the protein shell, which are involved in iron transport. Mutation and truncation of the bacterioferritin residues involved in these connections can significantly reduce iron binding as compared with wild type bacterioferritin. Moreover, S. coelicolor bacterioferritin binds to various DNA fragments, similar to Dps (DNA-binding protein from starved cells) proteins. Collectively, our results represent a prototype for the ferritin nanocage, revealing insight into its biomineralization and the potential channel for ferritin-associated iron trafficking.
